i am an Evan Williams BIB fan. Just bought another 2 bottles today for the 4th weekend. great for mixing in cocktails and great by itself.. and $15 for me. Can't beat it.
If you get it in the 1.75L size, it's evan less. Lowest I can find EW BiB 1.75L is $27.99 which = $12 per 750mL. Guessing it's less for you, if the 750mL bottle is $15? Cheers!
When I was first getting into whiskey and discovered I preferred the complexity and diversity of scotch to bourbon, the one bourbon that did leave me with a better than average impression was Wild Turkey 101.
Rewatching, and enjoying as always. I'm all about these high quality 100 proofers that are always there for us. And now I shall contemplate the irony of ECBP being constantly available everywhere in Oregon at never more than $59.99 while it's hard to find in literally Kentucky. What a world we live in. ;-)
Great review guys! I was surprised by your results for sure. I'm a big WT101 fan and it's nice to see it held it's own amazingly well. The EW BIB was another I enjoyed too, but for me the WT was always a bit better. Liked that there were more flavor notes vs the EW, which was great just didn't seem as complex. That Old Grandad was totally not on my radar at all! I actually dismissed it for some reason as not a quality bourbon, man was I wrong lol. Need to get it now for sure!
In my opinion, this is one of the best RUclips channels on the topic of bourbon. The video production is very good, and the hosts are great too. It's my "go-to" bourbon channel. And, no, I'm not related to either of them. lol Keep up the good work, Chad and Sara!!
I haven't been able to find early times, but the other 3 are the core of my bourbon selection. I like each and my preference depends on what flavor I'm looking for. And you can't beat the price of these (except for OGD BiB, which is beaten by OGD 114 for just $3 more!).
Chad and Sarah, you guys are great together. Love this flight and the only one I haven't had yet is the Early Times and it's not down here in South Florida yet. Keep up the great work! Cheers!🤙
Great flight fight! Can't wait for Early Times to get into my area. Funny how in college Turkey was a crappy mixer, not I LOVE it. I wasn't a huge fan of Jim Beam BIB.
What a great review of affordable bourbons. I haven't yet tried Early Times yet, but the rest are on my buy list. These are affordable and you don't have to feel guilty about buying something too expensive and still pay your bills and enjoy something nice. Good review guys!
@@DasFlashyMan I would say I like wt101 a little better overall than Rebel Yell 100. They are very different tasting bourbons. It's nice to add in some variety with these other bourbons and not break the bank.
@@michaelhobgood2792 Yeah I agree WT101 is a little better. They're my two favorite budget bourbons, though. I use Evan Williams Bonded as my Coke mixer.
Crazy... definitely all good, but I would have picked EW Bonded No.1... one of my favorite for any price. I love both WT 101 and OGD. All are staples on my cart, and better than many bottles I’ve picked up for $50 or more.
It's a toss up for me between EW BIB and WT 101. Both are just so good for the money and can walk into any store any time and see them. Have yet to see early times in my area.
I love your reviews! Last week I replaced EW 1783 as my super-budget bourbon sipper with EW BIB. and since EW BIB is so cheap, I will stop using Black Velvet when mixing. I have about 10 bourbons currently (range from EW to $42 in price) and I like them all, but for the price, (so far) nothing beats Evan BIB. There are more expensive bourbons I really like, but how to do you beat $20 for a handle? I have not tried Early Times BIB yet, but a lot of people like it better than Evan. I will have to buy a bottle and try it.
I've found a local grocery store that somehow manages to get and keep some of the highly desirable stuff on the shelf with no markup. It's kind of a gourmet store, and I might be the only one buying the stuff. They still have ECBP C919 on the shelf, and just put out the A120 today. $56 before tax (which in this state is ridiculous). They also have multiple bottles of Blantons.
Great video. Although, I often wonder what we'd hear if people thought they were testing four different bourbons, and it was really just the same bourbon poured in four cups. I'd like to hear those comments, because I suspect the power of the mind would enter in, and we would end up hearing a lot of distinct comments about each "different" one.
Thanks for the video guys! Great Flight Fight! I am happy that I can actually find 3 out of 4 of these here in 🇨🇦. Hopefully the ET BiB will make it to us here soon!
I initially had a gripe with a couple of your choices for this Venn Diagram flight fight, but I think you can repeat this with an entirely different set of four bourbons. I thought Rebel Yell 100, Old Forester 100, and Jim Beam Bonded could all be included in this lineup. So obviously next week you have to choose those 3 and add a 4th. It is the way.
My 4 go to bourbons I always have around just because the value can’t be beat E.W. BIB ,Wild Turkey 101,Old Forester 100, and Early Times BIB don’t get me I’ll wrong I have other favorites for much more money but these are all a 100+ proof and average about 20 bucks a piece on average great whiskey for the price
Been in my burbon journey for a few months and I'm getting into the groove of taking my time at tasting. The EW bib has an aftertaste of that peanut hull to me. It's a good drink but not like top 3 for me. So far, WT 101 is #1 for me. Haven't tried ET bib but the original one was ok as a beginner but I'm wanting a bit more. So I'm on the hunt...
old forester 100 1.75 = $34.97 at walmart here in arizona. hard to beat for me but loved the video ! actually WT 101 is my favorite.stay safe amiga and amigo.
Early Times BIB has become my favorite go-to casual sipper. Not a bad choice in the lineup, but given an option for just one, I’d go with the ET. But then Turkey. Or EW....best just to grab them all.
Great video. That's a super solid lineup! I haven't had Early Times yet, but those other three are staples in my cabinet. WT 101 in particular is a fave. Cheers guys!
I think I would pick the Early Times BiB first in this lineup. I've taken it to some tastings with very experienced pros and it's impressed. That said, I'm going on vacation tomorrow and packing a handle of Evan Williams BiB.
I just got some EW BOB and was presently surprised, it's better than the last bottle of Rebel 100 I got. I don't think both companies are consistent with their batches.
Another very entertaining, surprising, and informative flight fight. On top of that, thanks for the Math lesson on Venn diagrams and the Sciency stuff about tasting with your nose plugged. Always learning from you guys. Cheers from Canada🇨🇦🥃
My choice is wild Turkey 101 out of these.. and I did this same thing with a couple days ago with friends.. and it was a total blind for everyone and everyone found wild Turkey was first..
I would like to see Johnny Drum 100 proof. I don't know why but I root for underdogs. I dig Willett juice. Love Noah's Mill and the Family reserve Eyes.
I moved from TX to SC and was never able to find OGD bonded. It was always just the 114 and I can confidently say that as soon as I was able to find it, it has become a constant in my rotation. Always have a bottle on hand for company or a solid go-to as a nightcap.
Tim West Yeah it would fit for sure. JB Bonded is about $22 in our area so it would have been the only one over $20 (adjusting the ET down to a 750ml cost) but yeah it could have fit into this flight nicely. We think it’s a great value for what you get.
@@ItsBourbonNight In PA, it and WT101 are (I think, since we can't even get either right now) 24. I did get it a few months back on sale for 17 bucks though. Should have bought a few more bottles... Great Flight though. Cheers!

WT 101 definitely worth a few bucks more than the 81 from college days. It is one of my daily drinkers and mixers. WT Russell's Reserve Single Barrel non chill filtered or Rare Breed when I want take it up a notch.

Interesting, wt101 didn't even make it to the under $30 finals, but ev bib did and did well in it, shows how taste changes day to day. I've had one bottle I thought was really bad one week and then loved it the next week, really made me think. They all sound delicious, I need to see if I can track down a old grand dad bib and early times bib.
Based on my experience (all four of these bottles have been on my shelf) I'd rank them the same as Chad. Wild Turkey 101 is flat out one of the best deals in bourbon and you can get it any where. It gets over looked almost BECAUSE you can get it anywhere. Early Times BIB can be hard to find but if you just did a value comparison, it is a 1b to WT101's 1a for value. Old Grand-Dad and EW BIB leave something to be desired.
I entirely agree with you, though I do think that Evan Williams BIB gets much better when the bottle is half full. And no, I don’t mean to say it gets better as I get wasted, just as it “opens up.”
My favorite bourbon is EW black label, I have bought the bottled in bond EW. It's really good to but usually in a smaller bottle. I'll stick with my EW black label. For the money and quality.
As you said...such a great line up! I felt so stupid, because I just commented on the Patreon the other day that you should do this line up...and obviously, you already had...insert sheepish look here. BTW - OGD, Yeah you know me!

Would love to see Old Forester 100 in the mix! My favorite of the segment at $23.

Evan Williams bottled in bond and not my favorite yuck just kidding is my favorite

Sara, you should be a distiller at a major label. You are a great flavor profiler.
Fun video. Old Grand dad, totally underrated and makes a great, I mean great Old Fashioned. I would have loved to see a Benchmark Bonded on the list.

Haven't had the Early Times, but I'd go for WT in 1st, OGD in 2nd, and EW in 3rd.
