going to the race it was beyond successful. the haters are in the vocal minority because everyone in chicago I have talked to wants to go to it next year. Phenomenal event everyone needs to see
As a Aussie who follows SVG, i thought it was a great race. Regardless. If you can see by some comments here, I think it was a success, considering as ianmmac was saying, alot of Australians and New Zealanders were tuning in. They would prob visit next time. It was a huge success if we are talking about the marketing side of things for Nascar in general and America/Chicago. Great race guys! I personally loved it.
It sure was a payoff, for network executives who got to sit in their hotels the entire weekend. Nascar sold $400 as if this race was as prestigious as daytona, while theres a perfectly good speedway in joliet. Atleast I didnt pay $400 to stand in the rain all day so execs can paint their nails in a hotel
if you don't want local money to leave the local economy, then stop allowing hotels to be owned by foreign entitles but you're not ready for that discussion
I didn't attend nascar race as I'm homeless in Chicago for 9 months now only 17 by the way. So I can't afford to pay for the way in or a hotel. And I have no clothes. Yes I'm a us citizen under the constitution of the united states'

Race was awesome
I drove from NH to see this race so getting people to come to Chicago was definitely a success for some.

Watch Mayor Johnson scuffles a good thing like this next year.

For a change no mass shooting during the race.
