    I figured out the problem. For anyone else experiencing something similar, go to the preferences at the bottom and go to the animation tab and scroll down to where it says Rigging: Component Tags:. Make sure you uncheck the top option and check the bottom one. Everything should work then.

      I am having the same problem as you. The Edit Membership tool simply doesn't work. I tried following your comment above, I disabled "use component tags for deformation component subsets" and I enabled "add tweak nodes on deformer creation" in Preferences. It didn't work and for some reason I still can't use the Edit Membership tool. Do you mind showing me where you got this information, because I have spent hours trying to figure this problem out. Thanks.
      Update: I solved the problem, I had the default preferences on when I created the clusters. So when I changed my preferences to align with what you said, I was working with clusters that were still using the default prefs. I deleted the clusters and made them again with the new preferences and it allowed me to use the Edit Membership Tool.
      Thanks for commenting because without it I don't know how much more time I would have wasted.

    Hi, how are you, I hope you´re doing well 🙂. First of all thank you so much for theese incredible tutorials, it helps me a lot, but I have a really annoying problem. I don´t understand why when I use the Edit Membership Tool like you explain in 12:14 nothing happens, so I can´t tell to the software I don´t want those lower vertex to be influenced when I move it respective cluster in the left direction, I know the tool is activated cause I have to press the q key to select other thing, is like using a tool without a thing and I followed all step by step so i´m really lost in this part, what should I have to do to fix that problem?. Greetings teacher 🙂👋.

      I informed in the internet forums and learnt that these 2 techniques you teach about edit the influence of lattice points are not functional in Maya 2022, only for older versions. I don't know if there's other way for latest versions.

    So when I click the edit membership tool nothing happens. I can't select anything and remove the influence

    At the polishing section, the icon of a cursor with an "I" letter in it, It doesn't seem to exist on my Maya 2024 workspace. What is it called and how do I bring it up?

    Fantastic tutorials! For some strange reason though my set editor can't detect the clusters. The clusters are working fine and move the mesh but they just dont show up under the paint operations tab.

      You can use the component editor, select the points and go on the voice "Weghit Deformer"🐢🐢🐢 if you are talking about the Set MemberShip Tool

    Do lattice deformers play nice with game engines or is this a film only technique?

    • @sarkamari
      @sarkamari  Год назад +1

      Depends on the game engine. In UE5, its modelling toolset has its own lattice and works quite well

    I parent lattice and cluster to upper jaw, but when it move, they both off position, so was the mesh.
    Why?

    • @elouannchartrain5482
      @elouannchartrain5482 10 месяцев назад

      you have to make sure the cluster are put in relative mode

    Everything is fine until I apply the wrap tool on the eyebrow, it doesn't move according to the ctrl. Does anyone know what's the problem?
