You gotta think about the context of that. If you make your decision solely based on the money, it might not be better in the long run. If he’s a better DB and would have a longer career as a DB, even though he got paid less annually, he’d still be better off financially by simply playing the position he’d succeed at more. Is he getting paid more as a top 5 DB or a top 15 WR?

He’s gonna make close to WR money. He’s likely gonna be played most as a DB coming into the league but the threat of him offensively will drive his price up the longer he’s in the league. Especially if he gets moved to teams that are willing to use him more often offensively. At a certain point, and in the right circumstance (coaching, team, schemes), I believe Trav could end up playing close to 60/40 btw both positions (not playing every snap, of course) and if that happens he’ll end up making WR money anyway.

  • @king626

Yes coach prime sent out an olive branch to Sherman making a butt of himself talking about a true generational talent and making a take on something that he haven’t seen in his lifetime. Coach prime knew Travis would make Sherman bad two days after he made it.😂😂😂 Sharpe you did the same thing by speaking on Lamar Jackson Negotiating his contract with an agent, which was unprecedented at the time and you felt that he should have an agent. Sharpe you was proven wrong by Lamar and his mother for speaking on things that you said was unprecedented. Unprecedented means it’s never been done before, not that it can’t be done. Lastly, only one billionaire in the NFL will have the say on how Travis Hunter is utilized in the NFL. Shannon 100% right Travis is a fluent corner. He’s natural at the position and his instincts are 2nd to none. Travis isn’t a diverse route runner he’s just such an incredible athlete who finds a way to get open vs inferior athletes. There won’t be inferior athletes across from him in the NFL. And the whole money think is getting over exaggerated. Sure as a top wr in the nfl you can make 30-35 mil but he most likely wouldn’t be a top wr he would prbly blend in as an average wr and only make 10-15. But at corner you can make 25-30 which he will most likely be a top nfl cb considering how natural he is at the position.

Chad told Shannon a few weeks back, "Wide receiver is where the money is! If Travis Hunter is forced to choose between WR and DB, he will chose WR!"
Charlie Ward played both basketball and football, he actually won the Heisman Trophy and STILL choose the NBA over the NFL, because of the longer career potential and of course, the MONEY!

The tennis analogy should have been Federer.
Dude hit a backhand against Roddick in the QF 2007 US Open...the spin and the trajectory the the ball took when it went off the racket, the sound even from my TV, God!
That was the most unbelievable shot I ever saw.
The commentator (McEnroe) was left in total AWE of that shot, and he was a former professional Tennis Player.

And Shannon makes a good point about the money. Think about it like this. Be a receiver, get drafted get your money up front. Doesn’t pan out, that’s it. Be a DB don’t get as much money, but make more in the long run because your career is longer because it’s your best position

I agree with Unc about him being a superior corner vs receiver. My only thing is he catches the ball entirely too good to “waste” them playing only a few snaps on offense.
