As far as I know you are the only person doing these kinds of tests with the #Savisaber and I’m so happy and thankful to you for it. I would like to see someone make a blade plug for these.
I am willing to bet that a third party blade plug for the Disney Parks sabers will be an impossibility honestly. The blades are unique in that they have lights integrated with the blade and are swappable but still show the light corresponding to the hilt/kyber crystal. This means there is likely more then just the lights in there, there is also electronics that determine what light to use. So these things will be expensive to make as blade plugs and far more work then most third parties will be willing to do. A third party blade plug could even easily be more pricey then the actual blades from the shop, since the third parties won't have access to the mass manufacturing Disney does. And here is a big reason against seeing blade plugs that also affects the likely hood of Disney themselves making one. How do you get it out, or even install in the first place? They twist and lock into place and without a blade to grip you couldn't easily get it back out or even lock it into place to activate anyway.
I’ve definitely noticed a decline in quality on saberforge lightsabers lately, i got mine like 4 or 5 years ago and it still works fine to date, however, I got one for my dad recently as a Christmas gift and the thing stopped working 3 days after the unboxing even after taking good care of it, I’m really impressed with Savi’s lightsabers, they’re good quality and the whole sound and color change being determined by the Crystal itself really make Savi’s version super cool, thanks for making a sacrifice no one was willing to make.
As someone who just had the opportunity to build a lightsaber at Savi’s, I’m actually very happy with not only the quality, but the saber itself. After playing with it and sparring against my cousin with it I definitely feel like lot of the bad reviews are either outright false or just from people who don’t have one. I’d certainly build another one next time I make it out to the park.
Because the Saberforge blade was out of battery 🔋 at the time. The Disney blade makes sound when it’s turned on so that would’ve taken away from the dialogue. I'm actually kind of impressed, for lights, sounds, an interchangeable parts system and a multi-colored led blade $200 isn't as steep of a price as people think. The blade holding up that well makes me actually want to buy one of these over a saberforge or ultrasaber that'll cost twice as much for the same features. the one working saber went in working 100% and came out working 100% I think that speaks volumes for the test And that is pretty epic on Disney's part for the craftsmanship Despite the non-op saber going into the test with no power.
Part of the nice thing about the blades is if you break it you can Easily get a replacement. Older ones youd either have to find a whole new lightsaber or find a way to repair it yourself. (For non saberforge talking the older official ones) This one you can easily get new blades.
Not sure if you've attempted yet, but Saberforge sabers do typically come with a 1 year warranty. Unsure if you purchasing through etsy affects that, but I'd recommend reaching out to see if they'll fix it up for you. Otherwise, if they don't honor the warranty, and you know how to solder, can always experiment with DIYing it since I'm willing to bet a wire just came loose.
Ok so no joke. I have 5 ultrasabers and my gf has 2 Vaders Vaults and an electrum saber and this seems to out perform them all particularly with the pixel LEDs I am amazed!
A decent review of the Saber especially as there are a bunch of people out there bashing SW out there especially Disney's Galaxy edge products. A shame that well your's is a fair and decent review of a product that many will likely never go through such harsh testing or punishment. That louder more spiteful or just Anti-SW Anti Disney people will likely ignore or just say crap. I on the other hand will try to buy one when I'm ready and have it next to my original Anakin Force FX one.
This is why I will always buy saberforge, had one for 5 years, was able to full swing bash the blade into a tree trunk with practically 0 damage to the blade, no denting or bending, just some scuff marks, the day it finally broke was because i tested it against real swords which only nicked it, and I decided to slam it on the ground causing the blade to break in half but the hilt has never broken, electronics are still good, and overall a good $150 spent. I highly recommend saberforge.
NightcoreBeastMixes I didn’t have nearly as much luck with my Saberforge blade 😔 Smacked a tree a couple of times and it shattered. I did a newer video showing that!
I’ve literally not even let it hit anything with mine so far and I was super nervous that it would break on the plane ride home. Obviously it didn’t! Thanks for the realization test👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for making this video! I was really wondering about the Savi's blade quality, and this pretty much confirmed my guess. It's also really interesting to see people's definitions of "broken". Like, yeah, the Galaxy's Edge one still turns on, but I never expected the hilt to implode from smacking another saber; it's the blade that matters here, and *that* blade is all kinds of screwed after a few minutes of real swinging.
This was so helpful! The night after I bought one for my son, I found myself whirling it around in my hotel room and hit the ceiling. Probably medium intensity. No marks, but I barely slept thinking I might have caused long term damage. NOPE! I'll sleep well after this video! Thanks!
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERYONE! :) You're probably all watching the fireworks right now, but I just couldn't wait to put this out. I CAN'T WAIT to hear everybody's thoughts about this, so let the comment wars begin! Ha! Just kidding kbye ;)
Idk if my Disney saber is just a little wonky but the light flickers when i swing it around. Sounds still perfect and so is the blade just the lights mess up when i move it around. What could be causing this or what couldve caused this?
Mitchell Griffee mine did this too! Change your batteries. The light doesn’t dim so much as it just flickers and eventually won’t turn on. Or get rechargeable AAA’s, that’s what I did.
Ok ... I must said I'm impressed. Savi's lightsaber survived ! The blade tip didnt but this is sometimes happening on heavy grade blade too. About electronics inside your saberforge this is frequent, like I said to you when you received it : hilts are fine but electronics are crap. You might only need to solder the led or the switch a little bit. Their soldering points are often done quickly and poorly. Thx for the test. You need to go back to Galaxy's Edge and buy a new blade now :). Oh, and this trampoline jump was awesome.
This was the video that confirmed that the blades were durable enough for dueling, leading me to buy my first saber a few years ago. I've since bought a second one (Anakin's legacy) and plan on buying a third when I am able.
I won't be hardcore dueling with my friends using the Disney saber. I'll stick to my Kyberlight for that. But now I know I can let kids play with the Disney laser swords. Maybe get one blade for dueling and another for showcase.
I was at Disneyland last week and went to Savi's workshop and custom built my own lightsaber. Great experience well worth the $$$. Would do it again. My blade color is green. I was wondering how put together our sabers are. Great demo.
I'm super late finding this, but I also never went to Galaxy's Edge before (haven't been to Disney since 2015). I am going to visit Batuu for the first time next week with my family, so I'm glad to see the saber can still turn on and deal with pretty hard swings within reasonable limits. I never planned to use mine for hard clashes, but now I see I won't need to worry about damaging the hilt or electronics if I play with it normally or without clashing. The fact the blade survived pretty well surprised me too. Thanks for the demonstration!
Coulda told you your saberforge was gonna come apart! That design was meant for heavy dueling just light show work. As for the galaxy edge that I was a little surprise at, Well the blade at least not just folding in half! lol
Instead of swinging the lightsaber light a bat, spread your hands on the hilt and use your non-dominant hand on the pommel to move the entire weapon (with the dominant hand as the pivot point). This is how real fighting is done. It will test the loose saber/hilt connector by rocking the blade back and forth in short and long edge strikes.
@@V2ULTRAKill Yes and no. The weapon you are descriping is called the Foil, part of sport fencing. It's a very light blade but also short. It was a training tool for the small sword. But epees also have a guard covering the hand so that protection is not there for thrusting only. With Kylo Ren's saber, now you are getting into German Longsword. That's the fighting style I described.
@@TheWabbitSeason i was more talking combat fencing or dueling, a lightsaber behaves like an estoc, theres no weight to the blade meaning the motions you use with a rapier or estoc would be more efficient, youd have more control over the blade and would be protecting yourself better, but its not as flashy
Merciless Mode actually lightsabers we’re originally based off of katanas or so I’ve heard. Laser katanas. 11/10. Also Darth Vader’s armor is based off of samurai armor

Nimoot Haha, that’s neat! That sounds like it’s fun, surprisingly useful, and really damn consistent.
Right on the company for giving great customer service too along with an apparently solid base service.
Him: hey step dad, can you help me film a video for my star wars youtube channel? I want to how a toy lightsaber fight
Step-dad: Im going out for cigarettes...
The outro was amazing with the "You will subscribe" That's super clever!! Thanks for testing this out!
FINALLY. Been waiting for someone to make a video like this. THank you for your sacrifice XD
the one working saber went in working 100% and came out working 100% I think that speaks volumes for the test And that is pretty epic on Disney's part for the craftsmanship Despite the non-op saber going into the test with no power.

As a person who doesn’t own one of these lightsabers.....it hurts💀
Why do people hit the swords the point is to go for the person and it is then blocked not purposely just hit swords together
Because testing durability on people really hurts lol
@@StarWarsIRL **some dude breaks my back with a lightsaber**
OWWWW!
testing durability on swords is slightly better than testing it on people
for one, the sword is harder than a person
Man, the look on your dads face when he was watching you jump off the trampoline. What a great bonding moment, he really seemed to have a good time
Part of the nice thing about the blades is if you break it you can Easily get a replacement. Older ones youd either have to find a whole new lightsaber or find a way to repair it yourself. (For non saberforge talking the older official ones)
This one you can easily get new blades.
Can you just buy the blade
@@TheFrostFilesPodcast think so for like $20+
Awesome video and I subscribed glad u covered this very good info
Not sure if you've attempted yet, but Saberforge sabers do typically come with a 1 year warranty. Unsure if you purchasing through etsy affects that, but I'd recommend reaching out to see if they'll fix it up for you. Otherwise, if they don't honor the warranty, and you know how to solder, can always experiment with DIYing it since I'm willing to bet a wire just came loose.
Awesome video, I wish my dad (or step-dad) cared about me enough to do stuff like this with me.
Jumping from the trampoline is like an actual jedi jump
Ok so no joke.
I have 5 ultrasabers and my gf has 2 Vaders Vaults and an electrum saber and this seems to out perform them all particularly with the pixel LEDs
I am amazed!
The Heavy Grade ultraedge option seems to have really great durability, but that's pretty much all I care about cos I duel w friends a lot
3:33 It’s over Dad, I have the high ground!
A great informative video that was enjoyable! Also, 10/10 for the awesome Dad who helped
Ouch ,every hit really was painful to watch. Overall great video man.
The dog in the back like: “what the hell”
Something must have changed in the blades, because I disconnected my blade once and it didn’t work when I put it back in. Thanks a ton, Disney.
You know, as a professional swordsman myself, that head block you demonstrate at the start is for the most part on point👌
Thank you for doing this test. I think we are all surprised it's not completely destroyed 😁
I’ve literally not even let it hit anything with mine so far and I was super nervous that it would break on the plane ride home. Obviously it didn’t! Thanks for the realization test👍🏻👍🏻
I can’t wait to build a lightsaber at Savi’s
King Beam100 That’s the best part about the Savi saber. I wish I could go to galaxy’s edge but Disney is expensive
Anytime! Thank you so much for your support!!!!
😲
StarWars IRL that was Awesome!
Yeti Nate thanks!
Begun the comment wars have
Idk if my Disney saber is just a little wonky but the light flickers when i swing it around.
Low key feeling this is the most they do together and it took him a lot of convincing to do the video with the kid
Mike Nah I think the step dad also likes star wars and was willing to have fun with his step son
Thank you for answering all the questions we were asking
Ngl you looked like a real Jedi when you jumped off that trampoline
That's what I was thinking as well. Since the button was already sticking out it is most likely just a wire that got knocked loose.
Makes me want to watch Full Force: the documentary
Thanks for this video! I've been looking for a test to see how "duel worthy" savi's workshop lightsabers are
Thanks for making this video and sacrifice! I was on the fence but after watching this I made my reservation at Savi’s 🙌🏻
I have one of those kybers 11 color sabers.
Why not spend $30 for the kids and let them play with the Hasbro telescoping ones to save $170 each? Your money!

Obi Wan Kenobi- "He took the high ground,... Now where have I seen this before?....."
I mean, who wants to ruin a 130-200 dollar lightsaber prop/toy?
Exactly. Nobody.
Didn’t know it was possible to over-edit until I saw that jump shot
At least you can get new blades for your hilt. Kinda like replaceable headphone cables, if the cable breaks at least the headphones aren’t worthless
My step dad only wants me to get him beer and cigarettes
I was at Disneyland last week and went to Savi's workshop and custom built my own lightsaber. Great experience well worth the $$$. Would do it again. My blade color is green. I was wondering how put together our sabers are. Great demo.
I love how you are willing to throw away $400
I'm super late finding this, but I also never went to Galaxy's Edge before (haven't been to Disney since 2015). I am going to visit Batuu for the first time next week with my family, so I'm glad to see the saber can still turn on and deal with pretty hard swings within reasonable limits. I never planned to use mine for hard clashes, but now I see I won't need to worry about damaging the hilt or electronics if I play with it normally or without clashing. The fact the blade survived pretty well surprised me too. Thanks for the demonstration!
Its so cute that your dad is still so down to play with you like this lmao/ that trampoline shot
Coulda told you your saberforge was gonna come apart! That design was meant for heavy dueling just light show work. As for the galaxy edge that I was a little surprise at, Well the blade at least not just folding in half! lol
That other guy built the same light sabre as me
I definitely would not have done what you guys have done but now I at least know these things are durable enough for me to spend 200$ on it
great video, also very well edited
Props to your stepdad for helping test!
"lets get to the bottom of this"
was that a pun? cause, you know, palpatines deatg
I mean lightsaber fighting *SHOULD* be more like fencing because the blade has no weight
@@mjstege6881 umm no, darth vaders armor was derivative of ww2 just like everything else in the OT
Lucas was a ww2 fanatic
If you notice it seems the LEDs are fine as well.
Great review! I just picked up 3 of them at Galaxy’s Edge. They are mostly for display but if my teens and I feel the need…
4:21. The lightsaber on the right... where can I get that? I can’t find it anywhere Ik obi wan used it in the clone wars tho but I can’t find it
That’s called the “Adept” and is made by Saberforge.
