  • In this weeks episode, we venture to the beautiful sub-tropical Northern Rivers region of New South Wales to visit a spectacular off-the-grid tiny house on wheels, situated amongst stunning syntropic, regenerative, food forest gardens. For anyone who has dreamed of going off-the-grid and escaping to paradise to grow food and live simply, this is a video tour you will want to check out!
    This amazing tiny house is situated amongst wonderful syntropic gardens. Similar in many ways to permaculture syntropic farming is a form of dynamic regenerative agricultural forestry which uses a systems thinking approach to create an abundant, healthy, natural food forest. Focus is placed on formation of healthy soil biology and establishing microclimates so that food production and agriculture is synchronised with regeneration of the land. Super cool stuff!
    Equally as impressive as the gardens is the amazing off-the-grid tiny house on wheels. The home is solar powered with abundant rain water collection. A composting toilet helps to reduce the homes water consumption. Beautifully designed, there is abundant outdoor living space so that Anthony and Kirra can enjoy year round indoor / outdoor living.
    I hope you enjoy the full video tour of this incredible tiny home! To find out more about Anthony and Kirra's tiny house and regenerative agriculture adventures, be sure to follow them on Instagram: / little_house_in_the_wo...
    You. can also find out more about Anthony's work in plastic waste reduction via his website: www.plasticpollutionsolutions...

    I'm absolutely in love with the gardens around this home. After visiting Anthony and Kirra I started learning more about syntropic agriculture and I'm so excited about the possibilities it presents. It's always so inspiring to meet people who are so focused on solutions instead of problems. We as humans have such a great ability to be a regenerative force on the planet and it's so nice to be reminded of that. I hope you all enjoy the video tour of this beautiful off-the-grid home and regenerative garden. Love Bryce & Rasa

      Lovin this one. Didn't catch details so do they own the land? If so that's the only way to do this right way. Permits and own land. Otherwise just a glorified trailer park community paying someone else lot rent.

    • @xyzsame4081
      @xyzsame4081 4 года назад +14

      With the house - you have to be careful that you own the house and the stuff - and not the other way round. They paid 100,000 for the tiny home (but 8,000 for the deck and 10,000 for the solar installation). Add to that cost of land. And he saved money when he lived in the bus (always assuming he had his stuff in storage and did not have to finance an appartment.
      You can save a lot of money if you can live that way. At some point you can buy with a small loan or no loan at all - so when a crisis hits you will not lose your larger home. you are flexible to move etc.
      The FREEDOM is not to have a large home (which can be nice), and to have a lot of stuff (it breeds, as much space as you have, as much will be filled).
      The freedom is financial independence, resilience in case of reduced income, earlier retirement to travel the world etc.
      Last but not least avoided time to take care, secure, insure, clean and maintain your property. That is the part where the stuff owns you instead that you own the things.

    • @tachytachytach
      @tachytachytach 4 года назад +5

      @@kristianjoelbello8838 probably in rural areas it's fine but, it's hard to move houses like this here. If you're planning to have a tiny house in an urban area, high risk of getting your stuff stole (unless you park it in private places) but, mostly it's all subdivisions here so... this is nice to have in provinces.

Your videos help me relax and honestly, I loved the idea of living simply, close to the nature so much that I've already designed three to four tiny houses on my phone using an app and your Instagram handle and videos help me to be more innovative. It's just so peaceful to watch them.. And I've planned that one day, I'll definitely own a tiny house. I've basically added it to my list of goals in life. Fun fact: since now I know your height is 6'4", it helps me estimate the height of tiny houses and the lofts in the videos. I love hearing them! They're one of the markers of summer for me. (That and the ridiculous humid heat 🥵) Southwest USA is more desert-like (California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico). I used to live in Southern California (oceanic climate since we were on the coast, climate-wise I think similar to the Mediterranean) and I don't remember hearing cicadas there.

    Bryce...you are by far my favorite tiny home person to watch. You don't actually focus exclusively on the home itself as much as the reason behind why they made those choices and how well it works, what problems they had finding a place, what hasn't worked, what has...and even more importantly that these people doing this aren't simply doing it for financial reasons but trying to be healthier, more environmentally friendly and to me the most important reason getting back to our roots and being able to take back our ability to be self reliant, having the ability to support ourselves and our environment instead of relying on a Government that seems to want to either go back to socialism or a form of indentured servitude of the no longer middle class as the hard working poor.

    Cheers mate. Now that is a deck. When you have the climate to enjoy, may as well take advantage of it.
    One thing, after the summer we've just had with the fires I would clear that brush back further from the gardens. Not only that, I've been living in a rural area here in Aus for the last year and half and in the last 5 months (thanks to the rain and sudden explosion of grass) I've seen more snakes then I've ever seen in my entire life. Clearing an area means the local birds do all the work and get a feed in the process.

    • @livingbig
      @livingbig  4 года назад +1

      They sure do have an amazing outdoor living set-up! All the recent rain must be a huge relief. It was heart breaking driving through Australia and seeing so much of the aftermath of the fires. So glad to see all the green coming back now though. Good point about the snakes. We saw a few on our trip to Aus this time! Mostly around the Byron Bay area. As a kiwi, I always have to remind myself to be on my guard when I'm over there. Never have to worry about anything like that in New Zealand!
