i been watching this channel for a few years now, and i like the way you do this show way more than Shannon. glad you are enjoying it. keep up the great work.
Congrats on the anniversary! 🍷 Thanks for the interesting stories and valuable news. As a former broadcaster, I’ve enjoyed watching you improve your skills in presentation and video production. Cheers! 🍷😎🏴☠️
I didn't realise it was just you and you're editor. Thankyou for all your hard work, it's one of the few channels I never fail to watch. Here is to another amazing year of ThreatWire!
Ideas for the show? I mean... I just like getting a summary of important security news, so... we're good? Well done, I agree that you have grown into the role.
Hey Ali great work on the show! Suggestions, maybe some interviews, reviews, demos. Your content been great and it’s helping hak5 move on. Keep up the great work
I see The owner of Threat wire as a symbol of a trusted advisor for threats and security. Why because she does a phenomenal job at what she does. She's very honest, and I respect that.
Feels like longer than a year, congrats! I can't help looking at the key around your neck and thinking, if I could figure out the size of the checked print on your shirt I should be able to 3D print a copy, lol, I wouldn't do that, I'm just being funny
Congrats on your first year, Ali. You're definitely getting a better understanding of the content you're covering here and no longer like George W Bush trying to use a teleprompter. Keep it up!
Happy 1 year! Have enjoyed every one of your Threat Wire episodes since the last host left. She was also very good too. But i super enjoyed all the episodes you have presented over the past year! AND... i was assuming you had help from other experts too to make your content but was shocked to find out this program now is ALL YOU! Kudos and major respect to the hard work and research and accuracy you have put into each video. Thanks for all the major dedication in hope to keep all our ignorant individuals that just want it to work.. aware, educated and safe from the things you find and report on! In regards to new ideas, and this is a little lengthy so apologies upfront! How about a video for consumer internet users Like myself that get their equipment from the ISP and tools to configure their lan via App. How Secure are the routers they give us to use? Are the Modems (which can be separate or a all in one type model flavor with router and modem in one box vs 2 separate devices) easily code injectable? What's the deal with the New wp3? Is it crackable like wpa 2? Is Kali Linux the choice of hackers to hack your home network? Esp Wireless Routers?? Also, regarding Android OS modeled smartphones and the remote exploits android phones face. But with Android phones, the hack that allows remote rooting when the bad actor has just the targets phone number? I personally saw it happen to a brand new HTC android and T mobile could NOT fix it. The owner of the phone had to purchase a new phone as the warranty did not cover the phone being bricked remotely for some odd reason. Probably because the makers of the phones know all too well about the exploits and it just equates into more money from sales because one of their phones got bricked, and the person was dumb enough to go buy another one. Few other questions regarding home networks: Is shutting off your dhcp server and static ip addressing and black listing all mac addys except the ones you have on your personal devices, still a viable method of tightening security? I even went as far as subnetting my subnet mask to match the exact number of class c devices i had on my local network to attempt to tighten my security. Despite all that, my main question would be, if hackers can still code inject modems as easily as they could before, can they not take advantage of the docsis controlled side network and manipulate the modem to factory reset so they gain access and can further hard code settings you cannot even see when looking at the config page? And is the router still code injected even if you hold the reset button for 30 seconds and clear everything out and set it back to factory settings... is the router still code injected? What really is the future of Residential home networks and isp security? Back in the early days of cable Modems, The ISP actually had 24-7/365 a team of REAL humans manning phone lines and helping anyone that knew anything about networking and troubleshoot problems, determine if someone was attempting to or already hacked you. They had some super educated individuals that could tell with a simple ip scan from the isp private docsis network side whether or not your modem was hacked or if your router had been infiltrated and was advertising a port or ports that were suspicious in nature. Now adays your lucky if the ISP person you get even knows what a DHCP server is let alone be able to diagnose if someone was hacking your or hacked you. I think you get the idea. So ofc it brings up the question now that they do not have active security teams that the customer can contact at any given time of day or date, how secure is their network, and how secure is your equipment? When I had WOW internet, they had ZERO security team, they also had NO points of presence in my state yet they were here. How you might ask? They RENTED businesses' servers to run their dns, dhcp and gateway servers. My particular one was ran by some methodist Church in a town 40 miles north of me! Imagine that! So at this point NO ISP i know of in my area has that anymore so like to see a video about the residential side of ISPs, Their equipment, Practices of security and implementation if they have any, ect. Like to also see about the Android phone exploits that plague android and have for decades and why the fcc even allows that os to be sold, like windows! And if they do why pray tell they have not dropped the hammer on them securing down ppls smart devices which in many cases has that persons entire life information on it! Sad but true! (metallica said it best lol)
TOR is not secure anymore since every three letter agency either runs the exit nodes or is watching them and using algorithms to identify your activity.
You seem so much more comfortable being a presenter. Thanks for keeping the show alive. And if you want to try something new or silly, go for it I still remember the evil server. 😂 I wonder what is your favorite memory of past shenanigans?
I would like to see a few collaborations with other podcast hosts. Possibly some how to or some actual lab work. I imagine most of your audience are people like myself who are learning along with you so it really wouldn't even have to be anything complicated just fundamentals.
Congrats on the one year, and thanks for all your hard work! 🎉
thank you!!
At 2:32 "Remember that the real threat is not the police..." Uhh-huuu riiiiight. lol
I love the fact you did the outro explaining a bit about yourself. You’ve got my vote

That would be our own Government.
I have bipolar 1 because of issues in the past. It sucks.
