I was privileged to have a look inside Abbey Road last year. Has an aura about it, a Cathedral of music.
People are missing the point when they say 'go get a real kit'. Sometimes you can't! I sure as hell can't afford a real Ludwig and I don't have anywhere to put it.
"One day, one day" I tell myself - but in the meantime, I have to stick with libraries. It's the songs that count, anyway ... not the way you make them.
I love the sound of these drums, they don't sound fake at all to me!
it is a sound pack you can buy for Kontakt, which is in both free and paid versions.
THIS program is so sick. Nothing compares to the studio recording on Analog adat Tapes. THe mixing board and patch bay is like home
I'm pretty sure ADAT was digital tape
I think you can now get the entire Abbey Road Drums libraries in one package at a very reasonable price.
Led Zeppelin - Fool In The Rain :)
Only the real ones know
Estais muy bien preparados!!!
@TYSONWILLIAMMUSIC
No, it's a Library for Kontakt (program) you can buy :)
how do i write with this? how do i sequence these sounds into a drum beat?
@dapik5
i'm actually planning to use this with drum triggers to save money on recording. i'm really a guitarist and i just dabble in drums, but in some places it's really hard to find drummers. when i was in high school, there were two kids that could play drums and about 50 kids that "played" guitar and wanted a band. one of the drummers didn't want a band and the other one drummed for me. i can understand why people make software like this.
thank you
Will someone please tell me what I need to buy? Because, I want to use Abbey Road Drum sounds in my recordings, and I have a Roland SPD-20, and ProTools LE 5.2.1 on Mac OS 9! Is Abbey Road compatible with my Mac OS and that old version of ProTools LE? Please let me know in clear, specific terminology, what I need to buy, and how to route the signal! As I am still a bit of a newbie. Thanks!
@ollecarlsson thanks for being a kook...Anyway.
When selecting midi-usb input in the VST do i have to run it thru Microsoft midi mapper?
Hello,i want to buy Abbey road Colection drummer i want to ask if it is impossible to install individually all section of drums as 50s,60s,vintage,modern etc I do have a lot space of disk and i dont want to install all of drums from your Collection.
1:35 is fool in the rain by led zeppelin!
looks cool. but what are these abbey road programs used for?
The range of drum sounds that the 60s and 70s cover is tremendous and yet the drum sounds presented here aren't even remotely in the ballpark for those time periods. The problem is that few if any of the drum sounds of this era were obtained by recording a drum kit in the middle of the live room with no baffling or anything else around. If you don't get the room part of the equation right, the channel strip and mics used are irrelevant.
@dapik5 I'm a drummer, although this ARD software certainly fakes drums and makes you question what you hear in songs nowadays, aside from that, in a drummer's paws, the tweaking of the parameters and so on will sound like a drummer would play. In other words, in a drummers hand, this will sound authentic. But say in a Hip hoppers hands, it won't. The other up cool thing about this is that you get the magic of Abbey Road and thats a good mental thing.
how do i get the new mixer so i can compress and limit drums individually ive seen other people able to use it why cant i
What is the song that plays in the background at the beginning and throughout?
Hey I got Kontakt 4 Player and used the serial number and everything but theres this buzz over all of the instruments. I cant figure out how to get rid of it. It seems like some sort of a deterent so you cant use the samples but the program is designed to be free. How do I get rid of this? Please help!
she knows the overhead knob
how do I get abbey to actually play tracks I already have or ANY TRACKS at that? I have tones of wav and midi files of grooves ..please help..lol
Can I plug in my E drum via midi to usb and play the sounds, is that how it works?
how do I separate each instrument into an individual channel? for example the kick into one channel, the snare into the other, the high hat into the next etc, i noticed the video has it set that way so i know its possible, but the standard way it comes has everything set to one channel and i haven't been able to figure out how to add more channels and separate them.
go to native instruments site ,they give you direct instructions
Same question i have. did you figure it out yet? hopefully so. its been two years since you posted the question
@nicknchrist no, you need kontakt player
Does it sound better than any EZX with Toontrack ez drummer 2 too ?
It's different, I think other drum libraries like EZ are worth having in addition to the Kontakt drum libraries. Abbey Road has a more vintage sound plus the Kontakt libraries are great if you want to do entire tracks using only Kontakt. The other libraries like EZ drummer and Ocean drums would be great for mixing and matching with other VST instruments like Halion. I like the fact EZ drummer comes with loads of expansion options so you can tailor your drum kit to your needs.
How do i separate the drums in cubase??? Should some be mono and stereo??? : (
is there a way to run abbey road drums sound with ez drummer?
where can i get this program??
Is there a demo for this?
@dapik5 um no, this is great stuff, and you probably disagree because you just can't program drums well as you don't have the sense of rhythm required, but if you can program drums this can sound just as good as a real drummer, in a real studio with really good drums and the abbey road room, which not everyone has in their house (in fact no-one does), something which just 'getting a real drummer' doesn't completely satisfy.
@Lgw1984
You would be suprised homie! I personally used to record live drums at my studio. And was able to acheive a good sound. but now that I have my yamaha dtxplorer, and superior drummer 2.0, I am amazed at the results. shoot me an email and ill let you hear what ive been able to do!
Can I use this with The Maschine?
Does it have octoban?!
I think Ringo used this drums since their from Abbey Road, the road where The Beatles' studio was
I think Ringo used his own drum kit when he was with The Beatles because I came across a video of him talking about his Ludwig drum kit but the drum kit NI sampled is still one very close. I think many artists and session drummers in the 60s and 70s used Ludwig drums including The Kinks. To be honest the advantage of this drum kit not necessarily being the very kit Ringo used makes it sound a little more unique because every single individual drum is unique.
I bought 80's drummer sounds great .....But hook it up to E drums and it kills the CPU in 2 minutes and thats a quad core with 8G. I have tried everything to bring down CPU use, even with INIT no FX it still dies. My mate, who has played a Yamy 9000 since the 80's, reckons its awsome for the short time they work. Bought Addictive drums... use them no worries.
why cant i get the same mixer as studio drummer some people can but i cant and i cant individually effect my drums only as the whole kit someone please help as this is making it really annoying to use
Please release or update the lib with use Bruhe'z not only DrumStick!
the drum beat was from Led Zeppelin's "Fool In The Rain", wasnt it?
what website is this gameon
@UncleManwich Well, that's probably another gig she is got... those voices!
@Caito1412 Thats because she's British and so does that bother you? What is she suppose to sound all up and giddy-like an American?
I fucking love her voice
What's the song at the beginning?!?
@zeroskater2368 oh ok i knew it sounded Bonham'ish
lol at 1:21 it sounds like the drum part for Led zeppelins - fool in the rain
sounds kool, but all this this just for the sound of the room???
Abbey60' is buyed! Awesome! Thank you NI. But one thing where are the Brush Sound's? Only drumstick is used! why? this is where this lib Fail! If you want jazzy smooth brushed drumz , then this 60' nad 70' kit not for you! bu as i say This is Clean and Better sound you ever hear!!! must buy it
Well, I guess I won't be needing my drummer anymore. lol
@fooloof odds are this comes as both a VST and RTAS
what website is this game
It would be better if you renew this video regarding that it is a decade old.
@RizzoAstronama i have no clue what that is.
sounds great and the interface really looks 70s-like
but the woman who is talking, doesn't seem to be that enthusiastic^^
@Lgw1984 ha ha ha.... so right..

Take a listen to this legendary room... That made me lol so hard...
MANDA AI O LINK
The overhead knob, eh?
How Much Is This??????
does it need kontakt
Yes you will need to install Kontakt to use it and you will also need Native Access.
But all Native Instruments libraries are Kontakt Free Player compatible.

Her pronunciation of "mute" sounded like "meat".
That's called a London accent.
Heh, I'd rather get an old 60s or 70s mustang than an Enzo.

Absolutely NOT. How the hell does this mixer thing work? It doesn't show me _anything _*_but_* the kick drum, and I cannot add others. How do I get the snare, toms and cymbals into the mixer??!?
Oh yes I bet you're very familiar with the overhead nob aren't you?
