Notes from Anbernic:
1.Fix known issues.
2.Add PSP joystick and D-Pad switching function.
Press R2 during the game to switch between the joystick and the D-Pad.
3.NDS adds touch pen function.
Press the power button to switch the touch pen during the game.
4.Add MD-CD simulator, pce-CD universal, pgm2 simulator.
5.Modify global search to identify optional RA emulators.
6.Modify that the power light is also turned off during sleep mode.

Note: there is now a new NEW update for 12/12/23 that people are having download issues with, and you can only get it *with* roms right now. We recommend waiting for the next update instead (or even better, Garlic, muOS, or Batocera).
Yeah, this has been... problematic for me, to say the least.
Yes, and for this you have to download seven different files, some of which are different and cannot be unpacked, let alone installed. So the current workaround is to just install the firmware without roms?
The only thing that is good about this is that I can now easily use a new and better SD-card with a fresh system and my own Roms/BIOS files.
Looking forward to GarlicOS 2.0 with GPU-support.
Does it comes with bios files?
When I put the extracted file in Etcher it says it is only 1.81 GB (not 61.9) and SD target is at 62.5 GB. What am I doing wrong?
The SD Card is 64GB, but the ROMS partition (the one that only had 1GB of stuff) is only 40GB, there are other partitions and stuff on the SD Card that take up more space. If you are on Linux, you can potentially see all of the files.
Where can I grab a working image for the RG35xx+ these days? Can't seem to find one.
got mine for 2 days and been testing it, found out the battery mine says 50% on RA but overnight it's fully drained after shutting it down on the settings. anything happened similar to your device?

Hello, unfortunately I have seven different files to download the current firmware. These cannot be unpacked because they are not zip or winrar files. It's very strange. How would you install the latest firmware WITH GAMES? Can you maybe make a video about this? Would help a lot!
Hey, recently got my rg35xx plus and was wanting to upgrade the storage on the device (didnt order the one with 2 SD cards). I'm slightly confused as to what files to download and am I right in saying that one of the cards is only for the system files and the other is for roms? Any help would be appreciated.
Any videos to help cover how to setup RA from the stockOS? After updating the firmware, mine seems to run PSP games at fullscreen now (instead of the aspect ratio set previously).
My menu options are also changed but strangely it's only for RA PSP (RA GBA works perfectly fine).
An almost empty 60 GB image file and they didn't bother to compress it ..... gawd almighty.
Can't imagine how many CCP tracking programs were installed, loll
I have emailed Anbernic about the current issues with the multiple .RAR/Zip files but they are suggesting it’s a problem my end. Have downloaded 3 times and still having issues decompressing. Anyone else had the same problems?
I did and I'm covering it in a video today, to fix it delete the last numbers on the zip file names, the ones that end in 003 and 004 etc. You want all the names to match except for the part number, so they should all be named the same and end in part 1 part 2 part 3 etc.

RG35XX Plus come with W-iFi so I don't understand why Anbernic not make it possible to update via OTA.
Because the device just came out 2 weeks ago and that functionality hasn't been implemented yet.
Do I need to delete the old version in order to install the be one? Also is there an issue if I have roms and OS in the same micro SD?
Anbernic definitely need OTA updates

Notice a significant heat on battery while testing the new update, has anyone encountered the same? Glad i did the update on seperate sd card.
When I flashed it over onto my 128gig mini sd, it ignores half the disk space thinking its nearly full after just the 61 something gig flash
Man, this Anbernic is aweseme, but having one is far too much work. Mine now won't hold a charge at all, and i couldn't figure out how to add a different operating system. I did it, and it mostly worked fine for a bit, then every game started crashing after a few seconds. I'm worried to try this out because it seems very similar to when i tried to use a separate card to add garlic.
So am i supposed to alupdaye the stalk OS? Because the cards doesn't seem even big enough. I'm so lost, and i know nothing about thos stuff, and following the steps didn't seem to work for me. Also this is the plus version right? So this isn't even the same one i have. Man this is a mess, and i have no clue. Was thinking about getting a better model, but now I'm not so sure. And teaching myself just is too ricky.
Are companies obliged to enable those stupid navigation sounds due to some accessibility rule or something, I don't know anyone who either likes them or leaves them enabled and for me, switching them off is the first thing I have to do with any new software or hardware that has them.

Yes you can.
With both SD cards in your computer delete the Rom folder on the new install and drag your old one over to add all your old games and saves.
This unfortunately seems useless at this point. The Google drive link is dead, and there are 7 files, not 5, on Anbernic's official Google drive download page. I can't make heads or tails of this. Same with the other guide I just watched, the link for THAT slimmed down Stock OS is also long dead. The utter lack of info and support for the Plus is really starting to make me regret my purchase
i updated to the newest firmware, but for some reason on psp games i can’t switch between dpad and joystick when pressing r2, i went into calibration on the ppsspp settings to see if it would recognize the joystick moving but it doesn’t, anyone know a solution?

I got new RX35XX plus today and when i truned it on my screen only shows brand name and nothing happens after that.
Tried multiple times to turn off and turn on still stuck at first logo screen :( please advise any toher option then returning it back :(((
The xx+ offers nothing new over the xx in game play. The added BT connects to nothing. The added wifi connects to nothing.
I have just printed of the label to return to sender and hope I get my money back. Stick with the xx for now guys. Don't believe on

hey there here new to ambernic. so i purchanced a ambernic rg35xx and like an idiot changed the values of the buttons. now only two buttons work and its up down but with l2 and r2. any way i can fix it? i have a mac compuiter.
Reason for 60gb image is so you have free space for your games, images are snapshots of sd cards that also contain volume information eg. partition size

I have a few questions, i think it only has about 4gb of rom after flashing to sdcard, with a whole 40gb of unallocated space, that be fixed, and Secondly, how do u get your box art to work, i used the skrapper program and put the Imgs folder with the rom in the same folders, thx.... Oh and Lastly, how in the heck do u get the factory 64 download to unzip and flash, I cant figure it out, theres 8 files, one compressed and the others just files?
Please inform how to update complete 64GB update it has 7 parts how to make iso from parts downloaded...
I have to ask… is it easy to connect the MIYOO MINI PLUS and the RG35XX PLUS to netay metal slug or head to head other games? Or is it platform sensitive?

You should try downloading the image now , gives you three options and none of them seem to work.
Can anybody help me, I just got me new anbernic plus but there's a problem some times it dies because I forget to charge it but most of tge times when I power it on I get stuck at the anbernic screen and then it just go black and it stays like that
I would suggest flashing a new SD card with the os, you might have a bad one.

It's not final yet, but an Alpha build is available
Not in a final polished release form, it's not. This is new hardware and GarlicOS2.0 needs to be developed. It's in alpha right now and will be months before it's anywhere near a final state.

Yeah, its a bummer, they replaced it with a newer version today and removed the one that didn't include roms. We recommend holding off on this update for now.
@@retrohandhelds that's ok I went thru the 40gb update to the latest firmware cause it said it supports joy stick controls but when I press R2 nothing happens and I can't play games like GTA vice City without Joy stick 😞 support. Do you know where I can get the update that supports the joy stick? Thanks for your help.

I was using an Xbox controller with the latest update, but there are still some mapping issues.

whenever i put the sd card back in, i cant use the d-pad anymore. does anyone know why? i followed this tutorial step by step.
What known issue they actually fix?
My device got hotter even I shut down the device ; firmware version v1.20231108
Make sure you're actually shutting it down and that it's not just going to sleep mode and staying on. Check to see if the battery is draining after you "turn it off".

Check to make sure your ROMs aren't compressed (as they are in the TinyBestSet compilations). TinyBestSets are intended for use with GarlicOS, which can read roms in archives to save space. StockOS can't read roms that are compressed.

When I try to download the actual firmware, it keeps failing and saying it can't download. Anybody else having this same problem?
What's the error you're seeing? There is another new update that supersedes this one (in our community posts from yesterday), but we recommend waiting at the moment as its also having some download issues. We really just recommend waiting for Garlic 2.0 to be out of Alpha to enjoy.

i only downloaded 1 and it worked just flashed it to a sd card and bam had the new firmware on my handheld

35XX plus was a disappointment. Has WiFi but no OTA updates. Has Bluetooth but no audio support.
I agree. It's not even funny anymore. I should have bought ARC-D instead.
Don't get too excited. Original 35xx was super weird until GarlicOS took off.

@@lowelllomberio the dpad on the original was a down grade but garlic OS was good. I'm sure this will improve once it gets custom firmware but as of right now I enjoyed my original more.

I just want bluetooth to work properly....otherwise I love it.
Bluetooth does work properly. Audio over Bluetooth hasn't been implemented yet and was not advertised as a fully functional feature. Just because something has a Bluetooth chip doesn't mean it supports every possible method of Bluetooth communication.

The annoying part here is you can't use a huge microsd card, because you can't expand the roms partition.
You can. You just can't use windows to do it.
You can, just don't use their garbage Firmware releases. Search the RG35XX subreddit, someone created a "fixed" stock OS release that can be scaled beyond a 64GB single card. Either that, or use a 2nd SD card for content.
@armyofninjas9055 no, you can't. The image as released by Anbernic has already had the ROM partition expanded to a maximum size of 64GB. It cannot be extended further. The solution is to either use a 2nd SD card for storage or to use the custom "fixed" firmware released by someone on the RG35XX subreddit that shrinks the image size and allows you to expand the ROM directory as large as you'd like.

While waiting for the console to arrive this week, I flashed a 128GB Samsung SD with the newly released firmware by Anbernic and then using Mini Tool Partition (you can also use GpartedLive) I moved the partition of the additional space of my SD all the way to the left up to the partition of roms, so then I was able to extend the partition of the roms with the partition next to it which is that of the extra space of my SD. Now I have all the space on my SD available

Don't know why anyone would continue to use the stock OS on this thing. I'd sooner install GarlicOS 2.0's Alpha version than put up with stock OS, from a Chinese company, no less.
As broken and jank as the Stock OS is, GarlicOS2.0 alpha is hardly any better. The complete lack of GPU access in GarlicOS2.0 is reason alone to avoid it. The device is new and all things related to it need a few months to bake before it's in as stable a state as the RG35XX. I will never understand why people who expect perfection choose to be early adopters and then whine about it...
would you recommend getting this as of the moment or just get the MM+ or the rg35xx?
RG35XX Plus it’s definitely much better it will play your games fine and just wait for a much better StockOS or GarlicOS

@@retrohandhelds 1st the GDrive link has issues with qoata limit. 2nd you said it yourself it is a tedious process to expand a 64 GB to microSD card and for what ? for some files can be just updated on the fly ... LOL

You should also be aware there were additional NEGATIVE changes implemented in this firmware.
1: WiFi now defaults to OFF after boot
2: when in sleep mode, the power LED no longer illuminates (who knows what genius approved that change)
3: the size of box art was changed, meaning anyone who already took the time to prep their box art needs to re-skrape their entire collection.
Thank you for bringing this up! @anbernic can hopefully fix these on the next.
@@retrohandhelds I won't hold my breath. After all, they're continuing to release their firmware images in a 64GB format that can't be expanded to support larger cards. I'll be waiting for GarlicOS2.0 to be finalized in a few months and just continue using my RG35XX until then.
@@retrohandhelds Hi, I flashed StockOS without games and I also transported the partition because I used a 128GB SD and obviously I want to use all the space. I wanted to ask you, since I want to put my Tiny Best Set Go roms, its own BIOS files (even if this set is made for GarlicOS and OnionOS) I still have to put them in the StockOS BIOS folder (deleting or not the bios already present in the StockOS) or will the Tiny Best Set Go roms in this case use the BIOSes already present in the StockOS and therefore I don't have to add its owns?
I'm updating cause I hope it somehow fixes my issue where the device refuses to charge. the port works, but it just won't charge nomatter what I do.
Ensure your SD card is securely seated and in working order. The device needs to read files on the SD card to charge. Sounds strange, but it's true.
@@Tamarocker88 Yeah I've made sure all that's clear. I'm doing anything I can to fix this lol. I want to enjoy the 70 dollar purchase I made. Right now my experience is not so great with absolutely nothing charging it no matter what I do.
Are you using the original charger ? I know it’s not to charge with high wattage charger
@@efraincruz8745 Yes. The USB A to USB C cable that it came with isn't charging it no matter what I do, nor does any of the other cables I have. Nothing is charging it. I flashed the stock card, I flashed it to a new card, I pulled the battery and put it back in, tried different chargers and ports on all of my computers/laptops and so such.
yeah, I'd make sure you aren't using a high wattage charger like someone else said.
Why doesn’t this just have online updates like onion miyoo… I love my 35xx plus but this is underwhelming and am thinking I’ll just leave it at stock until garlic is better.
Because the device just released 2 weeks ago and they haven't implemented it. The RG35XX wasn't perfect and polished out of the gate either. It took several months for it to reach the polished state it's known for having with GarlicOS. Give it time and the experience will be improved.
i didn’t understand any of how to do this update… will there ever be a simpler way/ one over wifi?
