About Stern trusting the Eldar so easily, as a Ex inquisitor woud say:
"Dealing with the Eldar is a very fickle prospect. The are prone to acting in ways that are counter-current to their own self interest, making you think that they think that they're deceiving you, when in reality, they're being completely honest and counting on the fact that you think that they're lying to you, so that you'll completely discount the truth as the truth."

@@mxviii Depends on when it was written, we had the Outsider c'tan's dyson sphere that the nids made a deliberate move to avoid though I don't think a definite reason was given for them avoiding normal worlds. If that's been added to the fluff more recently then that's viable.
Old logic was that since Necrons weapons were based on ripping away matter and then teleporting away on death which left nothing, every fight against them was both hard and costly for the hive mind. There's also multiple times where Necron tech is shown to be able to shut down warp effects (Cadia's pylons for example) so there's another argument they could calm areas of the warp shutting down nid travel/cutting hive mind communication.
Personally I miss old 'crons because we know too much about them now making them lose the fear of the unknown that used to be their defining characteristic. Sorta 'Cthulhu' vs 'Hello Cthulhu'.

Regarding how easily and immediately Stern had believed Yvraine - I don't think it was too naive of her. Or rather, her naivety has a meaning. She was touched by Faith. She is imbued with Faith. Her soul is. The author didn't allude to it, but I feel like it's now a part of her nature. She only needs to believe, and even a possibly false reassurance would do. (Or maybe she knew it to be true the moment she heard it, who knows)
And from Yvraine's point of view... I'm about to go into headcanon territory now, but hear me out:
    * Primarchs were created with the help of Chaos Gods. We never got a profound and detailed explanations of their nature, but we can safely say that ALL of them have extremely potent souls, that burn with truly posthuman intensity. That said, none of them (and that includes Corax, whose return had me fangirl for a good hour or so) had actualized themselves in Emperor's image. Stern is also quite different from Celestine, who is a High Imperial Demon. Celestine reassembles her soul, her Self every time she awakes in the Immaterium. Stern was imbued with power of multiple souls. Sounds familiar?.. Yes, I argue that in her Yvraine sees an Emperor-like construct. In essence, to Yvraine it is proof of humans having the ability to weave gods, as the Eldar could. A confirmation that humans, the mon'keigh, might be the ones destined to inherit the Galaxy. An in Stern's eyes she sees blazing god stuff. As an Emissary of a God that has yet to rise, she would have some complicated thoughts on it, methinks. Stern is indeed dangerous. And necessary.
That's how I see it, and I think it's beautiful.
*And if Ordo Hereticus has problems with my opinion, they'll have to break into my habcell and push my head into the keybxkgzjzfjzfjzfkxmgcxhlxgz*

I give it one or two more editions of the Silent King trying to prep the Necrons for the Tyranid invasion and acquire alliances against it before we see another Hive Fleet. If anything, it would be suitably grimdark for Stern, the Sisters, and their coalitions to have smashed apart his plans at great cost to both sides just before the new Hive Fleet hits. He sought a ceasefire with Dante, but I think even he wouldn't have expected the damage the Imperium and Stern did to the Pariah Nexus and his Illuminor's experimental work there, which could have proved to be the ultimate tool for deflecting and weakening the Tyranid threat.
Would love to see more of Stern in the lore, she's as great an asset as the Imperium has had since the Primarchs all still walked, and although Celestine is definitely a preferred sword of the Emperor in Realspace, she's far more bound to the Warp than Stern and far less able to lead and build for that. The Imperium needs leaders and heroes now, as Guilliman told Dante, and Stern could definitely be one of them if the Inquisition would sort itself out and take 10 seconds to actually look at her track record rather than just her power.

Even though I shouldn't I love Ephreal Stern. In my opinion she is still a loyalist, its the inquisition who messed up, heck it wasn't even most of the inquisition, it was the one willing to MURDER other loyalist and even other members of the INQUISTION itself at a chance at getting a new weapon. By chance I mean no real chance, but I doubted that mattered to him, that this whole affair burned the Inquisition was their own fault, and should an outside group of inquisitors investigate it things might not turn out well for some members of the Ordo Malious.

The Necrons - then Stern and the Eldar need to find the only primarch that can match the military might of this strategic threat. The Lion and the first legion.
If the Eldar can awaken him, then he will gather all the unforgivinen chapters to legion strength and take the fight to them. There is your war in heaven.
And what a fight it would be. Let alone the buildup - primaris, two brothers at odds, the state of the imperium, and the Eldar- then the fight begins.

She would without a doubt listen and obey if he chose to communicate with her, but I think it would always be a relationship based on voluntary effort rather thna BIg E, having some kind of spiritual veto right. She seems like her own thing, entirely devouted to the emperor and empire, but a force very different from most. Edit: and remember one World Engine fought a whole Sector Fleet so easily a 1000 ships and parts of 15 Chapters of Astartes and it took a entire Chapter to sacrifice themselves to beat a single ship. Stern was one of my favorite characters from the early days of 40K, but I don't think the novel did her justice. Her personality was standard-issue "I HAVE FAITH IN THE EMPEROR!!!" boilerplate that we see all too often from Sisters in Warhammer fiction. Faith isn't a personality, it's a facet of personality. (It's also not a battery, which the author seems to think.) In this book Stern could pretty much be replaced with Celestine and little would have to be changed aside from the Eldar stuff. Basically that's what she is... Celestine with worse PR. Her original goals and motivations from the comics were largely forgotten in favor of moving her into current lore.
Don't get me wrong, I didn't hate "Heretic Saint." It was just standard-issue 40K fiction, complete with a moustache-twirling villain. It was nice seeing a 40K hero truly cutting loose and putting the forces of Chaos on the back foot. I just wanted more than we got, and now that the whole Pariah Nexus thing has faded into the background (aside from animation) we're not likely to see much of her again.
(Oh, and her 10th edition profile sucks. This is a woman who blasts apart tanks and takes on greater daemons in hand-to-hand combat. She doesn't even have the "Fly" keyword. She should have a lot more kick more kick on the tabletop.)

Gathering Storm II: Fall of Biel-Tan
      I think
Yvraine felt her hatred flare hot, her gyrinx growling at her side. There was their leader, commanding the throng from his perch on a disc of fiery metal. Casting aside her finery, she shot towards him like a living missile, her companions close on her heels. Calmly putting his staff aside, the champion of Tzeentch cupped his hands as if trapping a winged insect, and hurled a handful of nothingness upwards with a roar.
Along with the Visarch and the Yncarne, Yvraine suddenly found herself adrift - not within the webway, but without. They were stranded in a near-silent limbo, trapped on the top of the psychocrystal walls. The sounds of battle were muffled beneath them, and the cool void sucked in its breath at their backs. Yvraine did not look around, for she felt something there, in the darkness. A voice in her mind said should she do so, she would behold the Changer of the Ways himself, and learn the meaning of madness. That voice was not Eldar, but human; it belonged not to a salvaged soul, but to the Arch-Sorcerer below. Another joined it; that of Elierrogh the Sage, one of the spirit passengers within her. She had studied this one at length.
A flash of insight struck Yvraine. ‘Ahzek Ahriman!’ she shouted, ‘I have that which you seek. I can restore your brethren!’
A stone’s throw away, the Visarch cut at the webway’s exterior with the Sword of Silent Screams, but he could not scratch it. The Yncarne hissed in pain to her flank, trailers of purple mist unwinding from its body as it was dissolved by the aether behind.
‘And why should I believe that?’ came the sorcerous voice in Yvraine’s head. ‘You have no power here, in my new domain.’ She felt white heat as something loomed behind, the fell gaze of godly eyes burning down upon her with terrible, inhuman focus.
‘Open your eyes!’ she cried, secretly praying to Ynnead that her desperate gambit would work. She pressed her hands upon the psychocrystal of the webway’s exterior, focused on the armoured Legionaries within, and reversed the cycles of their existence.
A dozen of the Thousand Sons Rubric Marines, previously levelling firepower into the Reborn with the emotionless efficiency of automatons, staggered backwards as if struck. They looked at one another, clutched their hearts, and fell back, rallying around Ahriman before taking up the defensive stances of the Emperor’s Legiones Astartes. Yvraine could just make out their words as they frantically sought to make sense of their situation.
      ‘Ahzek? Is that you, brother?’
‘Where are the Athenaeans? These are Eldar we face this day!’
‘In the name of Magnus, what is going on?’
Ahriman shook his head as if stunned, his wide shoulders shaking uncontrollably with mirth, grief, or a mixture of the two. He brought his cupped hands together once more and yanked Ynnead’s luminaries downward with a shout of pure exultation.
A lurch of the stomach, and Yvraine suddenly found herself in the swirling tide of battle once more, the Visarch and the Yncarne quickly taking up positions behind her.
‘Do it,’ she said to her companions, siphoning the rich reservoir of Eldar life force that flooded the tunnels into a single burst of invigorating energy. In a flash, the Iyandeni giant Soulseeker was there, trailing white flame as his wraithblade carved a chasm through the crystal of the webway’s superstructure with an ear-splitting scream. Stepping to the edge of the fissure, the Yncarne opened its maw impossibly wide. It inhaled so mightily the resurrected Thousand Sons were drawn towards it, stumbling over the edge of the chasm to fall away into the void beneath. Ahriman screamed in denial, riding his disc after them on a trail of fire.
‘The Whispering God gives new life,’ said Yvraine as her Reborn surged forward around her for the kill, ‘just as he takes life away.’
