I just watched the hickok45 video with the malfunction and you can clearly see the cylinder not turn multiple times in a row with full release of the trigger in single action.
@@dontworrybout2664 He didn't say the cylinder turns on release. What he said was he saw a full removal of the finger from the trigger after a single action firing attempt. And the cylinder did not rotate on the next attempt. Colt said they had sideplate problems. they seem to have fixed it. Mine was bought in June '21, and has been perfect from day one. This 2020 Python has replaced my S&W M28 as my fav 357 Mag DA.

One even addressed yankee specifically on the short stroking the trigger topic and proved it wrong. He did prove that short stroking the trigger on new Colts only locks up the trigger and cylinder. He even has a clip from shot show of a demo gun failing in the same way.
This is what happens when a bored adult male, sits around the house all day, just looking for a reason to get upset. Take a deep breath, and go take a bubble bath. 🤣🤣
What motive would Hickok have in trying to portray the new Python as having issues? Why would Colt be diving into this so deeply if there were no real issues?
That would depend on his corporate sponsors and interests. As for why Colt would look into it, it is a new firearm and they are doing due diligence to ensure there are no safety issues.
Roushlamn thats highly presumptuous that a figure in the firearm community would risk his reputation and livelihood for the sole purpose of defaming Colt and their product. As for your second point, if this was an isolated incident that is specific to Hickok and a study sample of one, they wouldn’t go so far in depth into an investigation. Think of car manufacturers who know they have issues, but don’t want to bring out a recall since it doesn’t affect enough people. Oftentimes, they wait until they’re legally obligated to bring out that recall, so long as it’s not a safety related issue.
dknollRX7 Firstly, you asked for a possible motive. Those are very good motives. Money is always a good motive. And there are numerous possible scenarios for this. I am not saying it is the case, but you asked for a possible reason. Secondly, don’t compare the gun industry to the automobile industry. The repercussions of having a faulty issue in a car is an investigation into the root cause and then assigning blame to the company that issued that part. For firearms, it is always the gun company. There is no other choice but to try to react quickly to mitigate possible lawsuits. I get that you may not like the idea of him being dishonest but you shouldn’t dismiss the potential just because you like the man, nor condemn him just because you dislike him.
Roushlamn, I understand the confusion. I was asking for plausible reasons as to why he would risk his name and livelihood to slander Colt and their product. I figured that implication would be self-evident. I wasn’t asking what off the wall reason he could have without any proof of wrongdoing. You could claim he got paid. You could claim the mafia was in on it. You could say Russia was behind the whole thing; we know that’s been an ongoing narrative for years now. My point is that Yankee has accused him of maliciously spreading lies in order to negatively affect Colt and their business. My point of contention is that if you’re going to make such a bold claim, there ought to be some sliver of evidence to back your claim and some motive behind it. I couldn’t care less about the drama that he tries to create and I’m neither a fanboy of Hickok nor Yankee; I just call bullshit when I see it. Yankee has been acting his usual childish and immature self with these videos. As far as my comparison between the gun and automotive industry- they’re obviously two different business models with their own issues, respectively. My point was that when a car manufacturer sees they have a potential issue with a sample size of ONE, they don’t shut down production and do a completely thorough investigation. Sure, they look into it and try to determine the root cause, but they don’t go to extreme lengths until they notice there is a more recurring problem and they don’t address the public in such a manner when it only happened in one scenario. It’s when they find these problems have happened multiple times that they start taking such actions- which reaffirms that Hickok wasn’t trying to cause issues or purposely making it malfunction. There have been issues with a select few cars that had burned to the ground due to wiring issues with the IHKA blower, but it wasn’t until they had numerous cases that they issued a recall. They can also stop these issues “in house” when they have assembly line issues. There are comparable and relatable themes that crossover between the two business models and I was pointing those out. It’s a better and more poignant comparison than arbitrarily saying that Hickok must be paid off to purposely and egregiously slander a gun manufacturer for....”reasons”.
dknollRX7 Firstly, there was no confusion on my end. If you are confused then I hope this will help, if not then I fear no discourse could clarify your point of view. Hickok publicly admits to his being sponsored by numerous gun related entities. As an example, he was/is sponsored by Buds Guns and Federal Ammunition. As such, it is entirely plausible that he has conflicting interests from somewhere. For all I know, he has S&W stocks. I don’t know, nor do I care, if this is the case. People throw away everything in pursuit of money at times. As for the comparison with the auto industry. If you so wanted then you could make the comparison. But it would be more realistic to compare the Python and the steps taken with a Ferrari (choose a model). Both are rather expensive, performance based products from a rather niche manufacturer. How many public recalls do you see from them? Not many. Why? For one is the fact that Ferrari can’t shift the blame as easily as... Ford for example. Next is that any type of publicity that could cause consumer doubt will be highly dangerous for such a luxury item. When one pays for such quality, one expects for even minor flaws to be addressed and corrected quickly. By getting ahead of negative reviews or speculation they ensure consumer confidence and can maintain the “prestige” of the brand. Thanks for the conversation.
Lmfao this nutrubber is still trollin away. We already know you have pretty odd beef with hickock45, regardless of any situation. Oh, you talked to colt, where is that video? LMFAO
@Mike Cheresne like sootch it's more of a showcase or an advertisement than a review. Reviews imply testing and evaluation was done, Hickok shoots maybe a hundred rounds while rattling off the specs sheet; it's more like a "this thing exists here are the features" than a proper review.
Hikock45 has shot at least 100 revolvers on his channel. He used to shoot competitively with revolvers. If he didn’t know how to shoot them, as you claim, he’d have issues with all revolvers, not just the 2020 Python. Of all the guys to go after, you go after the most likable guy on YT. You say he hasn’t done anything for the community. That’s absurd, he’s brought a lot of joy through his shooting and casual conversations with his audience. Reading his YT comments through the years, you can see how many people he’s gotten interested in guns. A lot of casual watchers of him have never even shot a gun, but his videos have normalized guns, and turned around previous misconceptions about what a “gun guy” is/can be.
Hickok45 is always a gentleman he never talks crap none of the people in name you can learn something here I used to be a fan of Yankee Marshal really not much anymore
As it turns out.... Hickok was correct... I believe he has shot millions or rounds out of revolvers... I may have shot near that amount. I have NEVER 'short stroked' a revolver. Turns out... Colt admits that the sideplate being loose will allow the hand (a thingie on a revolver) to miss the star (another thingie) Colt admits they screwed up.

You lost your own argument when you said "here is the thing about that, I think it's total bullshit". That statement is completely based off of your opinion, when Colt had addressed the problem. Only bullies and politicians use opinions in arguments.
Found a video recently showing problems with a King Cobra. Bad frame fit, and ejector rod serrations that would cause it to get stuck when ejecting. Yeah. I'm not trusting modern Colt with $1000+.

@@killgriffin like I said I was just curious I have never owned a colt revolver Is this issue with foreign made ammo common to colts in general or just the current re boot guns ?? I have not heard of people having problems with the new cobras ...............
@@balancedfordaylight1 in reality it should never be an issue with a revolver. Period. Ammo origin issues are a semi auto problem. Of course all 22lr is suspect in any platform. To put that on a center fire revolver with a external hammer is ridiculous.
You should look at the Hickok45 video again. At 31:36 he is clearly pulling the hammer back without his finger on the trigger and the cylinder does not turn. I've owned 8 Pythons and this has never happened. I have one in my hand as I 'm writing this comment and the cylinder turns every time I pull the hammer back. You're naive if you believe Colt's response as it's in their best interest to blame the problem on the user. You should know what you're talking about before calling someone a liar and before trying to educate your viewers.
I saw him wait for a hangfire when it happened so wtf are you talking about? Also after that happened he clearly was not pressing the trigger and the cylinder was not turning.

@@grousedog88 Yes but he isn't pulling the trigger. Look closer. He is single actioning it. The cylinder isn't being engaged by the hand. Not only that but he shows people what the vast majority of american gun owners enjoy. Not stockpiling military gear for a killing spree but a relaxing day shooting on a range. He is a retired teacher that enjoys shooting and is as unoffensive as possible. That is the sort of person that should be representing gun owners in front of everyone that thinks we dont need guns.
Face it you were wrong blaming him. The gun was defective. Why so hateful that he found a problem with an expensive gun?
I hate it when mommy and daddy fight.

Another video riding the coat tails of hickock 45.... This has become the anti everyone else channel..
I just watched the hickok45 video with the malfunction and you can clearly see the cylinder not turn multiple times in a row with full release of the trigger in single action.
Cylinder doesn’t turn on release. It turns on cocking.
Not only does Hickock45 know more about firearms than you, he is also more of a man than you...
woow we got a crybaby in the comments
I feel like I'm on a jury after watching that.
So what your saying is, you don’t care much for Hickok45?
@Blargenfladibblenohip ! you here doing exactly that.

He's deff not saying he's inexperienced he's just saying he's dishonest

Do you know him? Have you ever met him? Why do you feel the need to attack others? Just wondering?
Did Colt mention what was causing the damaged muzzle crowns?
I’m beginning to feel like you don’t like Hickock...

Glad im the only one
I was starting to think this as well but was afraid to say something
I'm glad I have learned why I never subscribed to your channel.
What a mouth
Hickock45 has 6.27 million subscribers and doesn't act like an unsupervised preteen with moms camera. You have way more to lean from him than he has from you.
The least of which, is guns.

Dude: You got balls. I'm not usually impressed, because I consider myself a bigger asshole than Gordon Ramsey (my wife agrees), but you have earned my respect, sir. Keep calling them out.
Calling out who? Channels bigger than him for views? Other small channels have video of Colts failing to work. One even addressed yankee specifically on the short stroking the trigger topic and proved it wrong. He did prove that short stroking the trigger on new Colts only locks up the trigger and cylinder. He even has a clip from shot show of a demo gun failing in the same way.
😂😂😂
Ever see this guy fire a weapon? Ever see Hickok miss? Enough said
Glad you said that. I was thinking the same thing. Pretty much sums it up 👍
I watched the video several times and it appears his finger comes out clear of the trigger when the cylinder doesn’t turn.

I like you both...IMO knocking him doesn't make you look good...A review is just a review.
@Mike Cheresne like sootch it's more of a showcase or an advertisement than a review. Reviews imply testing and evaluation was done, Hickok shoots maybe a hundred rounds while rattling off the specs sheet; it's more like a "this thing exists here are the features" than a proper review.
If it weren't for the comments section here, I would have hit the "don't recommend channel" button a long time ago.
This is pathetic. I'm done with this overgrown gerbil. Grow up!

No. Hickock just likes to promote Bud's, a known scheister.

Yankee has always had a weird sense of humor.. His relentless middle school type jokes about sex in his earlier videos prove it.
you did a good single action demo. did you demonstrate the failure in double action?
10:50 he is able to hit the gong fairly regularly with snubbies and subcompacts....granted he has yet to fall off his deck and get attacked by werewolves.
Some one at colt is probably thinking, “we should have just paid Hickok”
Where's Gun Drama Johnny when you need him? This whole thing is Drama Llama worthy.
Did you try turning it off and on again?
You lost your own argument when you said "here is the thing about that, I think it's total bullshit". That statement is completely based off of your opinion, when Colt had addressed the problem. Only bullies and politicians use opinions in arguments.
For that kind of money, I’d buy a Dan Wesson
Add 2-3 thousand more, I buy me a Korth 44 magnum. Not cheap but you get quality that makes a Dan Wesson look like a hi point.
Just say you were wrong and apologize.
Don't break your arm trying to patch yourself on the back not everybody perfect you know not like yourself

I am curious as to what "import ammo" they are talking about ?? I have shot thousands of rounds both of PPU and geko 38 special in both ruger and old and newer smiths and never had a problem .................
GoldenWebb was using Fiocchi, Armscor, and PMC Brass and had lots of issues, so I assume Colt's just lying again.

Maybe tula and monarch too. Those might be problem ammo.
They are talking out the side of their neck.
@@balancedfordaylight1 in reality it should never be an issue with a revolver. Period. Ammo origin issues are a semi auto problem. Of course all 22lr is suspect in any platform. To put that on a center fire revolver with a external hammer is ridiculous.
So what you're saying is that it's flat out Hick's fault that the python is getting a worse trigger? What a bunk deal
The profanity, demeaner, and sarcastic impressions on this video are excellent reasons to never watch a video with this host again.,
I started watching RUclips Videos on firearms with Hickock45. @@grousedog88 Yes but he isn't pulling the trigger. Look closer. He is single actioning it. The cylinder isn't being engaged by the hand. The gun is malfunctioning and he is not short stroking it as was said.
Bottom line is that gun is malfunctioning and the lame excuse of Colts does not cover the fact that it is a design flaw and out of specs for the mainspring.
