Actually, in Tekken, this movement is really called "Crouch Dash" or better known as "Wavedash".
This one is the wavedash Korean backdash is a different thing

As a kazuya main I am extremely impressed how they managed to get his mechanics to a 2d game platform.
Wavedashing in tekken is kazuyas key move and as you said you can use the advantage on wavedashing and connecting them all with most of his moves to be more aggressive
If only the rest of the cast had wavedashing too.
found out about the instant reflector thing by accident while labbing. but this other stuff I had no idea. I love the back dash and being able to bait something with it. I feel like that may be the most useful thing.

just to clearify for people, kazuya is doing a crouchdash, also called a wavedash, which is NOT the same as a korean back dash, the inputs are similar but NOT the same, the korean backdash is only to go backward
