It is sad that people get so sad about the cost. If you can't justify the expense then don't buy one. Everyone makes there own value judgments on things like cars, houses , the city or suburb you live in, clothes etc. If it is not worth it to you then don't buy one. The companies don't seem to have any issue selling every bike they make.
E-bikes are a high end option for those who cannot or WILL NOT pay their bicycle dues by putting in saddle time. I'm curious about ebikes, but, I'm not convinced they're a good fit for mtbiking. I'm no podium shredder, but, I get around just fine using John-power.

If everyone spoke by not spending that much prices would come down. There is no way the cost of production, R&D etc is more for a bicycle than a motorcycle or small car.

These prices make me love my derestricted 2019 Kenevo received new for $5300, freaking way more. The few changes are not gonna add anything to the absolute speed in the woods, over my bike. I use ECO mode to climb, other modes for flat out speed. Would i like it to weigh 42 pounds? For sure, but the trade off in absolute speed through rolling terrain that the new smaller motor delivers, drops the issue.
That's crazy expensive, you can get a brand new KTM 500 EXC-F six days for $13000, that's 2 grand cheaper than the top model Kenevo, and it has an internal combustion engine.

in 2018 specialized released the kenevo with 180mm but 27,5 . As all my bikes are 29ers I want a 29er bike to be compatible with the others, it is usefull when you travel or live in a place without bike shops nearby, as I do. In 2018 I got the 2019 stumpjumper and said that when specialized releases a kenevo 29er I would buy it. But this one here isn´t what I was expecting. I wish it was like the older model but bigger wheels. And I am not going to buy the older one and make it a mullet.

It’s a combination of demand, manufacturing scarcity, the cost of R&D, inflation and the quality of material. All of that combined in this current economic climate means the market is willing to pay a premium to get this product. A lot of people have a lot of money at the moment, our means of production cannot keep up with our credit cards

Have you ridden an ebike long term to write such an opinion? It can do wonders for older riders and those with disabilities and for many it’s no faster then a regular bike. For trails requiring 1000ft and more climbs it opens up new adventures. These are not motorcycles no diff then a in shape 20yr old riding.

It really shows how pathetic people are nowadays. Caring about wether other people ride Mountainbikes that have some pedal assist or not... How sad does ones life have to be to get angry about that?
@enCore Nobody is angry at anybody, well, we aren't at least! There's no "hating" here. Different isn't bad, different is good. Different is people having fun on different toys!
Have you ridden an ebike long term to write such an opinion? It can do wonders for older riders and those with disabilities and for many it’s no faster then a regular bike. For trails requiring 1000ft and more climbs it opens up new adventures. These are not motorcycles no diff then a in shape 20yr old riding.
gtfo with those prices. I can buy a vehicle, bike rack, and full suspension bike and still have money left over.
