Following the incident on the Saturday 7th May and social media videos that are circulating involving a member of the public that we were called to as part of our duties.
Upon arriving at the scene after being alerted by members of the public , we found one male clearly in distress and also acting in a criminal nature by allegedly exposing himself, this is obviously an extremely serious situation and as per our training, we became immediately concerned for the males safety and general wellbeing.
We also had the serious nature's of the reports, and began to form a corden around him, not only for the safety of others, but crime scene prevention and most importantly to give medical services a safe space to work if required.
Whilst we appreciate any members of the public wishing to record are perfectly within their right to do so, we also have to think about, not only there safety but the safety of the team, medical personal and also the wellbeing of the person In question who to repeat was clearly in distress and very vulnerable.
At no point did we or enforcement need to restrain the male or use physical intervention techniques.
We asked the members of the public to take some steps backwards and also not to record on this occasion due to the nature of the complaint, also a member of the team were already recording with the use of body cameras as per our policies and procedures, so the incident was logged.
It Is with regret that whilst 99% of the public complied with our request for the safety of themselves and the privacy of the male, a certain individual refused to comply with our reasonable and polite requests on several occasions. Then started to record a very vulnerable situation
We only needed to create a safe space.
It is with further regret that in the high pressure and serious situation, that we used language not benefitting the company ethos.
For which we apologise, but we hope the general public can understand that often as the first teams on scene it can be a very difficult position, especially when the allegations were as serious as they where.
We have spoken to the security industry authority, and numerous clients and no further action has been taken.
We ask for the public to place themselves in the operatives situation, and try to understand, that we are only trying to look after the public in difficult circumstances, we to are part of this community and are only trying to improve it and make it safer for all.
I’m so grateful for this video. We’ll be cancelling our contract with this “mob” without delay. Disgraceful behaviour in a public area.

What a prick, I’ve been in security for 25yrs and never seen anyone like this guy. As private security company they have no rights as to tell you to do anything. Unless they are working within a private venue/shopping centre. They have no rights in public place

Ive been informed they train people to get there SIA license so he was completely aware of his actions, (section 5 public order, no SIA card showing, causing alarm and distress intentionally,

Whatever contract he has to be operating in the public domain does not give him the right to act aggressively, harrass, intimidate, follow, give orders to or swear at the public. This video should be presented to the local coucil authority and show them what kind of bully tactics are being implimented by this band of thugs.

It wasn't a one off, he repeatedly swore over numerous minutes as he harassed the videographer.
In this case the video is clear that there was no aggression on the part of the video creator and he wanted to be left alone.

Being a SIA door supervisor, his conflict management is not up to scratch. Complain to the SIA who is the governing body. The security industry is trying to oust this type of behaviour he should definitely know better. He could loose his license.

If he thinks he was handling a high pressure and serious situation then he's in the wrong job, or badly trained, or a thug trying to act as the victim just like any bully does when someone stands up to them.

So it was fine for them to record, but not fine for someone else to record. That's not how it works mate.

So his maths skills are seriously lacking since from the looks of the number of people wandering around and the number on the benches, it was more like none of the public complied with their request.

Security guards only have authority if the local authority specify a defined area , but its interesting to note a recent questionnaire past around and answered by shoppers has stated they dislike shopping in town centres because of the thuggish behaviour many security guards or so called guards.
A study carried out in I believe Southampton or some south coast town confirmed upto 40% of so called security guards are not licenced

On New Year's Eve, I was filming because it had been ages since I have been awake for it and also because it was one of the first times that people were permitted to go outside their homes for an event such as this. One of the reasons for my filming was to create videos for people who were too afraid to leave their homes. I never got in anyone's face.
The attitude of some of the Security shocked me. Some of them were rude and overly aggressive. All I wanted to do was to show people doing different things and how various people were celebrating. Many Security Guards stated that I was not permitted to film. On the other hand, we stopped to chat with some of the nicer ones.
One of them said that if you go up to someone and you are rude and aggressive, then chances are that you shall not have a great interaction. I ended up contacting that particular pub, by email, praising the security guards. I have looked at some of the Google reviews for some of the other pubs and based upon some of the reviews, the feedback about the security staff was not that favourable.
***As for the term "Keyboard Warrior," perhaps that it is a great thing. It shows that you use the power of the written words as opposed to acting like a thug to communicate wiith people.***

Why exacerbate situations? It's much easier to approach people, with a smile and treat them respectfully, in the same manner you like to be treated.

Hinson Security Services are not registerd with the SIA! Are they operating on behalf of the Local Authority? If so how did they get a contract to do so? Their comment on Facebook about this incident is a pack of lies. It is also badly written indicating a lack of managemt capability. The company is registered at Companies House but does not produce audited accounts, and surprisingly only employs two people who are both shareholders. A company Hinson Security Solutions of the same address was dissolved in January 2020. A previous company with a similar name "Hinson" was dissolved in 2019. Not much "security" about this oufit.
