Accordingly, we will have to prepare "A short introduction of yourself and the chosen topic must not take more than 2 minutes, while the actual teaching demonstration must not take more than 8 minutes. In total, the video should be at most ten (10) minutes long" Does it mean that the video is separated into two parts and should start with a 2-minute self-intro (as in NOT a hypothetical self-intro in front of the class but rather a self-intro addressed to the "panel)? I just went back over the email I received, and it does not mention requiring me to send a sample lesson. It is not mentioned under "Documents to Prepare" or "Accessing Your Interview". Does this mean that a sample plan is not required? I am an American ALT applicant. Perhaps American JET interviews are different.
First of all congratulations. The way it was done in the Philippines was different because of the pandemic in 2021. The embassy/consulate in our countrh resorted to virtual interview and recorded teaching demo but now back to the normal process. ALL THE BEST! 🙏😊✈️🇯🇵

When I did mine, I did not do it with pretend students. Yung 10 minutes na time limit kasi napakacrucial ng bawat segundo. I did not want my students' responses to impede the flow of my lesson.

Choose a topic din that brings out your creativity. Make sure that what you wrote in your LP is what they will see in your teaching demo video.

Hi there! There is no misinformation here. All the things I have shared in this vlog is completely based on my PERSONAL experience in 2021. I assume that you didn't know that I am a JET Programme ALT from the Philippines. Certainly, you cannot attest to what I mentioned in this video if you are from another country as your process could be different from ours. Yes, nobody knows what questions the panel will ask the applicants, so what I shared are only possible questions that they can prepare to answer before the big day. I think there is nothing wrong with that.
THERE IS a self introduction video embedded in the demo lesson video for our country, THE PHILIPPINES. And interviews are conducted via Microsoft Teams. He is trying to help us, his fellow aspiring Filipinos ALT. If the process is different from your country, then don't comment like that.
