This garden was an unexpected surprise! I visited Findhorn and happened to be walking past, and a local member who walking me around suddenly said something about Cornelia having a nice garden! We spoke to Cornelia, and when I turned the corner and saw her garden I knew it had to be featured! Thank you so much to Cornelia for allowing me to film with no notice, and being a fan of this channel beforehand! I only had 2 hours left before I had to make a trip down to the Lake District that same afternoon so it was all systems go! I really hope you are as inspired as I am with this garden, and thanks to my colleague Charlie for a fantastic job with the editing!😀
Thank you! I am in my 60s and can't bear the thoughts of not being able to garden because of physical restraints. She has given creative ideas and hope for many more years of gardening.
Wow! Cornelia was willing to be filmed without notice - what a great sport and such a natural! And Huw, you are so spontaneous and wise to recognise a treasure and to seize the opportunity when you saw it!
I’ve almost given up gardening because of physical problems……it’s been devastating after a lifetime of gardening being my life’s true love…..this video has inspired me to keep trying and given me ideas about how to accommodate my physical limitations! I can’t thank you enough Huw…..❤️💫❤️
I hope you’re finding ways to keep gardening and maintain contact with all the life that goes on in and around them - of plants, birds, insects, soil; and hopefully your own vitality. Best to you ✨
Beautiful, I have suffered extensively with depression through my 20s and early 30s and with help I have come to realise recently that its not depression at all, I am just extremely unhappy with many parts of society and i have been so disconnected from a more natural way of life that it was making me ill. What Cornelia has achieved is what I am aspiring to do, I'm a long way off but I will get there or die trying.
Steve, I believe that "being disconnected from the more natural way of life" along with the way we see the direction the world is currently taking, is probably the root cause of many people's depression. I sure hope that what you are aspiring to do works out well - and it should if it involves gardening and working towards self reliance - and that you won't "die trying." Cheers mate, Shin.
The second you shut yourself off from the outside world (society) and focus on what you want to achieve for self (purpose) your feelings will dissipate in time as you start to reconnect with nature (gaia) and she will direct you the more you put the time in x
agreed. many many going through this experience, the news won't show it but there's a revolution of folks returning to more natural ways of being, what a beautiful thing to be apart of. it's going to make for a better world, and happier minds, so cheers to that!
Look to Jesus. I felt the same as you, depressed with the state of the world but then I met some lovely people telling me about relationship with God was what it was all about. They told me Jesus was alive and I didn't know if it was true but I knew I had to seek the TRUTH and see if I could find a personal relationship with Him... Wow! Wasn't that the beginning of a whole new discovery that changed EVERYTHING! if you're looking for hope and meaning, peace love and joy- look for Jesus and find He is the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE !!! 💗💗💗
My three year old never ate cucumbers, i offered them almost daily and she always refused...until i started growing them. She got such joy from picking them off the vine and eating them in the garden! So now if I am not growing cucumbers, i will go and hide store bought cucumbers in the veggie patch and she usually finds them and gets super excited and eats them on the spot!
"Truly a luxury...", can't agree more. The garden is beautiful 🌻 Thanks for showing us her garden, and thanks to Cornelia for sharing her ways 🐞It feels comforting and reassuring that there are ways to adjust a bit and be able to still garden, even when the body is not quite cooperating any longer.
How nice to see a person dressed in light colours. 😍 That's certainly not a coincidence that you've met. We had to see this film for an ultimate inspiration for the new season. Another beautiful garden in not perfect climate! Anyone who still is not sure when to start - START NOW! Let's change this world - one garden at a time. 🤗 Thank you all!
What a beautiful attitude she has! When a health concern made it difficult to garden, instead of giving up she developed a better way to garden. And, she supplements the beds with good quality compost, that "allows me to feed the ground as it feeds me."
As a Complex PTSD sufferer, I have found that your videos are just as therapeutic as the actual gardening. Inspiration is a great tool for those who suffer from depression and PTSD. Thank you.
Huw, another beautiful garden that you can tell has been put together over the years. I have noticed that each person you have highlighted in the videos have such a peace about them and it obviously comes from gardening. So many people think the 'work' of gardening is just too much and it's difficult to explain the joy and peace that it can bring to your daily schedule. I appreciated seeing the raised beds and I am at a point where I need to think about that addition to our gardens after having four back surgeries and dealing with Axial Spondyloarthritis. There is always something to learn from your videos, Huw! Happy for you and proud of you for all that you are able to accomplish. Keep following your heart in all you do!
Thank you Darin, it really is wonderful! Gardening is such a great way to have a little sanity in modern life and is also one of the best ways to connect with nature and also the seasons. Yes I definitely recommend you consider the tall raised beds, quite truly magnificent! Thank you so much for watching and commenting and have a lovely weekend.
Hey Huw, I really liked this video also. This is the story of the person that meets the wall as an obstacle. Now breeching an obstacle and then doing the work of gardening can be a big task. If someone is overwhelmed they may just give in. Yet this story is about someone using objects of discard to create a new garden bed and overcoming some engineering design success was born. I am 100% disabled and my entire garden is modified to my ability to manage it. So I really like how this garden is modified and yet still beautiful. take care bye for now
What a lovely gardener! I am much like her, 57 years old, I have primarily an edible garden with flowers designed to best benefit my garden as either attractors of beneficial insects or as deterrent for the not beneficial ones. I have turned a small suburban yard into a garden which has brought me so much joy growing organic herbs, fruits and veggies. I have now three raised 30 inch high beds that are eight by four feet in length. I also have other beds but I am considering turning them also into raised beds. I have the great good fortune to have shelves filled with the fruits of my labour from canned veggies, jams and sauces, as well as dried crops as well. My stand up freezer is full and over half is my own produce or food stuffs I have foraged. I am in the process of building my own greenhouse with a small shed attached to the northern side to store my gardening tools. Thank you so much for this video, just listening to this wonderful impassioned gardener has re-inspired me to get out my saved seeds and start working on my garden plan for this upcoming season. I really appreciate the re-inspiration to focus on something that has brought me so much joy. It was a really rough 2021 and I am so lucky to be here now. Thanks!
Just finished working on my veggie plots, opened a beer, logged on, then I am welcomed with this great video, resonates so much with me. I have a book on Findhorn, what an amazing and surreal account. Thanks Cornelia and Huw.
I can't tell you how much I love these videos. You guys do such a wonderful job letting the gardeners talk for themselves, and editing yourself out. It's really like being there. And I can't agree more that harvesting your own food is truly a luxury. The first time I harvested my own garden produce I was HOOKED. I just feel so lucky to have food growing right outside my door; no grocery stores, no plastic bags, no limp kale and slimy salad greens, just me and my bowl full of dinner.
Lovely to see a scottish garden! I’m in Aberdeenshire, so sometimes I feel like we are on a different planet to warmer climates.....thanks Huw, & thank you Cornelia ....looks beautiful
Huw, your channel has hands down the loveliest, most visually pleasing style of any gardening channel I watch. It's mainly the shooting, although the editing is always on point as well, but really, huge congrats for doing that unsung work. Thank you for making my day prettier.
Thank you very much, Huw. Really a very nice surprise to find Cornelia and her beautiful garden. It seems she could talk about her gardening for hours like us because it is a passion. We are nature in nature. See you.
Really inspiring 👍 We have the same problem with sand and we have to build up soil constantly. So it's good to see what she has achieved. It's so lush. Amazing that she can eat 52 weeks per year from her garden 👏 We're working on it 😉
What a beautiful video and such a lovely lady. One commentator has mentioned how peaceful and relaxed all your guest gardeners are and it is true. Gardening is just so good for our mental health. I have just returned from working on my allotment where I am beginning to develop no dig beds. It was a sunny morning and I sat with my coffee and reflected on my progress and felt my spirits lift. Many thanks to you and your team.
She so belongs in the garden! Enjoyed it immensely. Love seeing and hearing about others experiences, especially with years of experience; what did or did not work for them. Love that you visualized an opportunity for a wonderful impromptu video! Thank you.
It is like an unspoken language; listening 'between the actual words' to see and feel the joy she has from being amongst her garden. Growing things binds us together and we all speak this language of the soil.
Lovely...also as you mentioned your son not liking veg ~ they often don't like cooked veg, but Children love eating raw vegetables & freshly picked even better 🍀
Thank you for this wonderful video! And to Cornelia for being willing to share with no notice!😊 It makes me think I might want to make higher raised beds. I so agree with what a luxury it is to eat what you grow from the garden!✨💕
I can really understand the raised beds at hip high. I just don't bend well at 68, but still love to be in my garden. Loved this video, please share more! Thanks for letting us into your garden.
So beautiful...I think what you eat also plays a large role in your emotional and mental health, at the same time spending time in a garden is a good grounding or mindfulness activity
Its always great to see other gardens and how lovely that you share the creative gardens on your channel. Im looking forward to witnessing our farm transform into lush gardens. Thank you for sharing ★ 🌍 ★
Creeping Jenny forms a lush ground cover and it roots along its stem. The yellow green color would look beautiful on the left side of the path, almost like a lawn. It can remain in place as a living mulch if Laura chooses to plant something in addition creeping Jenny later.
What a wonderful woman and garden! I thoroughly enjoyed this interview. I’ve been to the Scottish Highlands, and I’m super impressed that Cornelia is getting these kinds of results even further north. Thank you for this, Huw.
Nice, tidy and adundant garden. Nice to see more and more people being able to have and use undercover growing space year round too. I would be lost without my tunnels now...Steve...😃
Definitely a tranquil space. I blew a disc and have another threatening to go, so I have been really trying to redo my gardening space to avoid hurting myself any worse. Dabbling in raised beds and vertical gardening for this year.
Such a happy lady! I'm currently adding a bit more each year to my garden as well. Love learning from people who have been happily doing this for a long time!
My and my husband are quite young, but we designed a garden and started building it by ourselves, I was like: "I want the vegetable garden beds at hip height". So we did. And I'm so glad!! I'm not to lazy to bend, it's just a 'work smarter not harder' thing. We got free bricks and made them with that. It's also very nice to sit on the edge and enjoy the garden. Especially when they get warmed up in the sun! This video is amazing. Man, I can't wait till spring and summer
What a lovely conversation! Thanks Huw and Cornelia for sharing your knowledge with us. I felt so much at peace for some reason after listening to Cornelia. Thanks for also explaining how you fill the tall raised beds - I need to do this for my mum. Very grateful to you, Huw for featuring such amazing inspirational gardeners, yourself included. Lastly I loved the idea of using pots on pillars and then hanging the netting on them for the raised bed - why didn’t I think of it before!!!
Thank you. It's wonderful and very satisfying to hear your very own golden observations from your Garden..to wit, its " true wealth....richness...joy....to eat from it, direct link to food & appetite " etc. Indeed.
This IS a very wonderful little vignette into this wonderful gal's garden!!! Wonderful to listen to and fabulously green in the North of Scotland on the North Sea no less!! but she is describing her raised beds- and I cannot fathom what she means by make a pillar. Can you do a video on her raised beds and how she made them? Much appreciated. Thanks.
If you have sandy soil, you'll love seeing what Jim Kovaleski is able to do in a suburban yard, on sugar sand soil, in New Port Ritchie, FL ( Florida, USA ). Justin Rhodes just did a vlog on a visit to his place, having been there for his " great American farm tour " vlog series a few years ago, and Pete Kanaris of Green Dreams, in FL, does vlogs featuring Jim.
Oh, wow, Huw! Thank you. Seeing this brought tears to my eyes. Findhorn was among the first garden books I ever read, back when I was just a very young thing! Long before I had any gardens, lol! At one point I had high hopes of making it there to visit, 80’s-early 90’s…now I don’t even dream of leaving my state let alone my town, can’t even imagine dreaming of leaving the country since covid… was a long time ago, different world, findhorn was seeds in my heart. & this, this video, food for the soul! I am in the northeastern USA, with the ground frozen rock hard & there is talk of a blizzard with a foot or a few of snow tonight & tomorrow! The warmth shared here does so much for those of us sitting , waiting, with out cold jars of seeds! We are here watching & waiting for warmer times! Thank you to all who came together to get these videos up & out on RUclips!
Ooooow, such a heartwarming lady and her abundant and colourful garden!! So much work on that so that it gives u back food 52 weeks per year!! Wooow! Thanks for sharing this 👏🌿 greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷
So lovely!! Thank you for sharing Cornelia and her wonderful garden! My biologist and artist mother- in law got the Findhorn Garden book in the 70s, and we began gardening with nature! They were already using mounded beds, and reading with the seasons.
Oh thank you so much for showing a "sand" soil and what can be accomplished with that. I too live with that type of soil and you give me HOPE! Thank you again!
Absolutely wonderful Huw. A total credit to Cornelia and fantastic filming, editing and production as usual. Your becoming quite a pro at.this production thing now Huw! On another note, I can completely relate to Cornelia and her raised beds as I also have some physical restrictions that make it very difficult to work at low levels, so my beds are 500mm high. It works and enables me to enjoy my passion for gardening which otherwise wouldn't be possible. Well done all and thank you for sharing your world. Phil 👨🌾
Muchas gracias!!! Hermoso todo su jardín de vegetales!!!! Nos enseña que nada es de la noche a la mañana sino que un huerto/jardín biodiverso se construye con los tiempos de la Naturaleza!!!!
Her talking about how her son wouldn't eat vegetables unless he picked them himself reminds me of my son. He's 3 years old and pretty picky like I was, but whenever we go over to my in-laws he chows down on almost whatever he can pick whether it be fresh grapes or blackberries or peas he will at least try it. I am working on creating a garden in our backyard, it is very small and we won't live here for much longer hopefully, but that just means I have to get creative with the space! This is so very cool to watch as I one day wish to have a garden we can eat year-round from
So beautiful! Completely different from what I'm dealing with - but so much inspiration 😍 And putting out these videos in the dead of winter is brilliant as well, Huw! Makes one dream of spring 🌱
What an amazing garden and Cornelia has such a great bond of natural power to her garden, you can even feel it when she is talking about her little green paradise. Thanks for showing!

Fantastic. After reading a book on Findhorn, I visited there in 1995 while hiking around Scotland. What a wonderful place (and lovely nature spirits).
Good job!!!
She seems delightful!
Thank you! I am in my 60s and can't bear the thoughts of not being able to garden because of physical restraints. She has given creative ideas and hope for many more years of gardening.

I was going to say similar..i think shes brave wearing a white dress in the garden. I would be a mess after 5 min

It sure is Teresa!
I love when you film other gardens. Makes me feel like it’s attainable for me

Awh what perfect timing!!! So glad you enjoyed it😊
It's supposed to be magical. The soil is shit, the weather is shit. But stuff GROWS!
@@suecollins3246 Apparently because of the involvement of the "Nature Spirits".
"Eat what needs to be eaten from the garden" ❤

A hip height garden. That’s so brilliant!
I love that she made a beautiful garden out of sand.
Lovely and so nice to see another gardener with a disability figuring out how to make their passion accessible :D
Our choice of words reflects our attitude. Thanks to Cornelia I will now tell myself it's time to play in the garden, have fun and be joyful.
Lovely to see a scottish garden!
I’m in Aberdeenshire, so sometimes I feel like we are on a different planet to warmer climates.....thanks Huw, & thank you Cornelia ....looks beautiful

Yes this is true luxury for me ❤️ everything looks amazing because of the love you feel and give ❤️
Having lived in north-east Scotland and experienced the climatic challenge, I can really appreciate what Cornelia has achieved. What a joy!
Thanks Cornelia for sharing her garden with Huw Richard's subscribers/viewers and she has done a fantastic job and it's a beautiful garden.
Thank you so much for watching David!

You are really very very lucky madam,I will pray God to give this type of stressfree life
If that’s a Scottish accent it’s the first one I haven’t needed subtitles for. Rather fabulous work. High marks.
what a beautiful garden, what a beautiful woman! thank you both, Huw and Cornelia. oh, and Charlie too :-)
She looks like a joyous butterfly in a garden! I wish I live that way someday...
So very lovely & contented. A true inspiration for our Czech farmhouse garden. I’ll be coming back to this. 💗
Positively charming! 💚 How fortunate for us all that the timing worked out for Cornelia share her lovely garden - gardeners are such wonderful people!
Findhorn is a very blessed and special place, with great spiritual history, but we can all do it in our gardens. Permaculture is the key.
Absolutely !
Ahhh. People who spend a lot of time in the garden have such a serenity about them. Goals❤️

Raised Beds are the way to go! Much easier on your back :)
Absolutely it is the true worth. Richness.
Very inspiring to see someone with back problems find a way to continue gardening! Love this.

Great to hear. Absolutely :)
It's fun!
Hello 👋 dear ,how are you doing?
Thanks.
yes, this is true wealth! what a beautiful lady and garden x
As a gardener on sandy soil, this was an inspiration for sure! Thank you for sharing this delight 😊
Nature and outdoors is my savior 🙏
Wonderful film, Huw. What a treasure she is and her use of palletts for raised beds was inspirational.
Well done, sir.
Thank you so much Douglas!!!
What a beautiful garden! This is definitely the dream.
Can't wait for things to look like that in Scotland again.
Ooooow, such a heartwarming lady and her abundant and colourful garden!! So much work on that so that it gives u back food 52 weeks per year!! Wooow! Thanks for sharing this 👏🌿 greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷
You're Welcome! Thanks for Watching :)
So lovely!! Thank you for sharing Cornelia and her wonderful garden!
My biologist and artist mother- in law got the Findhorn Garden book in the 70s, and we began gardening with nature! They were already using mounded beds, and reading with the seasons.
That was beautiful. She is lovely and her garden is what a garden aspires to be. Loved.
I absolutely love how she talks about her garden❤
That was a wonderful video. Thanks to everyone involved ⭐️🌼👍
You're very welcome :)
Wow love your garden, everything looking fresh and green ❤️❤️❤️
Lovely lady. Thank you for sharing with us.
Nice and Beautiful Garden, God give you long life God bless you
Wonderful garden; and great shooting !!! 😍😍😍
its great to hear this woman talk about her love of her garden

It inspired us to grow vegetables for ourselves.(Thailand)
You said it…true wealth!
Muchas gracias!!! Hermoso todo su jardín de vegetales!!!! Nos enseña que nada es de la noche a la mañana sino que un huerto/jardín biodiverso se construye con los tiempos de la Naturaleza!!!!
Thank you, I am the same I feel my garden and it tells me what’s next, where to water etc. ❤️🦋🌈
This is so very cool to watch as I one day wish to have a garden we can eat year-round from
What a beautiful lady sitting in a beautiful garden. Thank you for showing this garden in the video.
So beautiful! Completely different from what I'm dealing with - but so much inspiration 😍
And putting out these videos in the dead of winter is brilliant as well, Huw! Makes one dream of spring 🌱
What an amazing garden and Cornelia has such a great bond of natural power to her garden, you can even feel it when she is talking about her little green paradise. Thanks for showing!
sandy soils are easier to work with than clay, i would think. but then again, you grow on whatever soil is available to you...blessings to all
Wonderful visit with lovely Cornelia, Huw. Thank you!
