I was born in the late 70’s and in my teens I went back and watched every episode of doctor who that was in existence. Later I watched Doctor Who when it returned and I loved it. For me my favourite Doctor of the modern era was Matt Smith. But for me Doctor Who died with “The timeless Children” and that was it…I’m out!
Unfortunately I tapped out of Dr. Who after the 12th Doctor. Who fatigue. But my favorites...
Tom Baker: I grew up on Baker, so nostalgia.
Christopher Eccleston: I'm old, so this cool Dad Doctor appealed to me.
Peter Capaldi: Another old dude, reminds me of Baker.
Honorable mentions (Series actors I'd love to see as a Doctor)
Dr. Donna, aka Donna Noble, aka Catherine Tate (I started off annoyed by this character, but she won me over and I teared up at the end of her story arc)
The Master: aka Michelle Gomez (outstanding!)
I think the series did a good job with the modern day Dr. actors. I can't comment on Whittaker or Gatwa on their Dr. Who performances specifically, but they're good in other things I've seen them in. I stopped watching after Capaldi.
I enjoyed the season as a whole. Finale was pretty disappointing, but that's often the case with doctor who. Biggest problem for me was the lack of episodes honestly. Ncuti is great and can't wait to see more of him though.
Yeah, it was average, but def better than Chibs. Just too many "failed" landings for me with great premises. =)
