    Omg. I LOVE you Doc Snipes. I am an absolute devotee of forest bathing. I cannot tell you the profound influence it has on me. The fragrances and sounds are an absolute “high” to me. I notice and see wildlife. I walk quietly and I feel as though I’m addicted now. Thank you very very much for including this profound form of well-being. You are wonderful.

    Thank you for this video. I had really bad depression (Major Depressive disorder then it turned into chronic Depression) that lasted a few years. What helped me in addition to therapy was music! Im a singer/songwriter. I started singing just 4 songs a day of my own music and it changed my life and mental state dramatically. Music really does heal. Also getting a kitten really helped! Once I got a kitten suicidal thoughts were out of the question because I love my kitten so much. I would also sit in nature a lot. Although I didnt know about color therapy I got some really beautiful color curtains and just looking at them daily makes me so happy. So much so that when I was asked to write things Im grateful for my curtains were included as the colors just make me feel peaceful. I am well now. I had to remove people from my life. I realized the cause for me was unexpressed grief of a loved one that had passed and once I felt my sadness depression lifted. So in my own experience feeling feelings, music, nature and kittens are all healing medicines as well as movement (dance, exercise, running ) and definitely therapy. Im ALOT better now as I feel joy and happiness again but in order to keep myself well I still make sure to sing daily 4 songs minimum, work out and enjoy colors and nature and continue therapy.

    I would recommend Qigong for a gentle excerise idea. You can just get up off your chair and start doing it in front of the tv or anywhere. It is none intense and gets your body moving.

      @@DocSnipes Yes, it can be my undergrads back was very dissimilar I have a B.S in Health Administration and an A.S in Health Administration from CTU. I've taken psych courses last year. I had been part of MS Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden. I transferred to Phoenix in Psychology MS online. Before I obtained the A.S, I had taken almost completed a degree in Psychology. I'm very happy to be a part of this channel its so very informative. I'm doing really well in Psychology in my third course. I find the information to be packed and overloaded we go swiftly every week into the next topic. this channel helps very much to review concepts and to have a live interaction.

    Of the 60% who aren’t helped by SSRI, what percent simply need a mood stabilizer for psychosis/bipolar/etc? Bipolar is treated as a curse by the medical community (docs loose license, if reported with this treatable condition). I am concerned about under-diagnosis. My partner had to have a breakdown to finally get Abilify which ended the fight-flight pain and suicidal ideation of the last 4O years. SSRIs were pointless…only now can he act on lessons learned in years of DBT and CBT.

    I suffer with depression, but my wife suffers from chronic insomnia and she is not depressed at all.

    • @DocSnipes
      @DocSnipes  4 месяца назад

      Thank you for sharing that. I am sorry you are struggling with depression and I am also sorry thar your wife is struggling with insomnia. It’s really thoughtful of you to be mindful of both your own and your wife’s challenges. Even though depression and insomnia often go hand in hand, they don’t always overlap, and it sounds like you’re both dealing with these difficulties in your own ways. It’s wonderful that you’re there for each other-having someone who understands and supports you is so important. I hope you both continue to find ways to manage and care for yourselves. Please take care of each other, and remember that small steps toward well-being matter.
