When I heard Belle for the first time I cried and listened to it on repeat for hours. It sparked something in me. I didn’t pursue it right away but it stayed there for years, and eventually it was big enough to lead me to God.
IMO, other than Marvin Gaye, no singer can tell a story with the intensity and emotion of Al Green....been listening to his amazing voice, lyrics, arrangements for 40 yrs...Beyond soulful..personal..."He brought me safe thus far through many, many country bars.." Reverend Al is truly an American treasure..
