    Have been using Sennheiser Game One on PS4 and now on PS5, love the audio (soundstage and imaging) of it and will stick with it for couple more years; the DualSense drives it well @50ohms; no EQing needed.

    Nice review, I got the mobius for 120 off so slightly cheaper than the penrose, I really like them, but I don't game so use for closed back headphone, by headphone for music, videos etc. I am happy to report that after only 2 half months I only occasionally forget where the hell the right control is 😜 for what k want it to do

    I was really hoping that Audeze would improve the band to earpiece joint, as this is Fragile. I am about to purchase my 4th pair of the Mobius, and 2 of them snapped at the joint. Regardless, I will stay with them due to audio superiority and 7.1, or I would get the Penrose. Good job.

    Bought these yesterday to game on PS5 mostly shooters. I'm replacing my Astro A20 which I thought was decent enough. I just wanted something more. I also bought some wicked cushions to try and replace the ear cups. Which I'll have to do a little custom work to make it work on the Penrose. Also have to wait until July to get them according to Audeze.

    With the WAVES NX Mix ROOM software, the 3d surround soundstage problem is solved, just download the software, I think this software could already be native to Audeze! Saving the equalization profile in Penrose via software, when listening
    on the smartphone via bluetooth is it accepted or do I need to configure
    another preset on the smartphone? Did you create any presets for PUBG and CS GO
    or did you use the standard FPS from the Audeze software?

    • @davetechme

      @@bspinnfade I agree. I had the Penrose and it sounded amazing but I couldn't stomach the cost so I returned it. I ended up getting the Orbit S instead which is supposedly just the Mobius without BT. I never got a chance to do a side by side comparison but I really wish I didn't return the Penrose because my memory says it sounded better for my PC.
      The Penrose just had a very visceral and engrossing sound quality during gunfights, like I could actually feel the bullets wizzing by. I loved it. I don't have that same feeling with the Orbit S. I don't know, maybe it's all in my head since I can't compare.
      HD sound on the Orbit S does sound good (not available on the Penrose) and it sounds leagues better than the Cloud 2 without question. But the volume is lacking compared to the Penrose such that for Siege, I keep the Orbit S at 100% compared to something much lower on the Penrose (

    • @brianandreasen2200
      @brianandreasen2200 3 года назад +1

      Funny that’s actually what I returned my penrose to get was the orbit S. Volume wise I did compare them they’re the same. I like her orbit S a lot but with the dongle issues I was having I didn’t want to try the mobius after my experience with the penrose. Love the orbit S.

    • @davetechme
      @davetechme 3 года назад

      @@brianandreasen2200 Are you using HD audio? 2 channel and 7.1 volume are fine but HD audio is pretty low for some reason. I prefer it since it gives a much wider soundstage vs the others including surround sound.

    Question about the mic, you said that was in wireless mode, can you use it in wired mode? Pretty much every wireless gaming headset I've ever heard has crap mic quality but if it's usable in straight wired mode it would probably sound significantly better.

    • @NyteStalker89
      @NyteStalker89 3 года назад

      You can use it wired. Keep in mind that the headset needs to be powered on so if you have a Dac/Amp you would need to lower its volume and use the volume wheel on the headset to adjust volume. Mic sounds amazing when wired. Wireless they limit the mic quality to keep audio quality high. Also, recording into premiere pro is not a good representation of what the mic actually sounds like in discord or teamspeak. The mic is hot garbage wireless.

      No. They're expensive, so buying a separate set for just music isn't something a lot of people are going to entertain. Knowing of they perform for both functions is useful. Also they're wireless so portability and listening to music on the go is a plus, especially for a planar magnetic design and especially for Audeze.
      I'm waaaaaay more interested in this for music applications away from home. Pretending a closed back headset with a shit wireless mic will beat my open backs and a dedicated wired mic is hilarious.
