@@IVespidI Look, if you put a video on youtube of you building a sauna then you should be able to handle some criticism. The issue isn't that his build isnt beautiful but the way he built it is dangerous (no cap on the smokestack and no support for the bench where he is sitting on) and also this hut will break in a few years because he didnt cover the roof all the way so water will leak into it and mold will start to grow. My issue is simply that if he invested like 10% more time and thought it out a little better, this build could have been 100% better. Good effort on your sauna build, I like the style. I can only imagine how cold your feet are! The top of the "kiuas" sauna stove should be the same height as the bottom of your feet, all Finns know this.
I love it and I've been wanting a sauna forever I already have a building attached to the house and there's a firewall in between so I'm thinking about converting that. You did an amazing job
Dude this is super cool. You came up with good ideas to simplify the process. How much did it all cost? Please do an update in a year so we can see how it holds up!
Here you can get more information www.instructables.com/DIY-Outdoor-Sauna/ Please also check the update, it incorporates the feedback I got for this build: www.instructables.com/DIY-Sauna-Update/
Due to my own inexperience with saunas, I have so many questions. Like: 1. Why the solid lumber walls? Why not standard framing and T1-11? 2. Why the flat roof? Seems likely to leak. 3. Why have the gaps between lumber in the walls? Is fresh air infiltration through them desirable?
1./2. to keep it simple 3. you only need some air ventilation for the stove. Gaps are not desirable, but the stove is kind of overkill for such a small sauna so I didn't bother. However,I closed the large gaps on the floor except of a gap close to the stove.
Im a total novice when it comes to crafting, so im absolutely fascinated by what appeared to be finishing wood w flame instead of paint. I may end up wasting more time than i should researching it later :)
Other guy is right. This is a method we use often out in the woods when access to fancy material is not available. It prevents mold, deterioration, and pests. It will improve the lifespan of the wood. Additionally it helps make a liquid proof seal.
Really good I enjoyed and of course you could make it more insulated that's just extra time on the video, the bones of the construction and idea are there...well done ps I want one
There's so much wrong with this build lol Good for him though. I bet he enjoyed it. Strobe lights, flimsy bench, open stack, phone level and all. You lost me at phone level.... then it just piled up after that.
I'm not criticizing - but I am curious about a couple of things. 1) Why did you use all thread instead of building regular walls? It seems to me that the method you used would be more time consuming. You saved a little bit of money on lumber, but not much when you add in the cost of the all thread. 2) Why not add some bracing under that bench? Even some 2x4 pieces screwed to the wall along the sides and back to rest the bench on would have made it a lot stronger. 3) Why did you choose to use wood heat instead of gas or propane? It seems to me that building a fire in advance of when you want to use it would be kind of a pain. Like I said, I'm not criticizing. I want to build a sauna, but I'm not much of a carpenter. I am wondering what advantages you see to doing it this way.
1) the thread rod costs only 5 bucks, it's inside the wall and simple to align 2) The bench rests on braces on the side and on the back. That's enough, it works and bends just slightly. 3) the classic Finnish sauna is wood fired, it gives a more pleasant heat, there is no need for a 3 phase power connection, I don't think that there are any gas/propane sauna stoves
Oh, there are plenty of sauna heaters that run on gas or propane. www.saunaplace.com/store/scandia-ultra-gas-sauna-heater-model-240.html -- that's just one example. You can buy them on Amazon. For an electrical heat you just need 240 volts, no need for three phase service. I used to heat my whole house with electric forced air heat - in northwestern Pennsylvania winters. I was looking at a 6kW sauna heater earlier today. It runs on 240V single phase and has a nominal current draw of 25 amps. That's about what an electric clothes dryer uses. I'm curious where you bought the all thread for $5 - pieces like that around here are significantly more expensive. I've found 6 foot galvanized steel all thread, 3/8" diameter, for about $5 each, but you have to buy at least 25 for that amount. Are you having any trouble with water pooling between the horizontal pieces of timber you used for the walls? Do you notice any difference with not having insulation?
This was a damn interesting approach! Threaded rod to keep the boards in line than bolt them down. If though the stove is exhausting, I'm thinking some soot might escape and being that your in a very confined area. This may be bad over the years.

I enjoyed the fact that he is wearing flip flops for some of the build. Other than that, this is very impressive. Also, to all those that critique this, the guy build it on a budget, using like 4 tools, plus his phone.
Yeah that's right, and he has a sauna now... while all these critics are sitting around too afraid to try to build a sandwich for fear of using the wrong setting on their toasters.
And yes, if I had the space to build something like this, I would also build something like that and just think it through a little more
@@Ergydion yeah, those are good points. I still think it's cool that he did it and he showed off some interesting solutions for getting it done fast and cheap.
Trop fort ! L'air de la combustion viens de dehors ?
Love it! 👍🏻 No talking. Straight to the point. Cool ass sauna too
I would highly recommend to put a support bar in the middle of the seating area those screws won’t hold that much weight
this project i am seriously thinking about recreating...great video...
If so i Will give you a little tip make a Wooden skeleton so than you can use insulation and remember air vents
Just some helpful advice for the best result from a professionel Carpenter and sauna master
@@rasmushansen2390 How many air vents and what place? Thanks in advance!
@@rasmushansen2390if you build it this way, don’t really need air vents, yeah? Cause there are holes on the floor at the bottom, and small gaps between the board for the siding. My thought anyhow
The lighting must really help with meditation 😂
Great vid, thanks for sharing!
At least you got a Finnish "kiuas" . Props for that :)
All that in 8:40 minutes! Impressive!
😂😋😛
Joking obviously 😋
But very cool! I want 2 make one myself, but that will never happen 😂
Almost perfect , only that I'd put a fence around the oven to protect the people.
Interesting video.
Come on mate can't put cotton buds on everything to stop the stupid getting injured
Nice video , ty !
Maybe add a chimney cover against eventual strong rain ?
I turn the elbow 180° after each use
Okay I noticed that Rolex...
Now this is how you make a sauna. Very authentic approach.
a novel approach to the build . love it
Finally a simple and cheap way of building a sauna.
If I have to spend a few thousand on a sauna build I can buy one already build for that much.
I like the original design, well done... how is it holding up and what issues have you had?
And btw chain drilling is a perfectly valid technique if you lack the proper tool.
It's good. I'll do a follow up in a few months. I had to close the gaps on the floor. Maybe I'll do more mods.
dude that build was cool as hell! good job man!
Interesting. But I can do without the disco lights.
totally agree with you on that
Its a slavic thing.
Lol
@@igormrz88 Is it slavic thing to have disco lights or not having them?
@@eliasrimpela4276 its a slavic thing to have them lol.
This a the best rough draft to help !! What’s the list of materials !!
here you can find more details www.instructables.com/DIY-Outdoor-Sauna/
What was the overall cost of this project man thinking of doing one myself!
Like this guy, about $52.00
Some really unnecessary comments, no one is just born with the knowledge to do everything correctly. If something is dangerous to him by all means let him know but come on, some of these commenters are beyond condescending.
How is this structure holding up?
I delieve poorly :D
while I wouldn't do it in this way, your method worked and that is cool. I always love to see people come up with their own method (even if it's not exactly what I would have ("would of" for the idiots out there) done. good build!!!!
You have inspired me to do the same! Thank you for your hard work, and video.
I was wondering if you could help me find wood floor like yours in U.S.! Somehow I can't find such a beautiful floor like that. Any info would be appreciated.
I like this build. Regards from Finland, Risto
Finland, the capital of saunas
I had watched the Russian sauna video and saw the comments from people from Finland. I checked the comments looking for your approval and I am glad because this is something I can do and afford!!
I love how simple this build is, has the sauna worked well?
Dude this is super cool. You came up with good ideas to simplify the process. How much did it all cost? Please do an update in a year so we can see how it holds up!
Оно сгорит через месяц.
Почему сгорит?
Brilliant
Ive been meaning to make my own .
Overthinking whas t to Do.
Possible sauna door link
Thanks

First throw that timer away
Second thing your sauna has to be over 75°c
Harvia is good brand and i love your stuff
"PERKELE" 😅
Moro oon samaa mieltä ja meil on Narvi kiuas mut harvia ja misa on hyviä myös, ja noi hiton värivalot pois kans
Fantastic! Are plans/materials list available for purchase? This is the one I want to buil! Thank you!
Here you can get more information www.instructables.com/DIY-Outdoor-Sauna/ Please also check the update, it incorporates the feedback I got for this build: www.instructables.com/DIY-Sauna-Update/
Damn! Making me want to make one now!!!
So inspiring !!!
very cool - thank you for sharing !!
how hot does it get?
1:58 sounds like a fart 😂😂😂

Same
i had to check ,yes it does so great a very good one indeed
Amazing!! I really enjoyed watching every second of this!
насмотрелся роликов на ютуб и стал строителем. Просто жесть что получилось.
@MiSo да и помоему использовал аналог клея ПВП))) Пва на водной основе, который боится воды, и отслаивается) гениально)
Проходка стены вообще доставляет !
gamer sauna with all RGB, pretty cool
Seasons have come and gone while you were building it :)
Bro started in summer and finished in winter. Right on time!
Eating an orange in a sauna ..best thing ever!
Due to my own inexperience with saunas, I have so many questions. Like:
1. Why the solid lumber walls? Why not standard framing and T1-11?
2. Why the flat roof? Seems likely to leak.
3. Why have the gaps between lumber in the walls? Is fresh air infiltration through them desirable?
1./2. to keep it simple
3. you only need some air ventilation for the stove.
The Japanese calls it Shou Sugi Ban and it improves longevity outdoor.
Other guy is right. This is a method we use often out in the woods when access to fancy material is not available. It prevents mold, deterioration, and pests. It will improve the lifespan of the wood. Additionally it helps make a liquid proof seal.
It’s a cool build but idk where I’m gonna get an asphalt torch
Absolutely perfect. I want one. ❤️
Nice job, but I think I would have put a pitch to the roof and run the roofing felt over the edges to protect the timber.
Really good I enjoyed and of course you could make it more insulated that's just extra time on the video, the bones of the construction and idea are there...well done ps I want one
The bones are literally missing.....
First I was like what the heck, but after all its the best low budget made sauna on youtube I think :)
There's so much wrong with this build lol Good for him though. I bet he enjoyed it. Strobe lights, flimsy bench, open stack, phone level and all. You lost me at phone level.... then it just piled up after that.
Good for the Bush. I wouldn’t build like that in my back yard.
Great job man. That's an awesome little Sauna.
Thanks 👍
Excuse me sir your drill is on the hammer setting LOL I can't watch anymore
Steve-O and fam no keep watching!!! All thread is keeping it square!!! 😂
Actually it’s a impact drill not hammer setting (which is for concrete )
So you’re right you shouldn’t watch anymore.
Stephen Schindler 0:53 the drill is on hammer
@@LewisOrchard it's the clutch setting...look at the numbers on the drill where it's set
impact drivers are far better than normal drills...
Dude, Beautifully done.........
Vilkkuvat valot saunassa?
Ai kauheaa kun ottaa silmiin moiset turhakkeet.
Luulin saavani epileptisen kohtauksen sitä katsellessani.
1) the thread rod costs only 5 bucks, it's inside the wall and simple to align
2) The bench rests on braces on the side and on the back.
Would the roof not having a cover be a concern for rain water leakage, and ice in the cracks during winter separating the wood?
so far so good. just ensure that the bitumen felt is overlapping. Also cover the roof corners down to the wall
Your wardrobe is very confusing, and I dig that about you
Cool, but what is the achieved temperature / humidity ?
80C without effort, 100C you need to heat up the oven well for around 1.5h
