- From the Fire Nation to Ba Sing Se, the world mourns the sudden passing of Avatar Korra. Just days ago, an apocalyptic surge of spiritual energy erupted in the heart of Ba Sing Se. The light of the blast was visible for miles, leading analysts to estimate that it was at least ten times the magnitude of the explosion that opened the Republic City Spirit Portal.
Officials have released few details to the public, but dozens of eyewitnesses say the Avatar redirected the energy skyward in a legendary feat of energybending. Because of Avatar Korra, the walls of Ba Sing Se still stand, and millions of innocent lives have been spared. Her sacrifice will never be forgotten.
The future is uncertain, but Korra's spirit lives on. The cycle continues.

Well a polar bear can live up to 20 year and a dog up to 13 and both can be fully grown within two years. so by that logic by finding the medium a polar bear dog can live about 17 years. Korra could have gotten Naga shortly before the story began and everyone looks like about twenty years at most has past. Naga is the avatars animal so I wouldn't put it past her to live that long.
So Naga in this video should be about 25 at most maybe 20 at the least.

What I would like to see is Zaheer helping Genji. Hear me out. Zaheer has always been a big believer in absolute freedom, so he meditates into the Spirit World as to not die a prisoner; but in that time, he came to see just how alone he truly was. With all of his comrades dead and nowhere else to go, he found himself a prisoner once again. Maybe by helping the new Avatar, he can lift at least some of that weight off his shoulders.
Zaheer is likely dead by this point or gone permanently into the Spirit World, which he is intimately connected to. It's established that Genji will meet a new airbender master who like Aang and Jinora got his tatoos early.

I'm pretty sure they earned them years ago. Notice how some of the new Air Benders already have their tattoos 1:05 If they earn them by then, no doubt Meelo and Ikki did.
The old incarnations of the Avatar can be recovered in the Tree of Time.

I don't think you'd be able to talk directley to them, but you would be able to see what they did and said in the past, and try to draw your own wisdom from that.

After seeing this video, I have a lot of questions about the whole "Legend of Genji" comic:
1. Since Korra is dead and Luan of Ba Sing Se is now hailed as the new Avatar, how will Asami, Mako and Bolin react once they find out the true Avatar is Genji?
2. Since the new series will take place in a time period similar to the 60s-70s, will there be new counterculture movements like hippies, biker gangs etc?
3. How will Genji react the moment he is told that he is Korra's reincarnation as the newest Avatar?
4. How will Genji react once he finds out it was partly Korra's fault that the spiritual connection with the former Avatars was severed and how is he going to restore the spiritual connection with the former Avatars?
5. Who could Genji's bending teachers be?
Edit: By the way, I've read about Genji in the project's website and I must say I'm impressed by how they created a new Avatar who doesn't resemble his two predecessors, Korra and Aang. Genji is a real hard worker who puts his family (his little sister and his single mother) first and he is more mature than his age would indicate. He is also somewhat lonely and is not quick to trust somebody.
It also kind of works into his character, as he's an earthbender, and you'd expect an earthbender to kind of be grounded in our world, and they have walls around them when it comes to trusting people

@@samcochran8203 if you read about the Sandbender Tribes in the project's website, you will learn that in Genji's time they had to leave their traditional homes and move to the slums of the nearest cities. Genji and his family were not the exception.
And the worse part is that everybody disregards the Sandbenders' voice, because of the stereotype which describes all Sandbenders as bandits and thieves.

Edit: Also, in the file "Meet the new Team Avatar - the Geng!" you will see that Genji and his family were forced to move to Jinsha and he had to sell his family sand sailer.

February 21st, 2005 when the first episode _"Avatar: The Last Airbender"_ was released. A few months later I was born, and by July 19th, 2008 the last episode ended.
Then when I was seven, I discovered ATLA and it made up a big part of my childhood. In April 2012, the sequel _"The Legend of Korra"_ 's first episode was released, and ended on December 19th, 2014.
And so after that I waited for the third one, and after five years, here I am right now. To all the people, team, who worked altogether to make this possible, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! And bless you all! ❤❤❤

Man I remember seeing your very first concept sketches of Genji on Tumblr so many years ago. I was instantly intrigued. I'm a fellow illustrator (sketch and line artist) and I cannot even believe how much your art has improved in such a short time.
This is a compliment, but during your first sketches the body poses, facial expressions, anatomy, dimension of buildings and clothing wasn't all that polished. You were at your infancy and even that was impressive. Within just a few months, when you started coming up with Nami, I noticed that you drew hands so much better, coloring and shoot I even notice how the folds in the clothes added more depth. (We artists pick up the littlest detail and admire it).
You're amazing and it's been such an honor to watch you grow over the many years.

The thing is, Naga would die as well. Appa died when Aang died because Appa was Aangs spirit animal, Naga was Korras spirit animal. They are connected so they would die at the same time.

I saw this a while ago and I just now realized how naga looks so upset and I am so depressed by that
I ain't sure I can recover from Korra dying. It was clear from the get go that she would be someone that filled a huge place in her friends and family's hearts. Now that she's gone, so much pain likely being experienced.

Avatar Korra has done both bad, and great things for the world. Avatar Aang will be remembered, and so will she. The death of Avatar Korra, has struck many people in the heart. The Avatar has fallen, but I don’t think it has ended yet. The connection with my past lives have been severed, but it’s my duty to get it back. Everything has it’s own cycle, just like the avatar. With every downs, there is always an up, and so the Avatar, was once again, reborn.

edit: Okay, I have soften up a bit. It's still not headcanon for me, and I still think she died very young (39 years old), but what they have released so far is really good. It is possible to like something, and still consider it as fanfiction.

Something ya'll don't realize tho. Every Avatar so far that we've seen, has more or less solved the problem of the previous Avatar that was most regretted. With Aang, it was stopping the Fire Nation, which Roku couldn't do. With Korra, it was bringing back the Air Nomad Nation, which was Aangs biggest regret. Consequently, Korras biggest regret was seemingly loosing the Avatar bond with their previous lives. This might be what Genji is able to fix, somehow.
Maybe somewhere in the Spirit World there's a way to bring back all the memories of the Avatars that came before Korra, and since the Spirit World is now easily accessible through the portals I bet that at least the first book of an ipothetical new animated series will focus on that.

Can you imagine how dislikeable the new Airbenders would be for Aang. Of course he would be happy at first but for Aang his people and his traditions were so important and the new Airbenders just spit on that tradition. They dont even shave their heads. Aang nearly died finding out he had grown hair in season 3. He couldnt stand them looking twice because the only thing that was reborn was the bending and not his nation.

Actually, I think naga is supposed to be dead. It’s said that when Aang died, Appa did too because of their spiritual bond. Every avatar has one with an animal so it would make sense that naga would have died with Korra.

I just realized that the celebration of avatar’s birthday is also a celebration of the past avatar’s anniversary
fun fact, the next avatar is not born the day the previous avatar dies, otherwise it would be a LOT easier to find the new one. they have to look at kids born between the day the avatar died to probably up to 9 months or at least in the year of their death (no confirmation). plus benders tend to be born in certain seasons (spring is for earth).
