- Louis DeJoy answered questions at a Senate hearing on Tuesday regarding ongoing issues at multiple postal facilities, including in Atlanta.
They should talk about how multiple layers of management do nothing but watch mail carriers work.

@mailmanjoe right. They talk about not needing hire anybody. We need more workers in most places. You got city routes well overburdened due to packages (amazon mostly) that the carrier can't get it done in "8", pay all that money out in OT. When it wpuld be cheaper to cut routes back to a normal pace and hire or promote a person to run a new route. The actual workers are harassed on a daily bases all threw out the day it's never ending. Intimidation by management to skip breaks and work threw lunches is threw the roof all over the place. Mentally the stress on the common worker is threw the roof.
I worked 32 as a Letter Carrier to make USPS the best and Trump started it's death with Dejoy poisoning 😢
It’s probably not a good idea to close 10 facilities and jam 2,000 people in to one building in literally one day. It was a disaster.
The republican senator, treated Dejoy with kid gloves (mentioning only 2 facilities) as usual.
Your mgmt is not working! How long have you had? I dont want "you're sorry's".....pay me for late bills! The Pony Express could have done better! And all the while you are raising cost of stamps! You are going to slow things down for the ekection. Fire this incompetent nincompoop!

The worst thing that will happen to him, personally, is that he will be forced to resign w/ either a lifetime monetary benefit, or an outlandish severance package of some sort. My mail delivery person cares 100% about getting my mail to me. I'm not a fan of this guy

So what I'm hearing is to not have packages sent through the post office here in GA because you'll never see it again. I say this while my package from Canada made it through Palmetto and ATL Dis Cen, only to be sent to NY and MA. Now everyone in GA and every state you messed up just has to suffer while you figure out when your version of running smooth kicks in. Awful!
They should ask him about the machines in the facilities that break down, the vehicles breaking down. In other words priority not you. FYI the postal service also delivers amazon packages.

I applied for a passport in January. Last I heard from my local post office is that my application is still at the palmetto facility. It’s the end of April. These guys are not moving the fast enough when letters and packages are taking months to move.
Houston, Tx Southwest facility service is jacked up and delayed. Has been since November 2023.
Some people still haven't gotten their packages.

If you want to fix the post office the No1 thing to fix is COMMUNICATION on all levels... but especially with management... and I dont mean mandates from on high. I mean LISTEN to the people on the ground who do this work every day.
