This dude is a brilliant artist. No reason he shouldn’t end up a brilliant animator as well. Where OnePunch is concerned, he’ll certainly direct, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he was involved in drawing Key Frames as well. Looking forward to seeing his finished work. 👍

I could see Murata assembling an Avengers-level squad to come together, and create one punch man season 3. I don't think he would do the animating directly, but I could see him overseeing the production, which would give him the ability to still do the manga. Over time, I could see him stepping in more and more to bring his own animation style to opm, but I think he wants to get season 3 out there, make money off of it, grow and improve, and just become a powerhouse. I can imagine he's pretty fed up with studios screwing up animes.

I think he might do the important key frames, that are like in the manga as only he can replicate them, the movement and color grading parts of the animation he might leave it for the others to create

I really don’t why people were upset about opm season 2 animation. One of my favourite moments are from season 2 and the animators did pretty good job with saitama vs suiryu.
no because maybe the animation on itself was decent enough (???) for your average anime, but it is opm we're talking about. the season 1 animation was SO aesthetically pleasing, it physically hurt to watch the character of garou and genos in the earlier episodes. the fights werent fluid, the sound design was bad, season 2 was not a good experience. oh the animation of garou thrashing tank top master, garou destroying stinger and genos standing up, are exceptions i guess? when i myself watched season 2 when it aired for the first time in 2019, i thought its not that bad no? but then when i got into opm again, i realized how horrible season 2 was.
just compare season 2 One Punch Man to Dan Machi. same company who handled the project but with different quality. pretty much what happened is all the great talent was busy so they used trainees or 3rd party animators
Watch Murata reach out to the crazy good RUclips Fan animators and do the whole thing internationally over discord with google translate xD Fans with Talent are way more motivated than people just working for money, it'd be crazy epic.
Not how it works: the reason why fan animators seem better than studios is because they are their own boss. Japan has barbaric work schedules and the animators are constantly yelled at and have to work in horrible conditions every day. Anime takes hundreds of people over the course of months to produce. A few animators is not enough
Last I heard he was on site at Mappa helping with S3, When I heard Mob Animators had helped with JJK I instantly thought that it very well may be true Mappas got OPM S3 in works with help from Murata n others… And Imo Mappas still taking on OPM S3 but woth Murata having a hand in Animation Process I feel like its taking forever bc Muratas not accepting anything less than Peak, Man may be Storyboarding S3 himself even, That or very least I could see him having certain scenes to himself to produce, Honestly I feel like if we saw Murata put couple months into few minutes it very well could be Incredible! Animation rivaling Animation from Veteran Animators, He may have been newer to Animating but quality of his work carries very easily to Animation, Its more work course but with his talent Animation before long at all would be just as easy and spectacular as Muratas Manga Art is…

Fairly sure he animated a short of Saitama running to the supermarket that was pretty incredible. Maybe he can do the storyboards.
