I have a feeling that season 3 will be better than 2. Season 2 felt like a lot of set up. The only episode that had any real consequences was the finale, but those consequences were so severe and far-reaching that it has reshaped the series. Johnny has lost everything, and so has Robbie. Daniel is quitting karate. Kreese is back in charge of Cobra Kai, and Miguel may be paralyzed. Holy crap. The ending of season 2 was definitely the most powerful moment the show has had yet. I give season 1 a 10/10 and season 2 a 7/10 overall. I felt it has some pacing issues, and the situations felt a little bit less realistic/natural than they did in the first season, but the ending was better than anything in season 1.

@@danlc95 I totally agree. I can't believe they put such drama on Robbie's character. I need to hear an explanation, from Robbie, that he had no idea how close Miguel was to the balcony, and how mad he got when he kicked him. I like Miguel's character slightly more, but I think it is because how nice he is, and how he was this really good kid to begin with. I understand Robbie's issues, and why he was a thief, before he met Daniel, but I guess because Miguel was in love first, was so innocent when he constantly got beat up by that gang from season 1. Everything his Mom told Johnny is true: he was a good kid, avoided fights, and had this very not knowing how the real world works, quality about him, that makes you fall in love with his character. You what would really build Robbie's character (even more) is they make peace, but he wants nothing to do with karate, anymore, and it takes constant pushing from Miguel to get him back into it. Something like Miguel first forgiving him, making peace, then Robbie agree, but telling Miguel that he can only live with himself, if Miguel forgives him, and he never trains again. Then as time goes by, and this Kreese Cobra Kai, gets more dangerous, Robbie ends up saving Miguel, or something along those lines, and Miguel telling him "now will you join your Dad, Daniel, me, and the rest of Myagi Do Karate again, because we can't do it without you. That kind of arc could go into season 4 just to have Robbie have a whole season where he focuses on school, his Mom, Dad, and friendship with Miguel, only to (some day soon) have to go back to Karate to help fight the evil Cobra Kai students. That is what I would like to see for Robbie's character arc.
These three writers have absolutely hit it out of the park!!!! They truly did it right and didn’t ruin an iconic movie. Already pacing back and forth for season 3.

@@mattr8251 Yeah, I thought season one was fantastic, surprisingly so good all around. Season two was kind of what I expected this series would be. I didn’t it was as good as the first season, but I still enjoyed it
I met this guy twice, totally random, Jerry's Deli in the Valley, he was very cool to everyone and didn't mind us asking questions about the original film.
The writing on this show is fantastic..the way they appeal to the original 80's fans with the music and 80's references tossed in is genious, while still appealing to the newer generation who may have never even seen the original Karate Kid...they have found a magic recipie for this show, and works for everyone, regardless of age, which is very hard to do
The writing truly is brilliant. I hated Johnny Lawrence, as intended, in the first movie and now I'm rooting for his character. Larusso is doing such a great job playing such a reactionary character that he makes it hard not to root for Johnny, all intended it seems due to the writing. The biggest thing I noticed, and the most frustrating thing for me, is that in each confrontation if they would take more than one minute to talk they'd realize they were blowing everything out of proportion, especially Larusso, however, Johnny's character struggles with words so he misses opportunities to defend himself and get across his intention of changing his ways. All very dynamic and again, brilliantly written and acted.
Having grown up through the 80s, my take on what's been redone/continued: Aliens.... Destroyed. Predator.... Destroyed. Ghostbusters.... Destroyed. StarWars..... Destroyed. Terminator..... Destroyed. Kobra Kai (Karate Kid of course)..... Defeat!, does NOT exist!, with this show! DOES IT?! Thank you for not ruining this one!

BUT the writers you can tell have a love for the karate kid and really want to create a fun, well written narrative that doesn't take itself too seriously.
As Barney Stinson said, THE REAL KARATE KID.😂😂😂😂😂
Hated Johnny Laurence in karate kid I now am totally in love with him in cobra kai bring on season 3
I watched all ten episodes in a row... Now im sad lol I need more
I know right man
I know right now what got look forward to haven't even heard when. Season. 3 coming out
I legit cried
Just what happened to me
can't wait season 3 with elizabeth shue
These three writers have absolutely hit it out of the park!!!! They truly did it right and didn’t ruin an iconic movie. Already pacing back and forth for season 3.
The guy who plays Kreese looks and sounds exactly the same. This show is pretty damn good.
And he´s 74 years old. That's insane!
Hes lost a bit of muscle etc..But hes obv looked after himself through life..
Probably maintains a healthy lifestyle, good on him 💖
I nearly cried during the end, but I'm a Cobra Kai so i dont cry...
That's right Cobra Kai don't die strike 1st strike hard
Cobra Kai are not pussies
You know kreese is cobra kai sensei now and I can’t be cobra kai while he is in charge
David Shareef Impossible what really pissed me off when I saw Tory at cobra kai dojo after making Miguel getting in a fight because of her
I was once a Cobra Kai but once Johnny left I became a myagi do....
Johnny Lawrence is a great character. This show is AWESOME
Am I the only one who thinks she's a great interviewer? She asks great questions and LISTENS!
Agreed. & Jenny has been at it awhile, she had a variety show on MTV in the 90's.
I think so too!! Love this. Jenny’s professionalisms is fantastic as an interviewer.
6:37 --- Huge kudos to Zabka who "does his own stunts", and truly does his own martial arts on the show.
I can't see anyone NOT liking this guy. He's just so...chill and mysterious.
I loved season one. But season two was next level. It was so good.
The middle episodes were kind of soft but the last few more than made up for it.. season 1 was solid the whole way.. but love the show overall .. totally hooked
@@mattr8251 Yeah, I thought season one was fantastic, surprisingly so good all around. Season two was kind of what I expected this series would be. I didn’t it was as good as the first season, but I still enjoyed it
I hope William Zabka gets more work based on his brilliant acting in this awesome series.
amen to that!!!
Amen.!! As well. He's done a great job!!!!
He's just so darn likable and that makes his acting better. Love this show to pieces.
I met this guy twice, totally random, Jerry's Deli in the Valley, he was very cool to everyone and didn't mind us asking questions about the original film.
William zabka makes the show, hes a great actor.
Omg, can I just say I love William? Sigh, still SUCH a babe *sigh* 😍
The writing on this show is fantastic..the way they appeal to the original 80's fans with the music and 80's references tossed in is genious, while still appealing to the newer generation who may have never even seen the original Karate Kid...they have found a magic recipie for this show, and works for everyone, regardless of age, which is very hard to do
Star Wars writers need to take note.
And the little anti-PC nuggets thrown in is just genius and is so required.
@@hagarthehorrible1391
Yes good stuff
Did u grow up in the 80s
An Emmy for this man NOW, please
Having grown up through the 80s, my take on what's been redone/continued:
Aliens.... Destroyed.
Predator.... Destroyed.
Ghostbusters.... Destroyed.
StarWars..... Destroyed.
Terminator..... Destroyed.
Kobra Kai (Karate Kid of course)..... Defeat!, does NOT exist!, with this show! DOES IT?!
Thank you for not ruining this one!
I don't understand by defeat you douche
@@jasonbourne5142 He means it can't be defeated and lived up to the Cobra Kai motto. His punctuation made it unclear though.
I agree. Cobra Kai centers on character arcs and storytelling while the others all pandered to recent developments in ideology.
@@Nepthu I thought so
@@Nepthu gender what!? Hey is this a prank call???
I love that Jenna is an actual fan. The interview is too good and of course William is a god
Zabka played the "new johnny" SOOO perfectly! I have no idea how this guy did not end up a bigger star than he is. I am so drawn to this new johnny character and he is the main reason why I watch the new show
"Cobra Kai never dies." Billy was hysterical in hot tub time machine. Ralph was also great in Wax on F**** off! This Cobra Kai series is Top Notch!
William Zabka has completely mastered his role as Jonny. He's totally crushing his role as adult Jonny... Bravo my man,Bravo..
This is the best show, in my opinion, out there..
Need season 3 !!!!
Will have to wait damn near a year
Johnny is easily the most relatable character on the show
The writers respect the material. They don't think they are smarter than the storyline. Absolute gold!
Binge watched it as aoon as it came out and I'm SO ready for S3, got me shook more than once 😭😬 Needless to say, Johnny is the best character IMO!🐍
JKYB7088 binge watched it too and I agree and Peyton List plays Tory greatly but hopefully Miguel recovers
JKYB7088 Hell yeah! Johnny is the fucking man!
Take your time... You probably rush through everything especially....
@@Moormores Huh? Geez, there's always that person 🙄
@@caesarguzman5831 He is!! 💪🐍
As I'm watching this, The Glory Of Love by Peter Cetera (KK2) is playing on the radio in another room...
when i first saw this i thought it would be a shitty parody or something. BUT the writers you can tell have a love for the karate kid and really want to create a fun, well written narrative that doesn't take itself too seriously. Cobra kai story although very predictable doesn't matter because it is exactly what i want to happen every time!
I feel the guy who made the video of why Daniel larusso is the real bad guy in karate kid deserves a lot of credit.. he really inspired some good writers to come up with show
I forgot he was in “Back to School”!!! What a great movie!
Kevin Harris he played, Chaz and was awesome
Right a way thought of the leg cramp scene in that movie!
Just watched that 👍
I love how his Character is still thinking things in the 80’s is cool and applies in today’s world 😂😂.....
Dude!! William did such an amazing job!! The 2nd season was sick!
My hubby and I binge watched season 1 and 2. It’s addicting and nostalgic. Took us back to when the first Karate Kid came out. Loved it.
I binge watched season one and two.. Felt it hard the next day at work, but it was worth it, i love cobra kai.. Johnny lawrence is the main reason i watch it... Such a good actor.. He could have been an A list movie star.
Going to have a coors banquet everytime he says "you know"...lol
He's the best actor in his series
William Zabka is a way underrated actor! Ralph, Martin, and William are just pure genius in this new show! Please keep this show going, it';s AWESOME!
Johnny is one of the best characters I've seen in a very long time.
Was pleasantly surprised and hooked. Is great to see the back story of all the characters which really ties the movie together.
Love it! Love all the characters. Johnny is the most interesting character of them IMO. I do want a happy ending though. Him and Daniel being friends.
Zabka nailed it . Congrats man ... Great writers ...
Its a little too bad that Zabka was typecast in the 80's...he was an underrated actor.
Fresh out of high school. He has done pretty well since. Much broader range. Peace, Zab
He was Scott McCall; the son of The Equalizer with Edward Wood in the 80's
I grew up in the 80s and he played the bully perfectly. That is *exactly* what it was like in school. In fact I got the same fear I always did at school when i I saw him lol. But he's clearly a very nice person. Nobody remembers this but he played Robert McCall's son on The Equilizer TV series back then and he was actually a good guy. And you saw what you see here. I've always rooted for him and I'm glad that things are going well.
He was voted "80s Greatest Dickhead", along with Darrell from Coming to America...
I would love to be the Fly on the wall when William and Ralph are just hanging together IRL.
I'll watch Karate Kid again, I wont hate this guy as I used to. it's impossible.
At least Ralph Macchio isn’t there to keep interrupting him like all the other interviews.
This is the greatest thing to happen to us since the 80’s! Thank you for bringing these awesome actors and characters back
This show is just so perfect...it is an intergenerational masterpiece. Yeah it's just a show, but it is so much fun.
Johnny Lawrence was every high school bully in the 80s right? Who didn't have a bully that knew martial arts? Great series and William Zabka really is underrated as an actor
What a great show, i just finished S2, OMG what a cliffhanger
My husband already saw the show, and he had me binge watch it...I'm dying with that ending! Ugh my heart hurt for everyone!
I think everyone is waiting for a third season at this point. Much love for it and all those involved! I would love to see some behind the scenes stuff from the show though, versus the mic conversations!
Ugh can't wait for season 3!!!
"Who is this? Is this a prank call?" Best line of the series
I want to see Johnny vs. Mike Barnes. This NEEDS to happen!
sirroxalot dude Johnny would totally destroy barnes
Barnes was showed zero honor when he lost..
@@d00ks Johnny handed Daniel the trophy & said, "You're alright, Larusso."
Mike Barnes threw a mini-tantrum after he lost.
That speaks volumes.
johnny would kill barnes 1v1
When I heard they were going to do something with The Karate Kid. I was like are you kidding me? LOVE IT!! I love the 80's music.
Also love the scenes talking about life with old friends.👍
Just finished watching season 2 Cobra Kai it was amazing I can't wait to see season 3 I hope Jonny and Daniel team up together to defeat Cobra Kai I think that would be awesome
Misael Suarez I agree it would be cool to have Daniel and Johnny team up. And they are against kreese, terry silver, and Mikey Barnes.
@@randallreiter9679 I bet if they do.end up doing that, everyone be hyped up to see season 3 because instead of them being rivals, they will become best friends if they team up to defeat Cobra Kai and if you think about it, if they become best friends, the rivalry would be over between them
What a delight! Great seeing both William Zabka and Jenny laugh and reminisce. William has such a great perspective on his past and his character's, and the embrace of now is stunning
Great to hear him and Ralph are friends, he seems pretty genuine about the friendship. He’s cute harmlessly flirting with Jenny.
Enjoying the series! I like how they show Johnny's human side. How he wants to do the right thing and then something happens and he has a negative reaction. Like when he tells his student he cares about him and finds out about how Daniel is doing a Karate demonstration at a fair and shows him up!
If there is ever a "last of us" movie Zabka needs to play Joel.
Cobra Kai puts the corn in CornBall. I was 9 when karate Kid came out and was a super fan. NOW! at 44 years old - yep I still dig the corn.
Watched all of season 2 in about 6 hours!!!!! Loved it!!! Come on season 3
Wow! He is soooooo cool. I love his acting in cobra kai.
