Suzaku: "i'm a mech bird with high tech weaponry and a bunch of awesome abilities so what's your order?" Sunraku: "you see those clouds? make it dissappear" Suzaku: "...am i joke to you?"
The Devs really wanted to make these unique monsters practically unbeatable. An AI program beast boss that can understand player speech makes on the fly planning almost impossible.
Lycagon hasn't howled yet. Also would be interesting if Lycagon has different attack patterns based upon where you find her. Psyger 0 has to use her attacks three more times each for ultimate. Very cool episode.
True but knowing that she basically is a self-learning AI though I bet you she is holding back her Ultimate which could possibly be that Howling Move she did to Sunraku in their first round.
Whats really scary about Lycagon is the fact she held back quite a bit during fight with animalia, bcs somehow she knew that Sunraku with Rei-chi are bigger threats than them and wanted to confuse them... Whats more she learned that at some point Rei will land a hit and (this is just my speculation) she is doing so to get that specific Ultimate combo hit... At least I suspect this, bcs Rei mentioned that there never was even a chance for trying that and with how much inteligence Lycagon posesses i wouldnt be suprised to learn that she fought specifically in a way that its impossible to execute that hit... which would also imply that hit if lands it trully cound defeat her... However I still dont think she could be trully defeated here. But I noticed another thing... Sunraku now fights in a similar way as Lycagon I mean both are using some way of jumping in and out of special subspace both have a underling doing simple commands (not so simple in Sunraku case) and also for some reason it looks like both are enjoying this fight. And another thing... Weathermon could only be challenged in hidden area and on special time when hidden area inside hidden area can be open. Which makes makes me think that to trully challenge Lycagon would mean also to enter hidden area. But now I cant wait untill this fight is over... I still think it would be draw or a victory for Sunraku team, BUT it wouldnt be trully Lycagons defeat.
While Sunraku seems to think so, I find more likely that she was holding back against Animalia because... well, Animalia and because anyone Animalia would potentially share their intel.
I still find it odd that Setsuna referred to Lycagon as "Sooty" like it was just some cute pet in her eyes or something. Getting to see the silhouettes of the collosi was also really dope
Because I bet you that the Seven Colossi were all just that: regular people/animals. I bet you that the Seven were among the leading team of people of the then-pioneering "Divinity Colony" (as I call them personally). "Sooty" and her owner were among those people much like how Setsuna and Wezaemon were among them too. I have a theory on the hows and whys but what you need to know from me for now is that I am under the firm belief of Lycagon being just that: someone's black wolf-dog pet and a cute one at that (hence the Sooty moniker lol). Lycagon was probably like Ranga except she was "reprogrammed" to be what she is now.
@@AHBrandonReviews But that is just Inventoria tho. It doesn't kickout the player if they stay their for long. It doubles as a scapegoat room that has no drawbacks and yes, It's THAT broken. So, since I don’t speak Japanese, this took me way too long. But I’m convinced that Akitsuakane’s player is the same as Dragonfly’s player; the new BERP player from season 1. There’s stuff to be said about how Akitsuakane is reacting to Sunraku, and both characters having a facial scar on the right side. But the most obvious thing that a Japanese speaker would’ve figured out months ago is this: “Akitsuakane” means “Dark-Red Dragonfly”, lol. It’s definitely the same player.
I think the time discrepancy you're seeing is at least partially between the time it takes for Sunraku's thoughts to be articulated to the audience, and the time it would actually take him to think them - much like a few episodes ago, when he solos the junkyard boss in under a minute during a sequence that takes a few minutes to play out. Basically, it's an artifact of converting a manga to an anime. In the manga we can understand that the train of thought being articulated across several panels is actually all taking place in fractions of a second, as it would if you were thinking something through in a time-sensitive situation. But in the anime we have to actually hear all those thoughts articulated in turn, which takes a lot longer. There are a couple of ways to play that out in an anime, and the one they've chosen does create these oddities. It's happened before in the series, it just hasn't been this obvious.
After Wethermon was defeated the programmer complained that the higher ups made her weaken him, this might be another weakness she was forced to program in
Holy crap I love this boss! I don't care if the rest being cooler than her but my favorite is definitely lycagon! The fact she's smart and understands player speech and uses that to it's advantage, then it just in general coming up with ways to combat it's opponent like when Rei-shi needed to get off her attack, lycagon figured it out and waited to counter. Then you have the use of the robot, smart and simple, wicked design too. Plus it seems to have a personality too, so that'll be interesting to see in the future. Lastly it was cool to see my guess on the team up between the 2 and the new girl but who would've expected her to know sunraku..... once again I think poor Rei-shi might have some competition again.
Love how when they figure out ms.wolf understands human speech she drops the act and has a shit eating grin for most of the fight. Then effects on her body obscure it in the anime, but in the manga her silly smirk is just funny to me.
Best thing about this episode was the music at the 18:30 minute mark - a tune that sounds like 'Welcome to the Jungle' intro. just different enough to not get sued, but just close enough to get the blood pumping....
There was a mistake in this episode, when sunraku was wielding the legendary weapons he was without the stag helmet. which he couldnt equip those weapons with otherwise.
6:10 a reminder here since this season discussed this but u cant beat a unique monster without the extra unique quest u get from it like weathermon, since sanraku only got the scar but not the quest, the quest he got is related to the vorpal bunny not the wolf it will most likely to retreat from the logic or just say screw it and kill both of them
@AHBrandonReviews currently 2 are confirmed to be random encounter till sf zoo found out how it works with the wolf rest were either confirm or not to be in same location sry for being vague here but I read the manga so I have to bring the previous episodes like the meeting episode to show that what sanraku said in the meeting is correct so far with weathermon
@@mtscsealer I think you're good man. Thanks for clarifying without the spoils and good job on the reminder. Yeah, that meeting may have been short but important stuff were revealed and implied there.
this would have been one of those so-called "disrespectful" cliffhangers... if cour 2 wasn't beginning next week (or the following). Honestly, watching Lycagon and Sunraku one-up each other has been the most fun part of this fight, with Psyger-0 watching on in such jaw-dropped amazement she's forgetting to do her part in the fight. And I'm going to be really sad if she doesn't finally reveal herself and confess if they do finish off this fight.
just imagine being like lets regroup, tanks push forward so our supporters can get back on their legs, and that wolf just skips the tank to finish the party up
The girl at the end might be the same person when Sanraku was training for the Wethermon fight, before going to fight the last boss a new player was in the game thing that its rare. If Lycagon doesn't have a second or third phase like Wethermon, she might die, but Sanraku haven't use his twin moonblade.
Yeah, I was thinking that. I’m guessing at the moment that she’s the same player who was Dragonfly in BERP. In fact, looking at Dragonfly again, that character had face scars on the right side of the face, kinda like Akitsuakane’s (presumably) curse mark from Siegwurm.
I’m convinced that Lycagon was a pet to one of the ancient scientists and that is why it knows human speech. Just as how Weathermon was an ancient undead being powered by ancient technology, I think that each of the 7 colossi is somehow connected to the past of the world with each unique scenario being a way to investigate and solve the world mystery of what happened to the previous frontiers.
It was so great to finally see one of weathermons machines. But were still only on case one of lycangon. At least emul, her brother and the other girl are coming.
Notice how weathermon gave a skill called sky clear and to beat Lycagon you need to be able to clear the skies? The devs/author intended for weathermon to be a floodgate to lycagon.
keep in mind this is able to be tackled in any order. it's a game with thousands of mechanics so whether a player beats wethermon or not doesn't mean they can't beat this one. that's why it's well designed like something like Breath of the Wild which can be tackled in any order
good theory but in manga devs said that waethermon was supposed to be hardest boss to beat, mostly cause of level drain and instakill moves, also he would be lot stronger he fused with his horse, which they prevented it
@@psy-crowczmates4583 He was thought to be somewhere middle to latter end of the pack to be defeated. It doesn't mean you can't Lycagon without the skill but it would be a strong counter.

He's actually away for at least a minute or two given him refueling mana and actually standing around thinking. The only logical explanation is psyger 0 doesn't notice because she is busy fighting for her life while he is gone
@@AHBrandonReviews Maybe, but I think it's a mistake to take a character's thinking time, or even the exact thoughts, as literal in shows. Thoughts are being carefully conveyed to us so we can understand a narrative, but actual thoughts don't really work that way. Unless a literal timer is on screen, whatever makes the most sense narratively is probably how long it took (so long as we're not on Namek).
Damn, Lycagon being able to understand players' dialogue is crazy! I absolutely loved how Sunraku and Psyger-0 fight together against her! Suzaku' disappointment on his 1st mission is understandable, just make the clouds disappear 😂 Akane, Emul and Sicrou will most likely joining the fight as well 👀
I can only think of 2 outcomes of battle one is sanraku will defeat and get rid of curse , another option is he will get permanent curse or he will get new curse 😅
I'm really curious what enemy Psyger-0 originally used her ultimate technique against. What enemy, outside of a Colossus, was strong enough to take 5 Apocalypse and 5 Catastrophe attacks?
Since it is a game, I'm thinking it just says what the conditions are to unleash the ultimate technique. As for practicing it, maybe on a practice dummy? In most games those are made to take a lot of damage.
Also, no time lag. I don't think so, at least. Rei had to hold Lycagon off for a bit while Sunraku used Inventoria. It was likely only for a few seconds, since we all know anime and manga like to extend their timeframes. Just think of Frieza 🤣😂 Also, the Non-Standard Specialized Armor is Adebane. I forgot that one.
What if Luacon has a werewolf form that becomes humanoid when his health is depleted at a certain threshold? That would be a fun twist Also Rei earned everything this episode has me so hyped and hope we can see her smile for fighting alongside Sunrako and his main enemy
that BG music sounded a lot like welcome to the jungle, not quite, but close when they were fighting lycagon. weathermons legacy did change the game. that ending has me curious as to who that other player really is. keep dragging out these fights please, i need more.
I think they are fighting a shadow clone. From the last couple of times we have seen it lycon can control all of darkness, with the main requirement being that there is little to no light. Noting that a lot of the unique skill sets are shown to happen when the moon is covered. The first time we saw lycan do that they teleported or what looked like it in the first fight. The second time to escape the scenario the like and made a darkness or shadow clone. Showing that level versatility with no light so I think it's going to come down to phase one for the fight, you have to beat the shadow clone, But i could be wrong
Didn't feel like making an edit but I still think they will end up winning this fight but a clone would be the perfect way to show sunraku's growth compared to the first time they fought without saying that they beat the entire encounter on the second try
When they beat weatherman and we got the devs talking to each other, saying something along the lines of him being the 4th expected beaten legend monster whatever they're called, all I'm wondering is where does dog bro fit on that list. Also, merry new year anime man
Lycagon will pull an UNO reverse. Because Sunraku is not the only one who has recognition of the 7 Colossals here. She will be ganked by playerS recognized by herself and other Colossal in this fight. It goes to show, the Colossals can be beaten, just not in the traditional well-organized large guilds, but a few exceptional players teaming up. They will succeed and fail here, but it proves the possibility of winning against them. Hell, Sunraku already proved that the Colossals can be beaten in the last season.
I believe Psyger-0 needs to use EACH attack 5 times for a total of 10. Pretty sure is not a combination of both that equals to 5. Also, the bird robot was gonna tell Sunraku about it's attacks which I'm pretty sure there's probably one on there that would've made this fight much easier for him. But somce Sunraku interrupted him from explaining, he's not gonna find out till later on. Maybe that's why the bird took that pause after Sunraku gave it the orders to clear the sky. Which, sure is a good idea, but it also seems like a waste of such a cool robot that could probably do A LOT more than just fly around clearing a few clouds
Sunraku and Psyger 0 teamwork seems to be going well, but for them to come to the conclusion that Lycagon can fully understand what they're saying is crazy.
Are you talking about Alien : isolation or the new VR Alien game? We are getting really close to having full dive VR, from treadmill setups to haptic gloves, I think if they can get neural link tech into VR with out having to have that surgery it could be the closest we get in a short time.
If Sunraku does manage to beat lycagon his party will be pissed at him. But if he does beat him the curse marks could be altered to give a new boost while still preventing him equiping armour. The wolf could also be curse and releaseing it by beating it will give a new curse/blessing.
I think they might fight it until dawn. The wolf is the creature of darkness, so in my eyes, it might make sense to have it retreat for now. We also still have to meet up with those two other characters. I don't think we beat lycagon this time, but I also think we don't lose.
Man this great episode. Suranku finally using some of the itemse from inventoria though I bet Suzuku wanted to be in battle he still got used in clever way. Dispersing those clouds will remove one hassle. But I bet the lycagon also has pahse 2 or 3 that will really test Surankus abilaties
I'm gonna think that this akitsu akane is the same girl in the first part of episode 14 also I'd like to point out how sunraku didn't expect Lycaon to move through the shadows when in the first fight she teleported behind him
I'd be surprised if they managed to win, but I'm guessing they're going to lose. Still, it'll be a lot closer for Sunraku than the first fight! Lycagon isn't just some extremely powerful beast, she's got intellect and perfectly understands what players are saying. Rei said she fought Lycagon four times and not once was able to land her ultimate; at this point, Lycagon had to have memorized the prerequisites for the ultimate attack and especially how Apocalypse and Catastrophe leave Rei open. That's why she was able to land a counterattack at the end. The major surprises for Lycagon are Sunraku's growth and everything that came with it. Suzaku is another surprise, so I'm wondering if she'll have a way to deal with that or if he'll be a persistent element in the fight. Still, Lycagon's been holding back and probably has other aces up her sleeve. Both Sunraku and Lycagon are learning a lot about each other in this fight, so round three's bound to be an epic finale for them; and if Sunraku does lose this, I wonder how it'll affect his curse marks.
that's what makes it confusing since she doesn't know about inventoria so him disappearing should be confusing unless it feels instantaneous to her unless it's so chaotic she didn't realize cause she was fighting for her life
@@AHBrandonReviews I just took this as the usual anime flexibility with time especially when explaining stuff to the viewer. We've seen several countdowns in the show that don't correspond with actual time. But I do wonder what Psy-0 thinks is going on in those moments.

Just think of Frieza 🤣😂
Also, the Non-Standard Specialized Armor is Adebane. I forgot that one.
Im totally expecting the tech bird to have some crazy attacks. And it would have made the fight easy, and they dont find out till later about this.
Hell use that in later part of the fight dont worry just enjoy the next episode or the last 2 since i think the animator will add more fight scenes
Sunraku will use it. Remember, he's alwas had Ace card anytime.
What if Luacon has a werewolf form that becomes humanoid when his health is depleted at a certain threshold?
That would be a fun twist
Also Rei earned everything this episode has me so hyped and hope we can see her smile for fighting alongside Sunrako and his main enemy
What a good theory, yes its enjoyable seeing player who isnt OP but reliable and relatable!!!
They are so good together
that BG music sounded a lot like welcome to the jungle, not quite, but close when they were fighting lycagon. weathermons legacy did change the game. that ending has me curious as to who that other player really is. keep dragging out these fights please, i need more.
Big big key for victory oh my God THE ARGO will just focus on REI in the next episode because lycagon figures what she's trying to pull
That is why sunraku is a GOAT putting his bird to clear the sky so rei can pull of all the recruirements for her ultimate
If Lycagon can make clones, what makes you think they were ever fighting the real one?
Remember, Sunraku asked Emul to stick with the new player
I don't think they gonna win, maybe a draw and a retreat one way or the other
"Armageddon" is coming
I know that, I was saying I was pretty sure she has done 5 of each including the time she wasn't on screen
I was talking about the non vr one if you have a mic on it picks up on your voice and tracks you via sounds
the battle ends at Daylight
If Sunraku does manage to beat lycagon his party will be pissed at him. But if he does beat him the curse marks could be altered to give a new boost while still preventing him equiping armour. The wolf could also be curse and releaseing it by beating it will give a new curse/blessing.
Wethermon seemed to follow a pattern of moves like an AI but Lycargon seems way too smart for an AI.
I think they might fight it until dawn. The wolf is the creature of darkness, so in my eyes, it might make sense to have it retreat for now. We also still have to meet up with those two other characters. I don't think we beat lycagon this time, but I also think we don't lose.
My thought is, if it's intelligent, can it do magic?
Man this great episode. Suranku finally using some of the itemse from inventoria though I bet Suzuku wanted to be in battle he still got used in clever way. Dispersing those clouds will remove one hassle. But I bet the lycagon also has pahse 2 or 3 that will really test Surankus abilaties
I'm gonna think that this akitsu akane is the same girl in the first part of episode 14
also I'd like to point out how sunraku didn't expect Lycaon to move through the shadows when in the first fight she teleported behind him
I'd be surprised if they managed to win, but I'm guessing they're going to lose.
This episode was 🔥🔥🔥 my only problem is this episode felt so short when the action is peak. That cliffhanger though it tanked the Apocalypse 😮
I'm 60/40 on them winning. If they don't die next week they win.
could it be since the game is a headgear, time passes faster anyway and the game can slow down or fasten the time for all players respectively?
I don't think there is a time lag. We saw the second time around that with all the time he was taking in Inventoria, Psyker was still fighting.
that's what makes it confusing since she doesn't know about inventoria so him disappearing should be confusing unless it feels instantaneous to her unless it's so chaotic she didn't realize cause she was fighting for her life
@@AHBrandonReviews I just took this as the usual anime flexibility with time especially when explaining stuff to the viewer. We've seen several countdowns in the show that don't correspond with actual time. But I do wonder what Psy-0 thinks is going on in those moments.
So it is a spoiler for way later fight so hopefully I dont mess up the extend comment thing
about the inteligence of unique monsters
.
.
.
it is honestly insane how Ctarnid (or however you write his name) to survive canceled the Armagedon from Psyger-0 just so he doesnt get wiped out by it, that was a totally desprate move to take on just a bit of that atack to cancel it out
Amazing inteligance to be honest
also I can wait for my favorite model in the game tournament
Alien Isolation is such a great game
I think lycagon is probably not that strong, the lady from the weatherman fight basically called him a pet
he can choose which robot to use ?
Yes
He could’ve used clear sky or am I wrong here?
Cant Sanroku use sky clear or clear sky conquest?? That helmet he's using wasn't his reward
Im worry this new female character will hurt rei feeling, and i need her to win, hehe
