It is always such a pleasure to visit Shambhala Farms! This place really has it all. Craig's story is personally really inspiring to me. He is one of the most passionate food growers I've had the pleasure of meeting and I'm so impressed with his online course. If you're wanting to grow your own food, whether you're growing in a window, a balcony or a huge farm, the Shambhala Food Garden Transformation course is one I highly recommend. Craig has created a very special offer for our Living Big audience, so be sure to check it out! www.shambhalaliving.com.au/livingbigspecialoffer
Somehow I think IF Bryce and Rasa decided to settle anywhere, this would be it. * also In the US we pronounce it shaam-baah-la (like the song). There’s a shambala center in Boulder, Colorado (I visited with a member once).
I firmly agree with what this guy said about getting your hands in the soil. It is better than any talk therapy I've ever had. I adore the smell of fresh damp earth. It's like a high that can't be reproduced by anything else, because I believe it releases endorphins that make you feel so good. I hope Bryce, that you and Rasa will do a video of his tiny home and/or tiny homes on the property. It would be amazingly interesting to hear their perspective on such a unique way of living. TFS
Bryce, even you have bought forest. You can develop like this Sambhala farm. I would like to see a complete tour of this farm. This video reminds the previous video of earthquake affected lady, whose parking spot is here
This so exciting to me! It gives hope for the future instead of despair. All of the crops looked so beautiful and healthy! Thank you for this wonderful video Bryce and Rasa. ❤️
The journey of this young family is awe inspiring, even at age 74 I still garden and practice permaculture on my tiny inner city plot in Florida. You can no longer see my house for the fruit trees and veggies planted to hide me away and feed my soul and belly...such peace is had even in a huge city full of humans...I have created my own Shambhala, each day is a dream come true...AWESOME, thank you...!
Me too! 77 I studied Permaculture prior to moving to my 3.44 acre farmland, and have created a rainmaking food garden hiding my home from the country road💚
This must be the most important video Bryce has presented. Crucial, inspiring, beautiful, soothing, thought-provoking---just good things. Very big thank you.
I feel the tiny house movement often involves a lot of making a smaller impact on the environment or even counteracting the negatives of human existence by creating a large outdoor space full of vibrant plants and natural ecosystems. I think it would be a great addition to the channel. So often tiny home videos have a large garden with or block of land and the owners so frequently emphasise the importance of being outside.
This is a topic that needs to be discussed and I didn't mind that the tiny houses played second fiddle to the permaculture concept. Kudos, Bryce and Rasa for bringing Shambhala Sanctuary to a bigger audience. We need inspiration like this that espouses alternative ways of living
We are celebrating my granddaughters 12th birthday this weekend and one of the gifts we bought her was a seed starter kit that came with a book telling her when to plant and how to care for her crop. 🎉
I love this, Bryce. I live in a unit which has very little garden. in 2020 I began to panic about food security, and planted a tiny strip behind my house in whatever seeds were available to grow in March in NZ when my potential garden loses the sun. Last year i harvested sufficient silver beet, lettuce, courgettes and green onions to feed myself and my neighbor. So satisfying.....
That’s fantastic! It’s amazing how much you can achieve in a small space. When I first got into permaculture, I lived in a city apartment. There, I had a balcony where I was growing all kinds of food, flowers and even had a worm farm. It’s amazing how much produce you can grow on even a small balcony. If I stayed longer, I was planning to design a beehive that I could hang over the edge. In a way, I’m even more excited about urban permaculture and rewilding because there’s so much potential to turn our urban and suburban spaces into incredible ecosystems.
First thought: moving there right now. Second thought: I just have one acre, but I will do my best to create something like this! Thank you for being a role model for all of us!!!
Yep, an acre is a lot of land. My sister makes do with less than an eighth of an acre and she now has a mango and pawpaw trees in full bloom and vegetables that feed her family.
A totally important message - to grow in whatever space you have available. I used to have big organic gardens, but, because of physical health issues, I now practice small-space gardening. As was said here - anything you can produce yourself is meaningful. Thank you for concentrating on these vital truths.
This is my absolute dream! Growing food, inspiring a tiny community, yoga retreats, bee keeping, permaculture. It all goes hand in hand. Beautiful life.
When he mentioned that 2008 was a wake up call, he really was right. I never thought about it before, but now I realise it was a wake up call that we wanted and did ignore for the most part. Society really can’t carry on the way it is, no matter how we convince ourselves. I’m already growing trees, food and flowers in the garden while continuing to develop it, but I wish I had started a lot sooner. Great video x
Absolutely AMAZING. This is one of the best videos you did. Love it. I hope it inspire more people to go back to the rural areas of their countries and live a healthy and sustainable lives. Blessings
Wash away my troubles, wash away my pain With the rain in Shambala Wash away my sorrow, wash away my shame With the rain in Shambala Everyone is helpful, everyone is kind On the road to Shambala Everyone is lucky, everyone is so kind On the road to Shambala
"Food in the garden is better than money in the bank". That was worth the price of admission so-to-speak. Great video and I love the concept of how they're living and providing for themselves and for others.
I've been dreaming up a project that would look so much like this! Tiny houses, permaculture, retreat center, community living. Wow! It is so heart warming to see that this exists, and inspires me to make my own version a reality. Thank you Bryce, and thank you to Shambhala for sharing :)
That little girl is radiating happiness and her smile looks like it's pure love they are raising a great person in a wonderful environment dad and mom should be proud of what they are doing they are setting an example for the world great job guys
Bryce & Rasa, I don’t know how you do it, but you find the most amazing, lovely, daring, inspiring people to showcase. It’s so nice to know that all these lovely, positive people exist & are trying to live their best lives and help others do the same. Thanks so much for sharing 😘🇨🇦
Man does this bring a smile to my face. I’ve been brought up by a grandfather that always grew his own food. Beautiful gardens. He was such an inspiration to me even at a very young age. I thought that it was so cool. Whereas others thought it was boring. I’ve never changed on my outlook of what my grandpa did back then. I’ve carried it until now. In my 40’s and growing and taking care of my own gardens. There is no money that can buy that can replace FRESH produce. The taste and nutrients from store bought to your backyard is immeasurable. This is such a beautiful piece of land that holds beautiful people. This is what will change the planet. One garden at a time. 🙏🏼❤️💯🤙🏼👍🏼
I love it here. This give me strength that through these hardships am waving through after everything stil i’ll make it to the finish line prosperiously with my kids❣️🥰🙏 i manifest this life away from crowd, peacefully and love all around🥰i see Blessings
Very glad you shared this with us Bryce. It is amazing what we can accomplish when we set our minds to it. This exemplifies the tiny house movement. Thank you! ❤
Oh, Shambala Farms is definitely Heaven on Earth! I love the banana trees, and abundant veggies, the yoga tent, the tiny house community, and the trampoline mandala garden in Craig's private garden. Thanks for sharing. Jenny
Wow this was great!! So informative and interesting too... A modern day Pete Cundall...I could just hear Pete saying, "so come on, did your hands deep into the blooming soil and get to know it"... Thanks to Craig for an inspirational video. Congratulations to he and his wife on what they have created. I hope the extended community took/take advantage of the knowledge he is now empowering them with and not just missing the fruit and vegetable aspect. And a Tiny Home Community too...not too many of those in Oz, I would love to see 100's more around the country. The number of WWOOF's and participants at the yoga studio show how many people are interested. Thanks Bryce and Rasa for bring us this episode...10/10 cheers from WA
Yes, it is a Treasure Bryce & Rasa ! Thank You both for the Introduction…. It is delightful to see how two people can create a world within itself ! All it takes is a teacher and a student to begin and go beyond. 🙏
This was truly inspiring. I did WWOOFing a decade ago while traveling in Aus. Being able to harvest fresh produce from the garden really felt amazing and you get a sense of gratification and gratitude for what you have.
This is one of the most inspiring videos on alternative lifestyles I have seen. Love so much about this. What a great guy Craig comes across as. The logical process of the Shambhala farm is wonderful to observe how he explained it. This is what the world needs now. Thanks for sharing such an excellent example of life as to how it should be.
so uplifting to see younger folk pick up the ethos, and then share knowledge and love and caring. I love the emphasis on community, and how one can do so much with intercropping, plant associations, and synergistic systems-based logics. Thank you for doing what you do! I feel so terrified for the kids of tomorrow, because we have really messed-up; this sort of message, irrespective of your beliefs, just works, as it brings productive hope to younger folk who care as deeply and are so worried about the trajectory we are on. These prosperity-oriented projects bring more than well-being, they create hope. I’m so touched, and relieved. Well done!
Fantastic episode! Permaculture and hardworking people that create a cohesive loving community is one of the greatest gifts you can give to others, and yourself. This was one of my favorites.
It's the best video ever with a family creating a special life for themselves and others. We have so much to learn from each other to create a sustainable life. thanks
This is one of the most inspiring video I've seen in a long time. What an amazing family farm, and the story to go with it. Thanks for sharing. Aloha from Hawaii
Thank you Bryce! Awesome video- I have always felt the combo of tiny/small living and permaculture is the best solution to so many cultural/earth problems. I've been practicing and preaching that on my 1/4 acre suburban plot for 5 years. Love seeing you feature a great combo of that here❤
This is a treasure video, Bryce & Rasa!! Thank you for sharing this one!! 🌴🍌🥦🍊🥕🍄🍅🌶 I absolutely believe we should all be getting back to the basics living off of the grid, and our own growing of all the food we eat! 👏 I would love to go spend some time there! ✌️🫶🇺🇲
Thanks for sharing this story. It was wonderful, a joy to listen to and watch 😀. If everyone took the advice given here the world would be a better place.
Yeeeeeees! Thank you Brice for venturing out into sharing this way of life. I pray it will inspire people all over the world to live closer to nature. 💛
This was such an inspiring and logical video Bryce and Rasa presented (not to say the other videos are not amazing as well) but I felt the message was loud and clear. Thank you for sharing this information and with that I have signed up for Craig's course so I can feed my family and be prepared for what is to come. We only have a courtyard area but I am confident I can make good use of our space and eat freshly grown organic food. AWESOME STUFF.......LOVING THIS CHANNEL
Truly amazing what this man has done with family and fellow community members. They'll survive anything that comes their way, living off the land like we were meant to.
I think I found my own Shambhala + Shangri-la...even seeing the video I could breathe the beautiful fragrance of Mother Earth...what abundance await us if we start even with a little...my heartiest congratulations to this family and all the other families who reside there and a huge thanks to Bryce for sharing this story with us...Namaste 🙏..love from India🇮🇳
I don't know how you do it but finding the special people in the world is your universal magic. This place is magical and the message of providing for your food needs is essential. The world has regressed since Covid and depression seems to be more and more prevalent. Connecting with the earth daily is free rejuvenation. Also food grown in your own garden tastes better and is healthier for our frequently ailing bodies. Thank you for sharing the important message and this amazing family's vision ❤❤❤❤.
When you live a life that you truly desire, a life of purpose, your own personal legend then you see that spark in the eyes when you talk about it. I felt the same for this person.
Just finished watching and immediately signed up, then watched the video again. Amazing Farm and vision of them both. "Community sufficiency" goes beyond community resilience; I haven't heard this concept mentioned for a long time. I used to organically grow vegetables, but I now live in a unit and recently started to go to the local community garden (unfortunately only open Sunday afternoon due to being on school grounds), I find it centres me and provides me connection with soil and plants
That’s awesome! It’s one of the best courses I’ve seen. Comprehensive content and beautifully filmed too! You’ll get a lot out of it. All the best for your future growing adventures! ❤️ And I especially love the concept of Community Sufficiency. I remember first hearing Toby Hemenway talking about this and the idea really resonated with me. So much emphasis is placed on self sufficiency these days which is exceptionally difficult to achieve. Working to build community to grow our resources together is the way!
Craig and His Family has a Beautiful Garden with the expansion of Other People Living on the Land. So many people have Food Allergies buying items from the store. So if You grow Your Own Foods this way You will know what You are eating. Thanks for Sharing Enjoyed and Blessings 🙌❤️🥰😇 From Pennsylvania,USA
Wow, how amazing...what an inspiring, educational video Bryce and to know anyone can live off grid have beautiful land and teach others...Also, being on grid you can do the same. If you can't or do not have space for this simple container gardening is awesome...no chemicals and everything you grow is fresh.. nothing like a garden tomato 🍅. Everyone can live on vegetables the recipes are endless.. so chock full of vitamins. Thank you for sharing
I love the idea of Perma culter and wish I had learned more about it at a younger age What a wonderful gardens Craig has here everything is so healthy nice way to provid his family through this work and it looks enjoyable as well. Love that this family has created a tiny home comunity with like minded individuals thank's Bryce for letting us see this Tiny home community created by Craig and his wife, Permaculture is such an important thing to learn for the enviroment and should be learned by all . I am so happy that all worked out for Craig and now his wife . His kiddies can pass it on to their children. Ontario , Canada
Shambhala Farms IS such a treasure! Wow. What an inspiration this beautiful space is! If we had more people living in communities like this, rather than isolated in individual homes on individual properties - as is usually mandated by local laws - I think we would have so many more healthier, happier people. The more I see videos that show tiny house communities sprouting up, where the residents are connected to each other and to the land, the more I see that we need to make changes in how we westerners choose to set up our societies. Once again, thank you Bryce and Rasa for a heart-warming, inspiring, beautiful video showing what is possible in the world!
You're so welcome and thank you for your lovely comment. I couldn't agree more with your outlook. This is cutting to the heart as to how we thrive as human beings. In positive community working together with nature.
I love how he manage the land by himself and so did the other family there. I've been doing this and still struggling. It's not easy, took a long time and so much effort. But, if you have a will there will be a way. He made it! The ideal and healthy environment for tiny house and build family, keeping the outside connection with good food. Thank you Bryce, for this such inspiring episode.

Me too!

I studied Permaculture prior to moving to my 3.44 acre farmland, and have created a rainmaking food garden hiding my home from the country road💚
Thanks for sharing this lovely message and for continuing to live in inspiring and regenerative ways ❤🌱
That's awesome. I would love to be able to live that life. I'm in the country and have 8 acres, and I'm 74 also. I think I'm too old to start now.
I like this direction you're taking incorporating tiny homes with permaculture, food gardens, community and more.
Thanks! We loved making this video and would love to do more along these lines.
I totally agree ❤❤❤
This must be the most important video Bryce has presented. Crucial, inspiring, beautiful, soothing, thought-provoking---just good things. Very big thank you.
Thanks so much! I'm so happy you enjoyed it. If we get enough interest, we would love to do more permaculture and garden tours.

THIS WAS SO INSPIRING AND PURPOSEFUL! Thank you very much
Love it!
Yes!
Shambala.
Now, that's what I'm talk'n about! That's real living - being connected with your environment, and family.
What a wonderful community to come from a dream.
This is some goals material.
And I especially love the concept of Community Sufficiency. I remember first hearing Toby Hemenway talking about this and the idea really resonated with me. So much emphasis is placed on self sufficiency these days which is exceptionally difficult to achieve. Working to build community to grow our resources together is the way!
Wonderful news ❤🎉🌱. We look forward to journeying with you on your food garden transformation. Reach out anytime
Wow this is absolutely incredible. Inspiring. I want to meet this family. This is what I want to do

@@livingbig AMEN!!!
Wow, what an incredible place, so beautiful!!!
That is such beautiful soil!
So beautiful
I love how he manage the land by himself and so did the other family there. I've been doing this and still struggling. It's not easy, took a long time and so much effort. But, if you have a will there will be a way. He made it! The ideal and healthy environment for tiny house and build family, keeping the outside connection with good food. Thank you Bryce, for this such inspiring episode.
