The campsites are looking really empty, normally they only have a few pitches this time of year. When you return, I would be more than happy to recommend some places to visit. Very good idea Brian! We still are wanting to make a video all about that topic, when we have more info we will certainly be doing something along those lines!
Hola Javier!
I had an usual burglary problem in Argentina, so I didn´t watch your lovely channel, believe me, I missed it. The Delta del Tigre is very nice, & I have a cabin there. As they could not get into my home, they broke my entrance door in two. Upper part closed, entrance in the lower part open now... And I´m not fully out of the trouble. I now found out that security problems start with grafitties & then escalate. Your videos are lovely, I see a drone ¡Congratulations! Definitely Coimbra is the place for an older adult like me, I hope from December onwards may be I´ll see you. ¿Does Omar speak some spanish? It´s very useful in Portugal. Regards (saludos) from the mess in Argentina.
So sorry to hear that Teo. I had the bad chance to experience this when I was 15. Luckily we weren't in the house but the feeling afterwards is so uncomfortable, as if you can't trust anyone. I never understood why people do that as if it's one's fault for their misfortunes. Never think Karma would be good to people like that and seek refuge in never ever making others feel that way. The silver lining was not being there and couldn't have been much worse. Materials things are replaceable and not Life. Family heirlooms were stolen, things from passed family members but at least, we were are alright. Omar has some crazy close ones in South Africa. Being here is priceless that way, you feel safe and never take it from granted. You will indeed enjoy and fully appreciate being in a gorgeous place like Coimbra. Thank you for liking our video, it's great you enjoyed it! We have indeed added a drone and hopefully give a different perspective to our project and our viewers :) Omar is a good Spanish listener but not so great of a speaker. His Portuguese is progressive specially because people here are so welcoming and friendly. See you next Sunday!
@@TheIndigoEscape Thank you for your very nice reply! As I said in my post, I found out the lack of security starts with graffities. I use Google streeview all the time to look for grafitties, broken glass, bars on windows & doors, barbed wire, electric fences, & so on. Very good in Madeira, very bad in Braga & near Azoia. I took graffities ("street art") as natural for about 67 years, but a time ago I found out that the start of damaging someones property starts this way. In Argentina I had a history of 60 years of robberies, I got used to live this way. Some RUclips channels from expats in Portugal started to tour houses for sale in the Castelo Branco area, and OK Portugal published a very lovely one 4 days ago. But the lack of people in that part of Gois is not a good symptom. Coimbra & Madeira are now my preferred personal options. The pic of Barry, the wasp spider in Facebook, is priceless. Portugal is a gem, I congratulate you!
Would love to see any footage you have, or just get your impression of Toulouse. We are planning a trip to Portugal, the Toulouse area in France, and Spain in the Spring of 2022. Wondering if popping up into Toulouse is really worth our while or not. I'd love to hear your opinion. :)
Hi Miranda, thanks for your message! We didn't actually go into Toulouse but we can certainly vouch for going into the Pyrenees mountains, around the Lourdes area. The weather is milder and the people were super nice. I really couldn't recommend enough doing the trip by road the long way around rather than by going on the ferry or flying. Wishing you all the best!
great vlog, your car performed fantastic, what did it cost in terms of your journey for fuel, overnight stays and tolls etc.... Looking forward to seeing how you continue to progress with your works.
Hi Stephen, thanks for your message! Approximately the costs were: €120 on the Eurotunnel, €180 on Tolls, €220 on Fuel and then about €110 on camping for 5 nights. :)
I'm curious about the cost of driving tolls and gas for your trip back to Portugal if you don't mind? It looks like driving/camping might be another way to see Europe as an alternative to trains, planes and buses and paying hotel and even hostels? Thanks! I want to visit Europe ASAP!! ASAS =as soon as safe! Very fun video! Thanks from Seattle! 🌻
Hey Alex! Thanks for your message :) we spent about 180 euros in tolls and about 220 euros on fuel, 120 euros on the Eurotunnel and about 100 euros on camping sites.. ;)
@@TheIndigoEscape Thank you for the information! I look forward to your next adventures whether at home or other locations! Your road trip video was fantastic! @@TheIndigoEscape Thank you for the breakdown. Was wondering how that would compare with ferry crossing to Santander. I hope you will say more about your £300 car, seems like a good deal and a loop hole you are using. Presumably you can use it for six months in Portugal before it has to be matriculated or taken off the road? I would have thought you could break it for parts and make more than your investment money back.
@@100Noddy Me too! It would be great to know if you plan to use it for 6 months then take it off the road, or if you will be able to matriculate it... Considering the cost of cars in Portugal and in the UK, a lot of people would love to know. more about this.
Goeie dag! & Buen Dia! May-be I missed it on your previous videos, but would like to know the cost of you Container House and where were you able to source it from. Baie dankie! & Muchas Gracias!
Hey there! In our second video about the cost of the land we go into more details about the container, basically we bought it on OLX.pt and it cost 2400 euros without transportation and the various upgrades we've done :)
Hello Flowers! I'm loving the name ;) Omar can speak basic french as he used to work as a tour guide in Paris for many years, so we never had any issues ;) All the best to you! :)
Hope you will say more about your £300 car and your overall budget to get back to Portugal. I am guessing it is a lot cheaper to do what you have done, rather than ferry to Santander or Bilbao. Would it have been possible to wild camp with your tent?
The way we did it cost (approx) 120 for euro tunnel, 180 tolls, 220 petrol and then 110 for camping.. and we did it over 6 days.. it would have been much less if we had gone directly..
Thank you DJ! 😊❤️ You could but you may need to stay longer at each place (quarantine) and show PCR tests. Best to check travel advice for each country from your home country (for us it was www.gov.uk/guidance/travel-abroad-from-england-during-coronavirus-covid-19) and see the latest rules.

Well good luck with the house renovations Im looking forward to more videos on it, and whenever you guys are back in London get in touch 😀 mabe we can grab a beer 🍺
Great video..as a follow-up to the ten reasons to go to Portugal, how about ten things to careful or aware of when moving to Portugal.. keep up the good work and stay safe
Very good idea Brian! We still are wanting to make a video all about that topic, when we have more info we will certainly be doing something along those lines!
Great trip it whose a beautiful vídeo
Bigne to work my dears
@@javierperal754 No te preocupes! Gracias! Agregaremos Asturias a los lugares por visitar :)
We have indeed added a drone and hopefully give a different perspective to our project and our viewers :)
Omar is a good Spanish listener but not so great of a speaker.
If you have time and $, it would be fun to see more short or long road trips in the future! 🚗 🚕 🚙 PS Your smile is getting even better each video! 😘
@@AlexAlex-gj4jd yaaay! Smile making progress!
Sure! We would like to do some short trips as well along with the reno videos :)
Thank you for following and enjoying our videos. Really appreciated!
Miles with Pounds is a funny title
In the UK we use miles and the currency is the Pound Stirling (£)
@@TheIndigoEscape I stand corrected. I figured meters were used.
yaaay! you are back :)!
Do either of you speak French? did langauge every become a barrier ?
Hello Flowers! I'm loving the name ;) Omar can speak basic french as he used to work as a tour guide in Paris for many years, so we never had any issues ;) All the best to you! :)
Far cheaper to cross from Portsmouth or Newhaven!!
Yes, but we wanted to do a road trip. Also Andrea gets quite seasick
Hope you will say more about your £300 car and your overall budget to get back to Portugal. I am guessing it is a lot cheaper to do what you have done, rather than ferry to Santander or Bilbao. Would it have been possible to wild camp with your tent?
Hey Noddy :) I reckon the ferry and petrol would have cost about 500 euros and taken 48 hours total travel..
The way we did it cost (approx) 120 for euro tunnel, 180 tolls, 220 petrol and then 110 for camping.. and we did it over 6 days.. it would have been much less if we had gone directly..
I want to go with....I love impromptu parties!
👏👏👏💫✨💚
Thank you!!!!
But where the English breakfast?
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Can you get through this route without being vaccinated ? Love your show by the way
Thank you DJ! 😊❤️
You could but you may need to stay longer at each place (quarantine) and show PCR tests.
Best to check travel advice for each country from your home country (for us it was www.gov.uk/guidance/travel-abroad-from-england-during-coronavirus-covid-19) and see the latest rules.

Shame the photography wasn't a bit sharper...
That’s a shame! Check your internet connection, it should be playing at 1080!
@@TheIndigoEscape Well I'll blame BT...some bits were clear but most not sharp at all...I don't have a problem with other utube channels that I watch from Portugal...
