    One thing you can do to preserve your garlic is pureé and freeze them in ice cube trays, then pop out and put in freezer bags. Then you have it ready for soups!

    My OCD tendencies love how neat and tidy you are with everything. I’m learning so much from you - my next year’s garden will be much more organized thanks to picking up tips from you! Thanks for bringing us along!

      Thanks for watching! Defiantly a work in progress to get to this point, still wish I was a bit more organized lol but we are getting there. I, terrible at staying organized, even though I love things to be.

    I'm so happy to see you so happy at the wonderful gardening season! This is awesome! Just started out this year on .5 an acre and I'm in the desert, Northern AZ. The best thing that took off has been the zucchinis. But everything else, I've learned I need to cover faster and get established beds going because they aren't producing anything else yet. My herbs are doing OK, but not great, and I'm fighting quail and their babies haha. They got to my radishes. Still, love the learning process, and I'm excited to keep watching - you're inspiring me, because I'm also a stay at home wife and I preserve food and cook about as much as you do for you and your husband. I also crochet too, and I love seeing you work in the garden and crochet! Thanks!

    Thank you for bringing us along with you for your gardening chores. Such a lovely video, I really vibe with yiur positivity. ☺️🥰🎉 also, feeling really inspired to try and perserve peppers now! I had never considered making powders or flakes but we did get a dehydrator this year- I need to try it out. So far its only been used for my husband making beef jerkey (so yummy!)

    Everything looks amazing !! yes I need vertical symmetry - July is so busy I wish I could take the whole month off from work to work outside in the garden -- we are a few weeks behind from the cool weather and the smoke from the wild fires - just had lots of rain I cant wait to see the garden pop

    LOVED that cool cloudy Friday (or was is Sat? I already forgot) we had! Felt more like a late September day than mid-July. Was a great day for new round of seeding and transplanting!

    I am so amazed at your cayenne peppers! I’m growing some too, but if I wait until they’re red they have soft rotted areas forming. None of my peppers are fully red. I started picking them once they start turning. Kind of have a blackish red color, or else they will rot. I also wonder if you’ve ever had hot peppers cross pollinate with sweet peppers? Have always been told not to plant them to close to each other. One year several years back I picked a bunch of bell peppers for a church salad and found that my semi hot Anaheims had crossed with my bells. Ruined my salad. They were no way planted very close to each other.

    Your garden seems to be the perfect size for you and husbands food/flower needs. So many gardeners grow way too much to maintain their gardens and end up losing so much because of it. I love the idea of making my own herbs and powdered spices. Do you only grow hard neck garlic? Will you grow soft neck this fall also as it stores longer? Also, how long does it take to brush your cats fur, lol! Love the cats.

      We honestly need way more space then what I have to grow enough food to sustain us. I do the most I can but it doesn't but a dent in some of the things Id like to produce. I have only planted hardneck. I do plan to throw some soft neck in the loop this upcoming year. I brush daily for 5-10 min

    Another Kansas Gardener here! I'm enjoying your videos, but you keep saying you have crabgrass in your garden, but what you have is Bermuda grass. I feel the need to point this out since others are learning from you. Keep up the good work! Your garden looks awesome.

    Bre, I wonder if you could get some brown jars for your spices. Light, to me, seems to help them to lose their potentcy. Just a thought. Love your vids! Lots of ideas and tips. What is the name of the pepper you planted for the cayenne powder.

    • @itsbreellis
      @itsbreellis  11 месяцев назад

      Good idea! Most my food storage is in the basement in a dark room so it should be alright in the clear jar but I wouldn't mind having some amber colored jars around to help with just that! The pepper variety is this one - www.johnnyseeds.com/vegetables/peppers/hot-peppers/red-rocket-organic-cayenne-pepper-seed-2672G.html its a new one for me this year, really liking it so far!

    How many pepper plants do you have planted for a years worth?

    • @itsbreellis
      @itsbreellis  11 месяцев назад

      I have 9. I planned to have more but unfortunately a few of my starts didn't make it. Last year I believe I had 8. My plan for this year was 12, but so far these peppers are bigger and producing more than years past so maybe ill get lucky!
