I love their version. They give it a more rock attack, although I love the original single recorded by Phil and Gary on his Run For Cover album ('85) which is more pop. The breakdown is gorgeous, Dyer echoing Phil's lament quite remarkably. Archer rips on the solo too which subtly borrows the rhythm parts from Still In Love With You! So glad he's getting the attention he deserves as he is almost ignored by the guitar community for someone of his talent. Check out UFO: High Stakes and Dangerous Men ('91) where his full range and ability can be heard in all its glory!
What an observation. Na. Grand Slam was formed by Phil Lynott, John Sykes, Brian Downey and Mark Stanway post Thin Lizzy split. Sykes left for Whitesnake. Downey fell out due to Phils habits. Stanway had Phil to try Laurence Archer. This concert seems to be a tribute to both Phil Lynott and Gary Moore.
Brilliant and fantastic lead work Laurence

awesome stuff, not an easy task to follow in Gary Moore's stead but a killer job there by Lawrence and the lads :)

Gary wasn't on grand slam

None of them except Archer were on Grandslam. Just an Archer tribute band. Not Grandslam.
..........for God's sake, Gary recorded this track with Phil....also played it live together on many occasions in 85. 🎸
