- After years of trying, we finally pushed further than anybody has ever been in pettyJohns cave out at tobacco road! We have to come back to see where all these new passages go.

Hey! Thats me at 8:30ish!!! This was a fun day minus destroying my knee.
We felt so horrible about that! You were literally 100 feet from the end of the map, we all got to go again sometime soon and push even further next time!!

You guys must have big respect for cavers from the 1800s whos names you sometimes see written in carbide.
Going through those places with a flickering lamp and basic kit, though they were likely doing it looking for gold deposits and other high value ores and gems.

This is so fascinating to watch. I pulled up a map of the place, the cave just goes on for miles, and yet they find somewhere to squeeze into virgin passage! Makes you wonder how much more of this cave can still be pushed by those brave enough to go into the deep end.

Dang you guys should come back an do a 24 hour exploration of that new passage, many other places you can go, bring rope to explore that lower level.
Or bring a battery powered hammer drill, rock drill bits, some .380 blanks, a steel rod and a thick rubber mat. They're used for desobstruction; when caves have a blockage preventing further exploration which can't be passed any other way, a hole is drilled strategically, a blank is pushed in primer side up, then it's covered with the rubber mat and a the steel rod is pushed through the designated opening in the mat. Give the rod a good swing with the hammer to set off the blank, and BANG, it will explode and crack the rock. All you then need to do is remove the bits of rock that were in the way and sometimes extend any fractures the explosion caused to widen the blockage and even more, and on your way you go, deeper into the cave.

One of the hardest caves I've watched yall explore so far. The icing on the cake is all that goopy slippery mud everywhere too while climbing next to steep drops. Crazy

I have explored Petty Johns Cave in my younger years. And I think that is a cave system that would requires a camp setup in the cave to get to the end. ..if possible. And since there are so many branch offs going everywhere, who knows what awaits. Thanks for the video and please don't over push your efforts to get to the ends in one trip... That is when problems happen!

Definitely might connect to north bend but that junk looks like it wants to collapse on us if we even try and explore the whole thing

That was definitely the sketchiest part. Nobody knows what is down there but a rock drop says it is around 40 feet deep

This cave is great. I've been in it a couple of times. Stephens Gap and the Sauta Cave near there; they're great, too.

I have been in petty johns for 8 hours. You saw virgin cave, nice. I noticed the water in the creeks were very low. I have never seen the water that low before.

I personally love to go exploring caves but ever since the nutty putty story I heard petty Johns for some reason keeps sticking in my head as being dangerous even though I have no idea what it's really like but it just sends a chill down my spine, maybe I'm just spoiled being is the caves I get to explore are the love of beds National Monument in Northern California don't get me wrong there are some pretty tight squeezes in there and I've been stuck at a time or two which scared the hell out of me but they're nothing like what you guys get to explore that's why I love seeing where you go

This is not too far from me! I know that I have explored a few caves in missouri that are not on maps and have never been officially mapped out but nothing as big or as wild as this cave! Im smelling a trip to pettyjohns in the future!

Hi action adventure twins! I like your videos , but sometimes it makes me a bit dizzy because of the way the camera moves and also i find it difficult to evaluate distances because sometimes a hole looks really small it looks like its like 10 cm but then its actually big enough for you to fit easily so yeah a lot of the time its difficult to know the scale of the caves unless obe of your are in the frame idk . It's so cool when you find new passages i like watching caving videos because I had a book about geology but my mom gave it to my cousin i think and also i visited a cave one day but it was a tour but it was still a bit scary because the water falls made so much noise like a roaring monster so yeah you guys are so cool i told my uncle about your channel. Maybe your washing machine will make concrete because you come back out so muddy ok bye 👋🏞️🧗😾🇺🇸🇺🇲🗽💵💲🚦
