Maybe it is because it lets the meme last. Though, they should make sure new Simmers are aware that they can change these old mistakes on their own. When I played the Sims the first time, I had no idea how to work build mode, or that it even existed!

I'm a little bit upset at EA for not getting japanese simmers to build the Mount Komorebi lots (and South East asian simmers for Tomarang), it felt like a missed opportunity, but I'm really happy they brought in simmers. You all did great jobs and clearly did your research! Love from Japan 😘
I understand like the your idea but… just because they aren’t they race does not mean they can’t change styles. It’s not like she made a blue suburban. It’s still a Japanese style
@@williamcarlton4154 yeah, but if you’re going to sell a pack about a culture, it‘d make sense to include the simmers from that culture to create the builds (if they have simmers make the builds) because they‘d be more familiar and knowledgeable about it. still, simsie and other simmers did a wonderful job on their builds.
@@williamcarlton4154 of course, it's just that it would have been cool to get japanese people to showcase Japanese culture, it's not about race it's about representation and it's about the fact that the Snowy Escape world is explicitly based on Japan. In the future, if they do a Turkey inspired world for exemple I'd like to see Turkish creators, Indian creators for India or Brazilian creators for Brazil, I think it's interesting and the sims is a popular game worldwide. They have made efforts in representation across the board (gender, vitiligo, hearing aids and showcasing black content creators), so I have high hopes they might make that effort for future packs. I hope that made sense! :)

Tatami is an example, as a Japanese person would understand the standard sizes of tatami and how rooms are sized around them better. They’d probably prioritize sizing the room based on the tatami for realism, instead of doing tatami to fit a room. A Japanese Simmer also might have pushed to have a stovetop as most Japanese living spaces don’t have ovens at all. Additionally, there are certain layouts that Americans might not notice the handy convenience of because we have different hygiene or food or trash habits. Clearly, research was done on layout and architecture, but I think a Japanese builder would have added a lot to the experience.
I remodeled the Ito residential lot (the 50x50 one), and it took me about a week to reach something that was to my liking, fitting the Mt Komorebi general vibe and playable, even though I thought the lots in Snowy Escape were a HUGE improvemnt over the classic EA builds. Working on such a large lot is really a pain, and I can't even begin to fathom the humongous list of restrictions EA put on you to have a build that can be included in the pack. Your work was great, and the starter home is to this day still one of my favourite in the whole game.

This starter house is the one that my longterm legacy started in! I’ve been playing the save file for over two years, and chose this house for my founder because I’m a snowboarder in real life so my legacy founder had to be one too lol! It was before I ever watched this channel and I had no idea it was a Lilsimsie build, but it makes sense now why I thought it was such a beautiful house ❤ brings back such good memories, thanks for all your inspiration, Kayla ❤

nope! I feel rly subconscious too- but it does help when I rmbr that, like Kayla said, a lot of them would absolutely do a do-over w/o the restrictions and I feel better for renovating them

So I physically didn't know you worked on that house at first and I went to live with the family and I literally said wow this is amazing this looks like a simsie build and then like a week later I found out you built it 😂😂😂
A tatami mat would only take up two tiles, not three. Three looks weirdly long xD A "standard" tatami room would have six tatami mats. A small room might have 4.5 (four alone would be unlucky because the word "four" is synonymous with the word "die/death" in Japanese) while larger rooms would have 8 or 10.
i think i read on the sims community post here on YT that they made a team exclusively for fixing all the bugs and problems on the game. I dontbplay ts4 but i think thats a good news 😊
You should definitely do a video going through the base game world community lots, specifically the oasis springs gym lot cuz idk if this is an issue with just my game or everyones but there are FULL WALLS missing in the gym's bathrooms/showers
i had totally forgotten you built the ito family mansion. makes a lot of sense though; first time my sim came over to their house, two separate items caught on fire within minutes of loading the lot. at least it wasn't the toilet though. ;)
Pretty build with a very non-traditionally Japanese vibe... the seperate toilet is a nice cultural touch and while the genkan looks different than it would in real life it at least exists. Yet the room layout, the arrangement of the tatami... sadly not it.
Why wouldnt ea just finish the pack’s items and pricing before releasing it for you an dother artists to use and make these lots so you dont have to go back and forth so many times

I think you should try and collaborate with dearmodern (the feng shui guy who redesigns rooms). I saw your bed and door placement in one of the rooms and just thought of him the whole time 8D
I plopped down a couple of the wedding venues that came with the pack and both times I got a warning that they had used the move-objects cheat, so I guess EA is lessening their rules.
Slotting books on a desk next to a computer makes the desk unusable because of a bug that makes your sim interact with the books every time you do anything with the computer. Tell your sim to program or write a book, and they will sit to do it, then stand up and take a book to read. Tell them to put the book away, and do the programming so they can get their promotion at work, and they do so, but interrupt the given useful prompts, and cancel them to interact with the books instead, and then complain that they don't feel like reading. It is one of the most frustrating bugs to deal with in tiny builds, and makes computers completely unusable until you move the books.
