I have strip LEDs on the back of my Kallax that emits light on the wall, which reflects through my platter in a similar way but not as intense. I definitely like this option a lot more that the light disc beneath the platter. Very cool!

I was using a light ring prior, because sometimes its a fun vibe to have this diffused glow at night with all the other lights off, but this is a better fit and it’s custom to the Fluance which is the turntable I have. I had been wanting to add lights to my RT85 for awhile, but just could not attach anything to the plynth. So a couple a months ago, I got the Grady plastic lights in with the white lights. It was a super easy install, under 2 minutes, it works and looks great.
Great video Nick. This light-kit is a great addition to my Rt85. I have mine for about 3 weeks now and it looks great. I also had lights under the platter this is a 100 times better looking and very easy to install
Looks great without a record. BUT!!!! Won't a cover and record obscure the light? My Rega has a glass platter but I don't see the point. More interested in a down facing lamp.
I posted on this site about 2 years ago of a better solution, but I believe I deleted the post from lack of any comments. I own a Fluance RT85 Turntable with an Acrylic Platter. The BEST (BEST) option is using Dobewingdelou RGB LED Light for PS5 and P5 Slim 8 Colors 400 Effects Music Sync Color Changing Lights. It comes with two light rings. One you can mount under the platter and the 2nd under the player. Nuff said about that.
@@TheVinylDen. There is always a concern with the LED clearance under the platter, but in all this time I've had no issues with rubbing. I can offer this advise tho. Use all the double sided stickers (circles) on the upper light ring. You want to make sure it stays completely stuck down. For the bottom light ring I just used common double sided tape. Another awesome thing to mention about this set is the mic. It really is super sensitive to sound. The set also comes with a remote, but it uses IR. Because of that IR feature, line of sight with the remote is necessary. Same as most TV remotes anyways.
I WANT THIS for my RT-85! Figures they’re totally out of stock. This beats the crap out of any light ring with a taped cord. Wonder when they’ll be back in stock
There was a batch of them on their Etsy page last night, but they sold out in a couple of hours. Keep an eye on their site though, because they have been restocking them pretty regularly. You can also email them and see when their next drop will be.
Love the idea but not under platter please. As a person with vintage Garrard and other transcription type turntables... The groundloop W&F and more will suffer.
My Technics SL-1600 MKII already has a pop up light to see what track the stylus is on. Plus my table is a direct drive with a heavy metal platter for super low W&F. No stupid LEDs needed to make it look "cool".

I have these and they are perfect, very well built and look like they are built into the turntable, it’s a must have for Fluance owners
I got this kit a few weeks ago and it looks amazing. I didn’t want anything that has adhesive on it and this was perfect

I don't have an acrylic platter on my turntable, so I can't use something like that but it looks really cool and easy to install.

No, because the light is shining through the platter from the side, so it fully illuminates the entire platter even while playing a record.

No light ring adhered to the platter with a cord running underneath is gonna be better than this

That’s what I thought was so great about this new design, that it sets beside the platter instead of underneath it.
Tell me you don't know about electrical interference isolation without tell me you don't know about electrical interference isolation with turntables.
