This cigarette rolling machine is a well made and durable piece of equipment. All the components seem heavy duty. I like the rubber bottom which helps it stay in place. The handle moves smoothly with no catches. The empty tube stays on the machine well, without falling off over and over. I was able to fill it with plenty of my smoke of choice (but not too tightly) and execute the handle to produce a well packed cigarette that smoked cleanly and evenly. I also liked the extras that come along with it.
I definitely recommend buying this machine! I have used TOP and other brands of manual machines, but they all have a disadvantage, they are easy to get stuck. I have produced more than 20,000 cigarettes with this crab machine, and there is no problem with it. Every time I use this crab machine, I clean the spoon and blade of the machine with alcohol and then wipe it clean.
When my other (most popular) cigarette machine started jamming, figuring it was the bushing and springs, I was going to order parts for it. But then, after shipping and handling, and by the time it would take, buying cigarettes until it arrived, I would have spent twice as much than just buying a new one, delivered next day.
Honestly, in the year and a half I've had that other brand, most times I was wrestling it, if the tobacco wasn't perfect, or was those drier, smaller parts, it would clog and jam, it was so messy, and among other PIA's I never figured out how to make a perfect cigarette...unusual for a perfectionist. All things I thought were just part of what you had to deal with to make your own cigarettes.
THAT IS...UNTIL I GOT THIS ONE, based mostly on the reviews.

That one bad review...pull out the safety clip that protects the handle from moving around when not in use! ;-)~
First of all, aside from the handle safety clip, the machine itself is shrink wrapped with really strong and sturdy plastic. Then the machine, the accessory tools (in plastic), and one small instruction manual (not a bunch of stuff you'll never read) are in a really nice box.
The machine has a small well type place for putting your tobacco...to slide down from, instead of it going everywhere. For just the right amount to make a few to several cigarettes at a time.
The tube length adjuster is permanently attached (so no chance of misplacing or losing it), and it clicks as you adjust to several lengths, rather than just two.
Unlike the other brand, the bottom doesn't come off...at least not that I've figured out yet. My only guess, thus far, is that pieces of tobacco aren't accumulating like the other one does. But time and more use will tell.
I immediately went to making a cigarette, gun shy and certain that I was going to have to wrestle, and certain that it was going to be that dreaded first wasted dud. I packed the tobacco down into the stuffing hopper...put my tube on (which stays in place, perfectly, on its own), I firmly grabbed a hold of the steady handle, ready to wrestle, then pulled down lever and...WOW! PURE SMOOTHNESS, AND A PERFECT CIGARETTE, without even packing it.
The next time I packed more tobacco...
because the filter in king size (regular cigarette size) tubes is much smaller than store bought, I set my adjuster to 100's. And then, even when a tiny amount of tobacco is sticking out of the top, when I pack it it tops off perfectly.
It was so smooth, so easy, and so less time consuming than I was used to, that I proceeded to make 100 cigarettes in a little over an hour. It pobably would have taken less time if I wasn't still gun shy, waiting for it to jam.
Not one jam. Not one wrestle. Every single time it was SMOOTH AS SILK. Every single cigarette turned out perfectly, evenly distributed tobacco throughout the entire cigarette...no gaps, no empty space at the end, and no wrinkles or crinkles. No mess everywhere. No wasted tobacco.
Every single cigarette turned out like the photos. They look and feel like store bought.
It's so easy and smooth, I would bet that I'll eventually be able to actually watch TV while I'm making them. :-)
I have no idea what batteries are needed for, or why the light. I didn't use batteries. I didn't have to, and would rather not have to.
LOOK NO FURTHER...THIS IS THE ONE!!!
If you get that other brand, instead of this one, you'll regret it. Especially for this price compared to the other brand....WHY?
