@@melodi_music_official its irrelevant in my opinion who owns it or just how much money they have, that car may have a physical price tag, but think of it, that car is over 100 years old, the methods, knowhow and the people capable of making some or most of the parts, by original methods is long gone. If that car crashes, if it loses a body panel, any damage to the engine, anything at all, it will never be the same again. Yes they may have the money, and the modern day equivalent of a fix, but there are parts on that car that are simply irreplaceable. One minor issue and that cars value is irreprepably damaged, it's probably the reason that it's only worth 20m and is now owned by bentley, where its properly cared for. Somethings, money just cant replace, my friend!

That's the pure sound of a big engine with absolutely zero "anti pollution" features, zero filters, zero catalitic converters, zero fumes return valves, zero anything. Absolutely straight, clear piped engine from intake to exhaust. In early 1900s no one gave a fck about car pollution or even thought about it. Even though im all in favor of protecting our climate and our lungs and like how strict the modern rules are for combustion engines, we gotta admit that that completely pure, clear and beautiful big engine sound is absolutely lost to time, forever. And its one of the things that really give that car its 20 million value
Seeing a grid full of vintage Bentleys racing at full chat at the Goodwood Revival, I can testify that they are as much fun as the guys showed after having a ride around the runway! Brilliant and full props to the owner!

Doesn't matter where it came, the 93 year old Blower won, simply by the fact it happily did full sends up and down the runway. There are plenty of modern cars that have broke down or got a bit flaky in these drag races. I'm sure Bentley give that car a complete blank cheque to keep it in perfect condition, but still, I was genuinely impressed it did everything without a single problem, and the fact the Bentley guy was really chilled shows he had a lot of confidence in the old girl

Not sure about the modern ones, but the older Bentley's were designed to last a lifetime and not break. If by chance one did break and it had to be transported to Bentley for repairs they would cover the car so no one would know. Nowadays I have no idea if it is still the same though.
The morale victor of that race was the 93 year old Blower Bentley. It manages to remain quick without losing any of its majesty. Whilst commanding a price tag of a cool £20 million.
The fact that the difference between the newest & the oldest Bentley is just 10s is mind-blowing to me 🤯 I was expecting something like 30s of difference lol
Some cars of the 30s are deceptively quick. The engines produced an otherworldly amount of torque and made good power. Some describe the acceleration of those old beasts as if it were "the hand of God" pushing you forward. It was a weird but insane feeling when those things gained speed.
@@arcane6656 check out the 1939 Autounion type D. It had a top speed of 211 mph and you could induce wheelspin at over 100. That sucker was a monster of a racecar in its day and would still give most modern day cars a run for their money on a track.

What a great video this is. Kudos to Bentley for keeping the Blower in such great condition. Cars really do fall apart when not driven. I live in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. There is a couple who regularly drive their 1912 Ford Model T. In regular traffic! It is a beautiful rich red, and is original colour. The car was bought new by the gentleman's grandfather. It is always a thrill to see the old cars being used. I only wish there had been one more Bentley, a Continental from the mid-50s, with the sweet inline 6 cylinder. I also wonder how an original Speed Six would have fared.

What a great video this is. Kudos to Bentley for keeping the Blower in such great condition. Cars really do fall apart when not driven. I live in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. There is a couple who regularly drive their 1912 Ford Model T. In regular traffic! It is a beautiful rich red, and is original colour. The car was bought new by the gentleman's grandfather. It is always a thrill to see the old cars being used. I only wish there had been one more Bentley, a Continental from the mid-50s, with the sweet inline 6 cylinder. I also wonder how an original Speed Six would have fared.
