It’s going to be Rouge…she’s not knocked out for nothing
Something I noticed is you can really show the difference between this and the MCU. In the MCU you see Hulk smash a tank and you think "hell yeah hulk smash cool" In X-Men 97 when Rogue is smashing those tanks it was "Hell yeah F*&@ those guys!" We felt her anger. We connected with her pain. Why is it this and Into the Spiderverse can do this but live action can't? Aside from Guardians of the Galaxy I can't think of many MCU characters who I cared about. Gambits death hit harder than Visions or Black Widows. When Rogue breaks down crying you aren't thinking about her outfit.
Cable and the techno organic virus is the dice 🎲 not Xavier we are probably going to see Onslaught by season 4
After that North Pole stunt, I’m pretty sure Magnis is irredeemable
IS NO ONE GOING TO MENTION THE KITTY?!?
even Doom was like “Y’all are wylding I’m out”
True, I highly doubt Victor would team up with Bastion to begin with as I feel he would stab Doom in the back as Bastion not only wants to wipe out mutants but also humans and this would go against Victor’s plans
And Doom hates anyone who feels now curious than him.
Lmao
💀💀💀
Doom and Zemo: "I may be a Super Villain, but war crimes?? Even we won't mess with the Geneva Convention."
Bastion: "Geneva Convention? More like Geneva SUGGESTION 🤪🤪🤪🤖🤖"
“ENOUGH “, one of the strongest words in Marvel Animation history
And he said it with such release. It could be interpreted as calm, but it was "I was right all along" mixed with "let me show you my real power".
I could literally feel every bit of the anger, sadness, and empathy he feels for all the mutants that have been harmed by humanity in that single word. One of the best moments I've ever seen in Marvel. Period. Also, the fact that he opted not to put any more clothing on before going to the North Pole is a great subtle way to show how fed up Magneto is with humanity's bigotry. Loved it so much.
Gotta take into account how he hadn’t spoken since Genosha then those are his first words 🔥🔥🔥
Anyone else now on Magneto side. He's not the villian yet. He is still the hero.
Right next to "Nani!"
The "Enough" from Magneto gives me "No More Mutants" vibes! I can see why they're family!
The problem is that Wanda was a puppet of Quicksilver.
I’m on my knees for a possible Wanda appearance
Somehow this show keeps getting better and after episode 5 I didn’t think that was possible.
Nahh cos episode 6 and 7 was abit slow and not that good
@@symbolofpeacetv1578 6 definitely was
Magneto had shut down all technology across the Earth. Nuclear plants, Hospitals, planes trains & etc. all reliant on power. Let that sink in
this remember me when Cpt Price did something similar in the OG Modern Warfare 2 to literally make every single plane crash
Obviously a good deal of disbelief must be suspended to enjoy the show but wow if they followed through on the implications of what magneto did there’s no way he declared war, he actually ended it by sending the whole planet to essentially a Stone Age. But I’m pretty sure the next episode the Xmen are jumping into their jet
Pacemakers, hospital equipment… probably the internet! A total electromagnetic shut down. It’s like what we feared what Y2K would actually be.
most people don't get it, they think it would be a minor setback...
@@prospersikhwari5289 that would be really poor writing
I'm agreeing with Tommy on this, I think Bastion wanted Valerie Cooper to free Magneto because he knows Magneto already has animosity towards humanity. So, if Magneto goes out and commits violent activism against the world and the world still sees him as the leader of the X-Men, then all Bastion would have to do is just sit back and let the hate fight the war for him. Then when the dust settles, Bastion will come out of the shadows and play savior and rebuild humanity in his image while shaming mutants all together. Despite Magneto's cause being just, the world will still see him and the X-Men them as threats. Perhaps this'll be the origin of X-Force in the show.
Bastion literally said..oh..of course she did
But Bastion NEEDS humanity to evolve them into his sentinel slaves.
This episode is what secret invasion was supposed to be this was excellent.
The message I got from this episode was I need to get my ass into the gym
Because 90 year old Magneto is body shaming us all
For real!!
He's ca. 70 in X-Men '97. But still impressive, yes.
Like daddy chill 😂
It’s been two weeks at least per President Kelly telling Cyclops “it’s been two weeks since we found a survivor “
She doesn’t really watch the show, just skims through it
I was about to say this
Magneto crashed all tech with the EMP which means no Screen Crush uploads. Definitely a villain.
We'll have to journey to the store to watch it.
Well, we are all gonna meet up at the store more often... I'll remember my deodorant this time.... Sorry about last time... Lol
Unfortunately, New Rockstars is powered by the souls of children and puppies
@@mlc4050 True
Nah that happened in 97’
Whenever I hear Mandripoor I think of Zemo dancing
mcu silly moment. cant wait for mcu and feige to ruin xmen too.
Shup up, MCU fanboy.
Whenever I hear Madripoor, I think of Patch. If you know, you know.
A full season Age of Apocalypse arc would be amazing.
That would be intriguing to watch.
READ my mind. I was looking at some AoA books the other day and thought a '97 version would be awesome!
They were doing with season 2 of Wolverine and X Men
I've said this to other youtubers but ill attempt to make you realize something subtle. In "One Man's Worth", Nimrod is fought TWICE and defeated TWICE. The first time, his timeband isn't destroyed but the second time, it is. What most people do not realize... those are TWO DIFFERENT NIMRODs. The first one that was defeated, kept his timeband but his future was destroyed so he was stuck in the 1960s. THAT'S the Nimrod that infected the Janitor to make Bastion. (for simplicity: the Nimrod in Part 1 is the first one and the Nimrod in Part 2 is the second one. The part 1 Nimrod is seen reconstituting itself and floating away.)
thank u for that info!
Just rewatched it and noticed that , itll come back in 97
That makes a lot more sense! I even watched those before this on the showrunner's recommendation and didn't even think it'd be two nimrods. Why would the one blown up by Storm stay dead?
Magneto’s “Enough”, was towards people trying to tie everything into the MCU, when XTAS/97 has already eclipsed it as its own thing.
Magneto can't be a villain "again" if he's right.
Ikr
He isn’t right. He was literally freed by a human(unless she’s mystique). This whole thing only happened due to a machine
He never was a villain
@@MaverickX36 he very explicitly was.
Heroic antagonist. Except in the ultimate comics but we don’t count those outside of Miles Morales.
I seriously CAN NOT believe how fantastic this show is. I wasn't even wild about the original in '92. I was a bit too young, but still bought the toys, pop up books, and would watch the theme song.
Magneto EMP’d the whole planet….thats f’n insane!!!
Wolverine is totally going to get his Adamantium ripped out by Magneto and then go on a spirt quest next season.
This aged well
I'd imagine that its been longer than "a week" since Genosha, there has been an xmen led recovery expedition as well as Remy's funeral, and Rogue's investigation/rampage. A real humans for mutants movement has started complete with Sunspot's mom's charity ball. I feel at least its been closer to a month since Genosha
The 1st broadcast after Genosha said its been 2 weeks since what happened on Genosha so this episode is even further along so yeah about a month
Xavier and Magneto Fusion dance .
Edit for the full theory
Onslaught Happens deareats Bastion, but also the world , que Apocalypse the age of season 2. Maybe?
Marvel really missed an opportunity not producing or announcing a film at the end of this season. It’s so much hype around X-men right now, I could understand a pause on the avengers and a move forward with the X-men film universe.
2 episodes left
I think they have a plan to take this era/universe of the X-men and transfer them over to the MCU. In Dr. Strange him and Chavez travel through a animated universe. With the incursions and the multiverse falling apart they may need to repair it by combining some universes together. With that they can have the X-men and not need to explain where they have been all this time. "The Mutants are coming Home" thing they kept hinting at in the early stages. That may be why the episodes are moving fast, eventually they want everything to be ready for the next phase. I think Hugh Jackman's Wolverine will become an Old Man Logan Variant but they will cast newer younger actors to portray them in Secret Wars etc
It is also highly possible that Dr. Doom (phd) actually starts trying to stop Bastion! I would love to see Doom actually getting involved more, one way or the other!
Do you think Bastion could control all the Doombots in Latveria?
@@maxspecs No, I feel that Dr Doom would most likely be aware to some extent what bastion is. I would make the argument that Dr Doom is more intelligent than Reed Richards, Doom always has contingency plans for his contingency plans.
I just want to hear on the last episode:
"Fear me, I am Onlslaught."
Behold my mighty hand!
My prediction is that xavier will split the team into two strikes forces one to take down bastion, and his prime sentinels the second to take down magneto cable will be attached to the team stopping bastion much like in fatal attractions, professor x ,and jean grey will be on the team trying to stop magneto.
Do you think the show will have Magneto pull the Adamatium out of Wolverine like Fatal Attraction
So funny you don't use a single period until the end. I agree with what you said it was just one giant run-on sentence. Lol
Bishop is going to be the X Factor in all of this
I love that I always hear wrestling terms out of Ryan!
"Heal turn", "Face turn"
Heel
It's heel, not heal.
That issue of fatal attractions is the one where magneto emps the world and the clear inspiration for his actions in this episoxe
Xavier spent most of the original seasons just screaming or in peril, other than saying “to me, my Xmen”, he didn’t do much!
Magneto isn’t a villain he’s a tragic anti hero, as a kid it’s clear cut who the hero’s and villains are , but after growing up you learn to understand the villians perspective especially magneto he honestly isn’t wrong but he’s going about his way the wrong way
M’y guess is that the Xmen will be split up, some will stand by Charles and some will be standing with Magneto
Civil War part 3
Rouge is with magneto for sure. Who else?
If we can get a Spiderman cameo we can get a Kang one
I hope Magneto goes back to being a villain because I want to see bone claw Wolverine which happened in the Fatal Attraction comic storyline.
Cant wait for them to animate magneto extracting the Adamantium from wolverine. Then onslaught for the third season.
Magneto and Xavier join forces and Colonize Mars.
Ryan I think you missed a huge opportunity. You could have created a “somehow, (APOCALYPSE) returned.” Oscar Isaac crossover!!! 🤣🤣🤣
We are gonna get a fatal attraction scenario of Professor X v Magento to prevent him from laying waste to humanity. He wipes his mind and the seed for Onslaught and/or Cassandra Nova is planted.
I have a 100% feeling that Magento is coming back as a villain full time after Episode 8, after what happened with Genosha and also thinks that the death of thousands of Mutants were literally the fault of human society without seeing that Bastion has played him and everyone, he's literally going to end being Bastion's "puppet" and literally start an all-out war against humanity like he originally tried to do long ago from the 1992 animated series. OMG the finale is going to get crazy, I hope it doesn't end up like Infinity War with every hero dying (Still hurt me so emotionally hard from Avengers Infinity War), omg I need to know how it ends but I hope that most of the X-Men survive through the crazy final battle.
What did you think of the episode?
Great episode ❤
This episode was amazing one of best in the entire series.
Oh, it was more than "enough" for me. Spot on.
When xavier crashes into the xmansion and Morph and Wolverine show up, Wolverine pops "bone claws" on his right hand. Logan is 100% losing his adamantium EDIT: it would be a weird editing error ifit was not intentional
10/10
Something is off as Bastion’s moms was expecting Team Summers a day later
Cable is probably the x factor or they will reveal that Bishop is helping somehow. Time travel schinanigans.
Yeah same I was hmmm a day off this dude def isn’t the type to have things wrong what could this mean 😅🤓🤩
I think we’re gonna see Hope Summers at some point soon. I think they’re setting up Avengers vs. X Men at some point. Scott’s shows glimmers of the same characteristics he does as when he has the Phoenix Force
The Capt America apperance was def a hint in that direction
@@johngallagher72 I was thinking that. And in the early episodes they even use the word “hope” a lot. Like in what I thought were Easter eggs but I haven’t heard anyone point that out yet
Anytime I hear that Tommy is back on the vid I get super pumped and yell out “Tommmmy!” Like Joel from Last of Us xD the guy just don’t miss with his takes!
I keep thinking of the end credits.
Wolverine, Rogue, and Magneto are never clicked on. Ive been thinking that might mean that they die or are particularly pivotal to the resolution of this season. But NOW i wonder if they don’t ever get clicked because they will actually separate from the team. Notice how Xavier’s “to me, my x-men” conjures neither Rogue’s nor Wolverine’s psychic image. Hmmm… I’ll be so surprised if the end credits aren’t pointing to something.
I also wonder if we’re building towards Onslaught for next season…
It’s a throw back to how you never got to see the final xmen get clicked on in the end credits when it was in syndication. It always cut off before you saw the other X-men.
The prime sentinels didn’t attack a vulnerable Rogue.. which I would guess is because she’s infected. Also Madalyn and Remy being resurrected as horsemen of Apocalypse would be insane
X-Men 97 has been nothing short of phenomenal. We NEED to continue this type of Wolverine action. He’s the most badass in all the X-Men he needs his spotlight.
He’s had his spotlight for 20 years
@@stevenhedge2850and his action we are Blessed with in this episode reminds us why.
Deadpool said it best, Wolverine is too popular to ever die.
What if we're all wrong about Magneto. He has to know that Bastion (and Mr Sinister by extention) is the BBEG behind everything and maybe he'll try and allign himself along the lines of the xmen and charles bc he doesnt really blame humans.
I'm so ready for magneto to go off 😅
THANKS for this, Doug and ScreenCrush Gang!!!! Lovin' "X-Men '97!!!!"
"I do love video games and I don't think I would make it on the inside"🤣🤣🤣
That episode was dope. I think we're getting Messiah Complex into Krakoa.
We can only HOPE
@@begcoinsnice
Hope so.
Krakoa is just a copy of the Inhumans stories.
i wasnt a fan of Krakoa myself but im on for the ride.
The idea that this was Bastion’s plan, makes total sense and is so obvious now that it’s been pointed out. The observation that the wider population still would see Magneto as leader of the Xmen, and therefore his act is attributed to them is also really astute and just adds more weight to Bastion’s plan. This series has been incredibly well plotted.
I think Magneto will take his good old "aggressive" approach to fighting Bastion, and since Bastion is being supported by various different governments, he's going to attack those governments.
Xavier will come and do his old "there has to be another way" with Magneto. They might fight a bit, but in the end they would eventually team up to defeat Bastion.
I want a House of M adaptation
I love this theory video.
Very very nice, well done and well thought out.
Loving that you guys add so much depth, context and perspective to increase repeat viewing and enjoyment.
Thanks to the whole team.
Hey Brianna 😉
Loving all these mixed pre-produced + podcasty episodes by the way! Colton, Tommy, Briana, so many more... Love all of your guests for their insights as well as personalities! Keep up the great work!
I heard a rumor the Maximus from Fallout is the new Kang.
Needs to be Ryan gosling just to hear the outrage.
@@johnj4471 😆😆
@@johnj4471 NOoo he's already black panther
He does look kind of look like Jonathan Majors
@@tylongkicks8821 they do resemble a bit.
Let’s look at the opening …Magneto is always the villain versus X-Men and in this universe because in the opening they never cut out X-men with Xavier vs Magneto and his team. Even when Magneto becomes the leader in the opening when he does the X with beams it still always show Xavier and X-men versus Magneto and his crew versus X-men just like in all the 90s show.
This show got me back into Marvel
This trio always delivers! Great video guys
Kang speculation is the new Mephisto whenever a RUclipsr plays with theory time.
7:10 while the Xmen were holding hands Bastion was also laying dominos
Mr. Sinister knew to give Madelyn back to Charles and Magneto because Jean was cloned in Reunion Part 1
I've found it interesting that nobody mentions how closely the voice actor for Cable sounds like Josh Brolin's version of Cable. It's the only character in this show that is like that everyone else seems to be distinct from their live action counterpart except him.
Genetic war? Is this the one led by Khan? Is Star Trek Cannon on the Marvel Multiverse? When do we see Mr Spock meet Professor X? This is going to be AWESOME!
Years ago before the X-Men movies, X-Men actually crossed over with Star Trekk in a book. I vividly remember that there was a joke that Picard and Prof X looked similar...then Patrick Stewart ended up playing Prof X in the movies!
@@Talen1976 I remember that! 😂
Did everyone forget about Gambits time as the horseman Death? He's coming back
Xmen 97 is the best comic show out right now.
I think they probably want to distance themselves from Kang as much as possible at the moment so I doubt he will have anything to do with X-Men 97, for better or for worse. Reintroducing Apocalypse seems much more plausible as anyone who grew up watching the original cartoon has a lot of nostalgia for him... it's just too bad John Colicos isn't about to voice him any more because he made that character so freaking cool.
The show producer really enjoyed "Reminder" run with the x-force comics. In uncanny avengers, whose plot is a consequence from uncanny x-force, we see some horsemen being made from fallen heroes/villains with a death seed.
That could be a cool way to bring Gambit again, in the comics there is a brief arc of him being a horsemen. I see apocalypse being a big villain in future seasons
I think bastion and cables lives are so closely intertwined that you cannot have one without the other. It makes me wonder if they’re gonna try to mess with Cables’ past in order to prevent Nimrod becoming Bastion.
Yeah there you go my dude I was wondering where you was at man !!
This guy always incorporates Kang in his marvel theory videos
Felt like a series finale. Loved it
Wanda gonna come in and start saying the three words then Loki come down and be like I’ll have you saying no more for eternity 😂
Man your hair is looking GREAT!!!
Ryan going off at 5:46 is why screen crush is the best
Here’s my take on this: Bastion is playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers. I agree with Tommy, Bastion allowed Val Cooper to free Magneto simply because he wants the public to see the X-Men as the bad guys to possibly set up Avengers vs X-Men, because why else would they bring in Captain America, have him mention the Avengers and hell show Spiderman. Bastion has set up everything from the beginning and knows how things are going to go. However, with Charles showing up I think threw his plans off because he knows that he is the only one who could actually talk sense into Eric and have him stop. This show is building up to Avengers vs X-Men because the government is going to view the X-Men as an Avengers level threat.
Electro magnetic wave of Magneto is superb...
Tommy! Bad! Bad Tommy! Omni-potent AND heroicism? It's om-nip-o-tent & heroism. That's 2 strikes before we send you back to middle school brother. Get it together, we need you. ✌️
What if the end of this season is what kicks off the first season of " The Gifted "
Bastion did count on Magneto escaping. He was surrounded by old school tech that an emp would not disrupt.
He doesn't wanna know what they do to socks on the inside. Bishop & Cable always kick ass no matter what time.
Honestly, one thing I both love and am little confused by with this show is how they try to give each member of the X-Men their moments, which are being crammed into episode 8. My theory is that Beast, Logan, and Morph will have their moments that are key to stopping this.
Honestly, with the discourse of Morph versus what they did in the show outside of fight scenes I wouldn't be surprised if them joining the Exiles became an important plot point for season 2 to help deal with some of the aftermath.
Cable 'growing up' after the 'end' of Bastion's future knowledge would make him a blind spot to some extent. He did need to get the techno organic virus in order to create the prime sentinels, which is the primary reason for allying with Sinister in the first place. That could explain why the 'real' Jean was released. Bastion didn't want Sinister to complete his experiment on Nathan, so by releasing Jean, he sped things up to make sure to interrupt whatever process Sinister was part of.
I do like the idea of the absolute points in time being connected to beyond good and evil, since it is basically time protecting itself by making sure certain things always occur. There will always be a Bastian and always be a Cable. No matter what they do, no matter how time changes, they will always be created and always go back in time to try to change things. Bastion is probably a similar situation, but Bastian is like He Who Remains, in that we don't know how many loops Bastian has gone through. One Man's Worth seems to be the 'origin' of Bastion, but if Bastion ends up creating a future similar to the one that sent back Nimrod, and ends up doing the same thing to make sure his own creation happens, he can actually include new information each time. So Bastion would have learned what he can or can't control, what to expect, etc ...
It's very much Terminator plot where competing time travelers recursively go back to gain an advantage over the other side, neither can truly prevent a future that will create them, but they are able to change things. Some times this results in bootstrap paradoxes (like Skynet turning Sarah Conners into the person that would inspire the rebellion they were trying to stop or Skynet speeding up it's own development by having some of the tech be discovered in the past) but even when a specific event is stopped, it often just pushes those events further, not preventing them outright. Not so much a fixed point in time, but an inevitable event.
I want the Rogue sentinel reveal to hold off until like season 3, when we've all forgotten about it...
Ive never been very knowledgeable on these comics. Im just happy these shows and movies are happening and all the conversations they create. Its bery interesting hearing different people takes and predictions. The MCU if nothing else has given is stuff to talk about
With the Fatal Attractions tease, I'd bet my hat that we're getting Wolverine's adamantium pulled out and Xavier wiping Magneto (and planting the seed for Onslaught). My hat!
This season is Gambit dying, next season is Wolverine losing his adamantium.
Happy birthday Doug!
I always think that Mr. Sinister is always the unsung protagonist that created Cable to save the future.
This was one of the greatest episode I've seen in terms of North American standard of cartoons BY FAR. The wolverine and nightcrawler scene was EPIC. Having nightcrawler take us through his teleportation with wolverine was INSANE and NONE of us have ever experienced that view before. Absolutely insane. 5\5 with X-Men 97.
I’d say check out the older Xmen Evolution series, there was a set of episodes that fully explored Nightcrawler’s teleports.
This could all be leading to Krakoa. The melding of the Xavier and Magnus worldview and how that impacts the world would be a great story to tell.
Except Genosha was basically krakoa
Apocalypse also used tech belonging to Kang when he ruled Egypt as Rama Tut.
I want to see a day where E.A Voss and Ryan do a video on both their channels simultaneously geeking out
Maybe the Kang variant interested in this timeline is not Immortus but instead Rama-Tut. For it was he who then chose Apocalypse as his successor.
Great episode
The professor psychic blasts Magneto. And the teaser of Onslaught for season 2
Hey, I usually don’t thumbs up videos but you got a thumbs up for me for that Star scream reference from transformers that was nice. I like that.
Apocalypse is going to bring back Gambit as Death
Part of his new age horseman
Apocalypse's new Horsemen were Gazer as War, Sunfire as Famine, Polaris as Pestilence, and Gambit as Death.
"House blow up builds character"! :))
Magneto is right. Love it.
