- This is an easy method to make Chili Tomato Sauce at home and tastes perfect even without any additional ingredients. Since this contains very less quantity of sugar and no other chemicals, it's undoubtedly healthy.
🍅 It's quite a simple recipe. If you just want tomato sauce, you can skip the red and green chilies, and reduce the amount of chilies if you want it to be less spicier or increase it if you want it more spicy.
Don't believe me, just flip around and look at the ingredients mentioned on your favorite brand of tomato or chili tomato sauce, almost all popular brands are the same, tomato is just 25-28% whereas sugar constitutes the remaining 60-70% and then other chemicals that includes preservatives, artificial tastemakers and colors.
Now try this recipe and find yourself savoring the best chili tomato or tomato sauce ever, it is definitely finger licking good 😊😋
Ingredients:
☘️ 3 large Tomatoes, Chopped
☘️ 1 Green Chili
☘️ 2 Red Chilies (1 is enough for less spice)
☘️ 1 tsp Peppercorns
☘️ 1" piece Cinnamon
☘️ ½ Onion, chopped
☘️ 4-5 Cloves of Garlic
☘️ 1-inch piece of Ginger
☘️ Salt to taste
☘️ 1 tbsp sugar
☘️ 1 tbsp Vinegar
Method:
🍁 Heat a pan over medium heat.
🍁 Add tomatoes, green chilli, peppercorns, onion, garlic, red chillies, andcinnamon.
🍁 Cook until tomatoes are soft and mushy, stirring occasionally.
🍁 Then remove the pan from heat and let the mixture cool down completely.
🍁 Transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
🍁 Now using a strainer, filter the mixture and add it to the pan.
🍁 Cook for another 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
🍁 Add, sugar, salt and vinegar.
🍁 Taste and adjust sugar and spice if needed.
🍁 You can serve hot with your favorite dishes like samosas, pakoda or as a dipping sauce for snacks.
🍁 Once it cools down, you can add it to an airtight container and store it in the fridge for almost 20 days
