- In this tutorial I'll be demonstrating how to add a white outline around an object using Procreate. For this demonstration the object will be a PNG image, but this method also works with text, logos, and anything else that has alpha transparency.
Makes you wonder why they didn’t just add a stroke function……
How do you do that tho?
@@urlocalcartoonn i dont. I use other software to achieve
@@SmokinKlocks ok…but it’s on procreate?
100%
The basic functions keep it cheap
As a vector illustrator this is exactly what I was looking for! I wanted something precise, rather than drawing a white outline around the layer by hand. Thanks!
Super easy, thanks for getting right to the point and not filling the time with unnecessary info! Works great and takes seconds to do, thank you!!
How does procreate not have this feature yet! Anyways I commend you best tutorial youtube thus far, straight to the point and clearly explained.MVP👑
It’s not working for me. When I select automatic press and slide it just makes the whole screen blue and around the word black and the rest doesn’t work like you say. What am I doing wrong
Did you have the correct layer selected? What about the Alpha lock?
Good thing that you still upload
Your tutorials really help
Simple, to the point and easy to follow, thank you!
Thank you so much, no other tutorials worked.
Very good tip/advice. Thank you very much Nick.
Super easy. I tried doing this from another video first and they made it soooo complicated. Thank you.
Excellent tutorial! Easy and it works!
Thank you! So much better than the super long videos from others. 🙂
Thank you. The tutorial was short, to the point with clear and concise instructions.
Great video. Very easy to follow along
This is a great video thanks for the info!
the only tutorial ive found without a blurry background i want to hug you
wow , that was clean Im
not even gonna lie, thank you so much
This was a phenomenal tip
Thank you for this!
Amazing! Thank you!
It looks good but isn't great for printing. If you zoom in, the lines around the edges aren't smooth
Thank you this is so helpful 🤙🏼
Dude this is genius thank you so much never thought of this trick before
Exactly what I wanted thank you
Thank you so so much this is the only tutorial that worked for me ToT lifesaver
Other videos were harder to follow along. Thanks for this one!
Really usefull thanks
but always has no fine lines.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
thank you so so much!!!
Love this channel
Worked tysm
I Know this is an older vid but it's great and to the point! Is there a way to make the edges less jagged? Besides using a good eraser brush? Thanks!
THANK YOU SO MUCH SIR
Oh my god you’re a life saver!❤
THANK YOU!
Good video thanks!
This video was everything - so helpful GREAT QUICK VIDEO AND STRAIGHT TO THE POiNT - - what’s the purpose of the blurring part ? I actually delete it after
Hi there, I had an image with Arabic text and followed all the steps; all I get is a white background. I don't see the fill layer at all. Can we not make an outline with pre-existing text that is kind of an Image? Thank you
This used to work perfectly for me, I got smooth outlines and it looked great. However after the newest update, the outline is super jagged and ugly. I thought it might be my specific iPad, so I reinstalled procreate.. nope, same issue. They really need to fix this
Ugh, I thought it was just me! They definitely need to fix it.
@@chelseabradshaw3145 it's so weird because one day it was working perfectly, and the next it was completely trashed. I have no idea what happened.
@@JessiTheBestiGaming a year later and it’s still the same. Jagged lines and I can’t find a solution
And how do you do it on a 500x500 Pixels Canvas. This outline is pixelated.
Super helpful! How would I remove a background from an image before adding this outline ?
sorry i replied late, but if you still havent figured it out, go on layers and there will be a background layer! you are able to change the color of this layer and hide this layer. just press the checkmark to hide it and boom! the layer is hidden!
don't know why is not working for me!
Is anyone else's procreate missing the "fill layer" option in the dropdown?
Can we use this to make stickers ?
Yes, same concept.
yes
I've watched so many videos about this and still cannot get it to work.... what da heckin heck
I..... cant figure it out. I have some text for a sticker design for redbubble. I want to upload the sticker where it cuts around the text and I downloaded the transparent PNG file from Canva and put it in Procreate and did all the steps and no bueno. I can't figure it out and I'm getting very frustrated :/
not a very good way. it often leaves an incredibly rough and pixelated edge. there is a melted down look to the corners and intricacies and it's just not good.
Videos wrong anyway, doesn’t deliver the line
Very easy and too complicated.
