Thank you for so many useful videos! For the self-contact friction, how did you decide the friction coefficient to be 0.2? What does this coefficient mean?
Hello, Thanks for the video and it has been a great learning experience with your videos. Could you please tell me on how did you select the value of point mass/inertia for the rigid body and what is its importance on the output ? Raj
For those not getting any displacement in the results, please follow the below steps 1) Go to Interactions module-> create constraint - > MPC constraint 2) Tie fixed and movable ends with their respective reference points 3) Now run the job. You will still get a couple of warnings but will get the output. ( The job ran 1.5 hours for me !)
is there anyway if i want to perform same kind of analysis but instead of film want to use strand wires as 1D beam element. And if yes how i have to define contacts between 1D(strands) and 2D elements(mandrel)
Hi, I have followed every step exactly in your video but ends up with no deformation at all. Can you please share your input file online? Thanks a lot!
Sonia, This is just to make sure that there is proper tie between master and slave. We can put distance more than 1mm. For example 1.1mm is also good enough.
Very nice video.......and big respect from Zagreb/Croatia!

Very useful video. Keep it up bro ...
In dynamic explicit can total energy be negetive?
can you please tell me about why you have used -37mm value in 'Z' direction in displacement BC???
This shows twisting, can it model add/remove material to figure out the prevention of twisting forces? Drive shaft for example

How do you change your result exponential values to regular numbers?
Hi thank you! why the Mass iniertia it 1e-03 ?? what is the reason ?
Abaqus explicit need mass matrix to solve the problem. Otherwise it gives error for inertia missing.
No. i have solved it without inertia. it work
Bt what you did, it solved without inertia?
I like your chanel. Thanks
Amazing. Thank you so much.

Why you have given -37 mm in Z direction in displacement boundary condition.Only twisting is not sufficient?
good work ...thanks
can anyone tell me why in the "specify distance" in tie constraint we put 5???? the film and madrel has only 1 mm difference in diameter.

I am in the same boat as Jason. I submitted data check and it sits there. Monitor doesnt show any errors, steps, etc.. I followed step by step..
I think its because he doesn't tie the reference point to the rigid mandrel..
Can you send me the inp file? I did the same and it doesnt work for me
Thanks, man.
Thanks a lot
Thanks :)
Why didn't he assigned element type?
amazing i want someone help me to mack works by abaqus
CA NE MARCHE PAS !!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
