In Mouldwood depths, you were supposed to grab a light ability that deals damage to enemies and prevents the darkness from killing you. That way you can get past the dark phase in the Mora fight. I’ve never seen someone miss the ability lol, just keep poking around until you find it

Unpopular opinion: I LOVED MOULDWOOD DEPTHS. It was such a clever game design. I don't think there was an area I really hated. I wish I could wipe my memory and play this again.
In the deepest-like area, there is a tree which will be incredibly helpful for the spider fight, especially the dark area

"i'm doing 0 damage to the spider how can i win " said quinbobin using the bow that deal no damage, dude, the sword has a lot more combo, and based in what i played i could kill monsters with 2 hits of the sword, while using the bow i needed more hits ( and it consumes energy)

Oh great. Quin proceeds to skip a major part of Moldwood Depths by realizing that Ori's arrows create light. That's actually awesome. I had no idea one could sequence break the area like that

There's an ability that works basically like a lantern. You should have gotten it on the way to Mora (the big spider). Also, you can change you abilities mid-fight. You also need to get better at deflecting projectiles back at the boss to damage them. That will be a thing later.

How did you even get to the spider without getting the light. Real speed running strats here.
You can upgrade with the blue crystal lady on the left of the town area, and buy new weapons and water breathing from the monkey dude on the right. You already have the hammer and sword though so you should be g2g. Maybe strike though.
I thought the same thing about dropping the rock on baur's head, I was like wtf.
The only real damage upgrades are from some special trees, you already got one last episode

You can’t upgrade weapons but upgrade your charms by going to the charm seller.
I’ve been stuck in my room doing homework all day for three days straight now and I just want to play this game so badly. I finally got it this past weekend and I’m literally about to get to the spider boss.

I highly suggest for all fighting, get these shards:
Splinter (fully upgraded)
Rapid fire
Finesse (fully upgraded)
Reckless (fully upgraded, be careful)
Now attack up close with the spirit arc and you can annihilate any boss in seconds, there are mire you can add these are just the minimum for what i like to call “Ori and the heavy assault rifle”
You skipped a ability that would make the spider area so easy (Spirit Flash; Immunity to the dark)

I don’t think you can upgrade weapons, the closed thing is two spirit shards, one that increases damage and one that increases defense, there’s also a ton of health and energy upgrades you can find

I loved the entire game minus the darkness section, The game does a good job with giving you cool movement abilities in the important plot areas with the exception of the cave where they give you an ability that is only useful in the darkness combined with the entire section being very slow because you have to wait for lights and such. Seems like an odd choice from a game design perspective.

Im so happy you have the machine gun build, another way to get bosses down pretty well is the sword and upgraded spear (you buy it from your monkey friend) combo. The upgraded spear auto homes on enemies and explodes on hit, and the sword does accurate and quick damage and can quickly break energy crystals, which lets you fire more spears. It's fucking sick damage.
If you talk with Opher (the monkey) in the Wellspring Glades, he can help you upgrade some abilities, and if you talk with Twillen (the one with the cristals/shards in the back?), also where the mokis are, he can upgrade some of the shards.
Also there is a Spirit Tree in the spider zone that will help a lot in the fight with Mora. And you can also change abilities and shards in mid-fight if you need to change them.

If you want more damage see below for shards to get along with a location that wont spoil the hunt:
these can be upgraded at twillen's shop if they have multiple options
Reckless: Increases damage dealt and taken by (15/25/35)% Found in inkwater marsh
Finesse: (10/20)% chance to deal 50% bonus damage Found in twillens shop
resilience: Take (10/20/25/30)% less damage Found in inkwater marsh
Thorn: Deal (25/50)% of melee damage taken back to enemies Found in the wellspring

Oh boy! Mora the Spider is my favorite track in the whole OST!
The aforementioned leveling can be done four different ways:
1) Collecting life and energy cells and spirit shards from throughout za warudo.
2) Upgrade shards with Twillen the salesman in the left half of the village.
3) Get weapon upgrades from Opher the monkey in the right half of the village.
4) You can get another strength upgrade tree by doing a small side-quest with the NPCs Kii (found just left of the first Silent Woods spirit well) and Tuley (found just above the right-hand village entrance).

You have to get the ability tree in Mouldwood to beat Mora, iirc. Edit: Well, you don’t have to, but it’s an absolute pain otherwise.

Use sword and bow or spear against Mora. Hammer deals lots of damage but it's hard to stay close to her. Plus equip charms that'll make the fight easier, there is for example one that allows you to deflect bullets by hitting them with sword. I would highly recommend you searching for life and energy cells you can access now. Lupo sells maps that show them but I don't know if you can access his house

You were supposed to find an ability that gives you an aura that illuminates your surroundings and slowly deal damage to enemies within its vicinity before fighting Mora. You weren’t supposed to make it to the boss without it but you discovered you can use the bow, it does let you pass but the boss will be extremely difficult without that ability. Go find it next time man it will make everything easier, also I think by upgrades people meant you should backtrack a lot and look for energy/health upgrades. This was a fun episode though!
You missed the ability that turns you into a light bulb in Mouldwood Depths bottom right. Thought I should let you know that. You made it SOOO much harder for yourself
Man, you're killing me with these uploads! I want to play both Ori and the blind forest and the will of the wisps before watching this but you are not making it easy! Imma leave a like and comment to help you with the algorithm and a promise that I'll be back when I'm done with the games to watch you play this and somehow make it enjoyable 100% of the time as per usual.
I don't know if you've played it already yet but if you haven't then I recommend checking out the original Ori (the Blind Forest) since you like the escape segments and that game focuses more on those while will of the wisps focuses more on combat
I feel like I need a neck brace while watching these things. Quin's relationship with the game gives me whiplash.
