I love the way you reply to fans...most of the good instrumentalists are stuck up but your feedback to the fans will make your fan base grow... God bless you Emmanuel
@4 God I normally tune my snare to its natural tone(top and bottom equally)... Also at times I tune my snare to the key (5th degree) of songs if I'm in a recording session. Learned more about tuning from Dave Weckl's video...
bro I always like to watch the video all the time, but please can you help me too out am a very good drummer bro please am in Nigeria too bro please bro
how did you not cramp up and do some of your fill? I messed my leg up about 5 years back and never got back on a kit because what happens if I mess up, you know any advice for someone like me, please help.
Oh wow Francis. So sorry to hear about that. I do make sure I go through a stretching routine before I hop on the kit. Especially if I'll be playing for long. I make sure I walk around a lot or even do like a 10mins run if possible. Also I'll advice once you start playing, don't play with too much power especially when you get excited. Try never to play with too much power. Tell the sound engineers to increase the volume and you play less.
What’s the name of the song you started playing after 1 minute. The one that keeps repeating “arise”. I’ve heard it in many of your festival of life videos and I can’t get it out of my head. It’s catchy and I would like to hear how the original version sounds
Hey I just wanted to know any websites or any RUclips channels that helped you on your drumming or that can motivate drummers in improving their afro drumming skills
Ibukun Adegoke Hiya... I use more of DVDs and BOOKs... For Afro drumming i studied a bit of Horacio Hernandez, Alex Acuna, Tito Puente, AKira Jimbo, Dave Weckl...I kin'a developed my Afro(Afrocuban) drumming pattern from the techniques i learned from them... If you are about in London.. Drop by for my drum clinic...It's this saturday facebook.com/events/637241693087156/
OK thanks a lot for replying. Really appreciate it. I'm quite young so its a dream for me to play in a place like festival of life because I've been there a few times.I play for my church and I want to incorporate some things like your afro style where you predominantly use the snare and the toms and the cymbals
Hey I just want to say ur hand speed is so smooth and the way mover around the drums is precise. I wanted to know how did you get to that stage and how did you improve ur hand speed ?
Thank you so much. It's all in the Vater 55AA sticks lol.... Erm I just exercise as much as I can. I exercise with my rudiments...I also focus on my precision when I'm practicing.
Hiya... Started with 6-8hrs daily, and then reduced to 4hr and then 3hr. These days it varies...I'm always between 1hr-2hr-3hrs depending on how much i need to get prepared for what i've got ahead
stewart Vui Kun it's my brother that helps with it. But I overheard him saying stuff like 720p and normal... Not sure if he changed it. But Yh he is a beast with them tech stuff. Check him out @__jmatthewsticks
