Congratulations! I’m one of your new viewers and subscribers 🎉 I enjoy your channel and your direct approach to things, thrilled for you! I’ve been monetized (different channel) since December of ‘22, had my 3rd ever video go viral - a video about making German glitter glass pinecones of all things lol - and that launched me well over the monetization line while still making me money today! This time last year I was barely on the scoreboard, and now I finally feel like I’m gaining some traction even though my channel is more of a hobby channel/creative venture. I’ve learned a ton over there and on the accompanying blog that’s just basically been a playground, but I’m actually starting a second channel and blog and that’s how I found you - your blogging content- as I’m starting a new business centered on recovering from perfectionism and want to launch the new Channel and website “properly”. I figure the more I learn, the more I can apply to both audiences ❤ Keep up the hard work!

Nice to see you sharing the views that match with the revenue earned. Usually I find most RUclipsrs will often hide the number views that equate to the revenue earned which doesn’t show the audience complete transparency. As 7k views in one niche may not pay same as 7k views in an entirely different niche
I will always be completely transparent in my videos! I don't see any reason not to be. Allowing people to see the full picture is very important to me!

I am not sure if the increasing revenue could also be partially attributed to RUclips's new guidelines of not allowing viewers to use ad blockers anymore as it really shortchanged a lot of creators. Hopefully you will comtinue to see an upward trend in your revenue 😊
That could be! I didn't think about that. They made quite a few changes to ads, so that could also be part of it! I do know that I'm in a high RPM niche though too so it's likely a few different factors!

It's really a shock how quickly I hit the goal! I've definitely mentioned it a few times because consistent passive income is my overall business goal, and this is one way to it!

Hey Sarah, I just wanted to reach back out to you to let you know that my latest video released 3 days ago has almost 1300 views and I picked up 10 new subs in the last 24 hours from it. I'm really excited about it and I followed your advice about not trying to get any charity subs. Thanks again for all of your advice you offer to us newbies:)

@@SarahMarieBlog The YT God's are smiling on me. It's over 5K views and I've gone from 22 subs when I uploaded to 114 subs now. I honestly can't believe it.
@Gen-X-Memories Make sure to capitalize on it!! Whatever you did- do it again. RUclips well likely recommend your next upload to thoes new people so maybe make the next video on the same or a similar topic you think they'd like. If you're new subs click on it and keep watching, that will prolong your growthspurt!

Congrats! I'm trying to monetize my channel so thanks for giving us a close look! Question: how many ads to add to your video or do you just leave it to default? I've heard some people add lots of ads and others don't and not sure if that affects the income as RUclips doesn't give a viewer all those ads all the time...they pick and choose what to show so it seems like there's no point to adding more ads? Maybe I'm over thinking it???
I try to keep my ads a few minutes apart. It really depends on the length of the video. Usually 3-4 minutes apart? Sometimes more? I put 4 ad slots for this 10-minute video. Default placement is pretty garbage, so I always change it and look for a natural break in my videos to place them.
My biggest concern is viewer satisfaction over making money, so I always space them apart instead of bugging the viewer with tons of ads. It may make them leave as well, so I worry about that too! I'll have to create a video explaining this way more because those are good questions!

Oh great! Love that you will make a video about that because I started adding more add placement for my other channel but I'm not making more money because of that, so not sure if I'm doing it wrong.

Very interesting. I want to try to sell some merch when I get my channel monetized.
I think in the future I'd like to as well, although it really doesn't fit with my audience so I doubt it'd do well!
Your video's are about website so definitely your RPM will always be around 17 to 31 dollars
Last year, my revenue was nowhere near this high, so I'm surprised to see it! Glad to know I picked a good niche in terms of RPM though.
Hey Sarah, what would you say is a good view versus sub ratio? Do you track this by chance? I wasn't going to ask for my friends for charity subs because I wanted to build my channel organically but I may end up asking if the viewing hours continue to grow but I don't get many new subs to the channel.
I wouldn't ask people for charity subs. If they aren't interested in your content, the sub will hurt more than help. RUclips doesn't care how many subs you have, they care about the quality of the content you create and how well it holds your viewers attention (so they can make more money)
If you have a bunch of charity subs but none of them click on your content, it will kill the video quicker because YT thinks no one wants to watch. Just keep grinding and building an audience of people who WANT to sub for your content. You'll get there!!
As for view to sub ratio, I've got no clue honestly. I pay more attention to individual video stats than subs. I notice when I hit a sub milestone and forget about it til the next one!
