- In this video I start creating a new game I'm working on where you can build, defend and progress your medieval town. The games being made in the scratch game engine although I am using a modded version called turbowarp :(

Seeing Scratch was the last thing I expected when clicking on a devlog tf
lol
I loved the river generation system!
Yh it was such a simple solution but I can't believe I didn't think of it sooner
This guy is so underrated! Your skills in Scratch are actually insane!
Thanks lol I tried my best. The stuff I did in this video ive been making for a long time so terrain gen is kinda my speciality.
Looks like it's gon be a great game!
Congrats on 400 subscribers 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉👍👍👍
Oh wow! Really cool! Sadly you cannot move objects out of the frame with the normal Scratch so there the zoom wouldn't work... Really excited for more dev logs
actually you can
Im planning on releasing it on itch.io so it wont be a problem :)
It is really good bro, I am really excited for next devlog! keep it up
Love this channel please carry on with this game
Yes sir!
Im working on a game like this but mine is isometric. I subscribed, cannot wait to see how the game evolves.
Sounds cool. Thanks.
as expected from the Wow Gam-, I mean MuuMuu..
You:🤐 me: 🔥🔫😤
That's cool bro!
Yooo I love this video a lot!
Thanks!
Really Cool !! 😊😊
Actually cool!
Fore those wonderin why the scratch clone limitation of 300 is not working, because he is not using scratch. He is using Gandi IDE (scratch mod but better than scratch)
Im using Turbowarp which is arguably worse than Gandi IDE but its what im use to and the export settings are sick lol
what was the method you used for river generation? im looking to do something similar for my game, not making mine in scratch however so if you can explain the theory behind it that would be a huge help.
Basically its one block that starts in a random point on the grid and then it creates a copy of itself and then moves in a random direction on the grid and continues that a random amount of times. when you spawn in a clone tho u have to delete it if theres a clone already in that space which is easy enough but u might have a problem where they are just touching the ones next to it instead of overlapping. So to avoid it deleting itself I first spawn them in smaller and then once all the spawning is done I increase each one to the size it needs to be. Hope that helped.
@@MuuMuuGameDev cheers, i was thinking of a similar method
Hello! i've used your water gen system in my project. changed the variables and some math so it fits mine but i've got this error that when the river gen is complete the water disapears :/. have you got this error too when coding ?
Nah I havent had that. Try making sure it goes to the front layer and shows. Maybe its even the ghost effect.
@@MuuMuuGameDev im gonna check that out, if u remove the blocks that move it with the camera it doesnt do that. ill debug today and see where's the problem. thanks dude 😎
@@MuuMuuGameDev I GOT IT WORKING YESSSS IM A PROUD SCRATCH DEVELOPEEEEEEER !!!
Add a link or screenshot to the code please 🙏
dude.. im working on a very similar project, do you wanna collab? iv got functioning zooming and camera movement, maybe you could get it implemented into your game by looking at my code or we could merge our projects
Really? Could u send a link or send a pic on the discord? Would love to see what u got n compare code.
Seeing someone coding a game with blocks hurts
It's a more casual take but I can understand it
Make a tutorial
On what part specifically? The whole nature gen?
@@MuuMuuGameDev on the river and the zoom part pls
@@CapTap123 Might make it some day but ill add it to my list. Heres a link to the project if u wanna have a scan over it. This is an older version tho so it may be a bit buggy in places and im sure the code could be improved upon. (also u may have to open it in turbowarp desktop engine) drive.google.com/drive/folders/1i7m2O_IzT4VHTwuDJc9UCo-cAzRSEP_f?usp=sharing
@@MuuMuuGameDev I’m not sure how to use that
@@CapTap123 Its the same as scratch. Im sure tutorials out there if you get stuck.
Please stop using Scratch, you will have to implement a lot of mechanics by yourself. Instead of making a game you will think how to make physics, collision, etc. You will make games, faster and better in a another game engine like Unity, or Godot. I think that, if Unity is too hard for you, you should try Godot. Godot isn't that hard to understand, and has very good UI even for beginners
Yh but this is just a silly hobby tbh. Im not really interested in making games properly. I just wanna have fun, grow a community and make some cool scratch prototypes along the way.
@@MuuMuuGameDev Even if it's hobby, try to watch a few tutorials
There are a lot of tutorials/devlogs out there with Unity/Godot or whatever.
I love it to see this in Scratch - keep in going :-)
u just got a new sub
