    It’s a lot more then substrate isopods and springtails drainage with drainage lever some need Misting u still have to clean still a lot husbandry to think about depending on ur reptile 🐍 x

      @@amandaroberts2660 I agree but overall maintaining bioactive has been much easier than my non bioactive setups

    In my case, it would be "Why NOT to go bioactive."
    All it takes is one parasite outbreak and then you're out thousands of dollars, hours upon hours of work and months of waiting for stuff to grow in. When it happened to me, I had to throw out $10,000+ in bioactive enclosures to save my animals. I don't think I'll ever do it again, even though I loved seeing them inside the greenery.
    Another negative was when I discovered ticks inside the substrate, but bioactive advocates highly disparage sifting, sterilizing the soil, or sterilizing the decorations. I would 100% disregard most of their advice if I were ever to do it over again. If you join the Facebook groups and tell them your plan to sterilize, it can result in an automatic ban.
