    I love how the design includes the windows. I’ve only ever used saunas inside of larger structures (like at the gym) so never really considered the design of a standalone sauna. Looks great!

    I really like the design and it looks amazing. However, I would personally swap the place of the bench and the stove. You want to sit on the side where the roof is highest, because that's where heat will pack in as warm air raises to the top. It's ok to have the light bringing window behind you. ~Greetings from Finland.

    • @stefaniekuhlman6457
      @stefaniekuhlman6457 9 месяцев назад +4

      But you see how then the door & benches would not play well together. You'd open the door and bench right there. Or you'd need to compromise the length of the bench....all for a little more hotness. This design is fine

    Beautiful sauna, nice work. Improvements, the heater should be at the side where the ceiling is lower and the benches on the opposite side as the heat moves to the higher areas, this to avoid heat pockets away from the seats. Also, inlet vents low on the same wall the heater is installed and outlet high on the opposite wall, to create the air flow carrying the hot air along the sauna. Possibly you don't have issues because is a small sauna.

    • @marchauwaert6466
      @marchauwaert6466 3 месяца назад

      As a rule, nothing that can offgass dangerous chemicals are alowed inside the sauna. So no treated lumber, plastics or anything like that. Rockwool is actually the inulation many people pick, its safe behind an aluminium foil vapor barrier. The only exception, is the floor. If your sauna is well designed, the floor will always be cold enough to have basically no offgassing.

      No they don’t help with weight loss that’s a common myth. They do help with muscle recovery tho.

    awesome sauna. unfortunately cedar isnt a great sauna wood, and the peak of the slope should be on the seating side of the sauna so that you can sit higher in the loyly pocket.

      But the seats would've been on same side of door in your plan, and you can see the problems that would pose

    How’s the Subaru holding up? I bought an Outback, in part, because of your video explaining why you purchased yours. Loving it so far.

      Biggest expense will be ~2.5k in T&G cedar at those dimensions.

    Is it common in the US to wear clothes in a Sauna? Quite strange to see for me as a European/German, haha… Great video as always Chase, keep up the good work! Kind regards

      It is fairly common. Growing up it was not a thing, but since moving it tends to just make things easier and people are certainly more comfortable that way.
      Thank you, I appreciate it!

      what do you mean strange?
      Here in the Netherlands you have a lot of "bath clothing" days. Just visit at the day you feel most comfortable.

    Did you DIY the entire thing? Do you have a rough total cost? Thinking of trying to DIY a sauna but I have a lot to learn in terms of basic construction skills.

      My buddy and I did, then I had a friend who is an electrician connect the heater/lights. Total cost was around $7k for material if I remember correctly. Cedar and heaters are spendy.

    Needs proper ventilation - an air intake at ground level near the kiuas and an air exit at a higher level.
