My very first Warriors review! I am so proud.
A detailed look on how the second installment of A Vision of Shadows is not as fresh or original as it seems.

I don't understand why every reviewer always bashes on the quests, those have and probably always will be by personal favorite parts of the Warrior cats books. You can only do so much in the clan territory. They hunt, fight off a fox or badger, patrol, repeat. Nothing goes on in the clans until the journeys begin.
Unfortunately, you are in the minority. Most of the people I've met dislike the quests because they're repetitive and tedious. If you like them, that's your fair opinion
Ghost Spore I havnt read many quest books I don't like them because the first super eduition I read was firestar's quest I never finished it because of how long it was and it just dragged as long as possible I feel like they just say let's have a farm river Kittypets dog and some fox attacks
You are.. sort of right about the whole new experience thing. The walking is boring, but the destination experience is cool. Example, the walking in the Fourth Apprentice was lame, but the beaver thingy redeems that.
I feel like that could be true if they were written better. As it stands all the quests I've read have either been pointless. Glossed over. And almost none of them have head emotional and or personal development.
I agree. Quest books are my fav. I think it is mostly because of all the other cats they meet (loners, rouges, kittypets, etc.) I like how they have such different personalities.
When Twigpaw's characteristics began sounding like Brokenstar I was like 'oh shit i need to see this' XD
you need to read Shattered Sky. it doesn't give Onestar a good explanation, but it's fine. plus, the book has an amazing twist that you will not beleive at the end of it.
There's always a couple of bad books in each series. Remember Fire And Ice? Yeah. Shattered Sky the best Warrior Cats book that've I've ever read, and you should talk about that one. Alderheart is one of the best characters in my opinion because he is the only main character who has had problems like anxiety. He's easy to relate with because he doesn't get the hold of something right away, and has trouble learning quickly.
....I like Fire and Ice. Although it is true that each arc is bound to have at least one novel that some people won't like as much.
I actually got "Fire and Ice'"s plot confused with "Firestar's Quests"'s plot. It was that forgettable.
Quiet Rage there is one good scrne you didn't touch on. In Thunder and Shadow Twigkit hears that Alderheart is visiting Shadowclan, and gives him a small red feather to take to her sister. She explains that while during the short time they had together in Thunderclan. Violekit and Twigkit found a beautiful red feather that they spent all day playing with together, and so Twigkit told Alderheart to give Violetkit the feather and wanted to have Alderheart ask if Violekit missed her. It is very cute and shows how innocent and kind she is and really shows she is like Dovepaw. It makes me really hate Rowanstar too.

Trust me, Shattered Sky is better. I am not a blind follower when it comes to these books and I believe that Shattered Sky solves most of the problems so far in this arc.
I just finished it yesterday, and it was amazing! It took so many twists and turns and it revealed so much! She should totally review it!
I don't like Shattered Sky. Sure it's more action packed, but I think the whole Darktail thing was just thrown in and not even thought about AT ALL. Onewhisker was a honorable and reasonable warrior, he would never think of doing against the warrior code for HIS own will.
If I must edit... Shattered Sky brings up the problem between character personality.

I thought more people did...but I just hate Dovewing in general so I REALLY don't like any ship with her involved.
I really like their relationship because it feels fresh. Their aren't a lot of characters that make enough mistakes that they can be considered dumb, but Tigerheart is, and it gives a really interesting flaw for the Erins to work with. I also really like Dovewing, and I think that Tigerheart is kind of good for her, she can just relax with him and let go of stress. *Below are spoilers for Tigerheart's Shadow*
Off the top of my head, there hasn't been a forbidden romance where one cat actually joins the other's clan. (Mapleshade tries and fails). This makes their romance even more unique and I think it's sweet that they care so much about each other. I think that Dovewing and Tawnypelt (I predict that Tawnypelt will become deputy btw) will help Tigerstar be a good leader.

Shattered sky was WONDERFULL! it was significantly better than T+S, i'd suggest reading it. I personally think that VoS was more than meh, but I can see why you think that way.
Theory:
Reason behind no half clan relationship is due to breeding. Each clan is supposed to have genetic traits which help them be most successful in their own environment. By mixing the clans too much you lose this. In actuality this occurs with animal breeding.
Although this seemed more of an issue in the forest area. The lake areas seem closer to each other. Ex: windclan isn't that different from 1/2 of Riverclan - not as much elevation. ThunderClan & ShadowClan seem just about the same except pine trees.
It may mean less now but like the back story on the other warrior code rules, it had a reason when it started. This is what i wish they would have the cats discuss - why did a rule start & is reasoning still valid.

For some reason Twigpaw and Violetpaw remind me of Dovewing and Ivypool.
I feel like this is possible, but what if, in the future, when the series is FINALLY done, the books could get rewritten, with the time and quality they deserve. It would be interesting to see what's different when the creative process is allowed to happen naturally with Warriors
For me personally, I loved The Apprentice's Quest. Loved would be a bit too strong, but I definitely liked it. Thunder and Shadow not too much. The way the Erin's had protrayed Sandstorm's death for me was actually quite saddening, and how Violetkit and Twigkit were token away from eachother was quite sad, too. Though I definitely agree with you on the whole "Journey" thing and how its really overused, since, now we have like, 4 ( and probably more ) books with a group of cats journeying. The entire SkyClan ark where Alderpaw tried to go find SkyClan to bring them back was quite fun to read for me, and when Alderpaw had failed the quest it was quite interesting to read. Thats my look on it, anyway.
Violetpaw grow up and murder rowanstar and become the badass evil leader and whip shadowclan back into shape
I loved Thunder and Shadow, because though it takes other ideas, often they're hidden in a way most casual readers won't notice. With the Brokenstar matter, though, it's taken note of that he was always a bit savage and power hungry. Though, tyrant Violetstar would be great.
Not sure if any of this changes in Shattered Sky, though. We'll have to see. And I'm also a bit reproachful on Tigerheart's Shadow; other characters need super editions, not Tigerheart.
Bumblestripe deserves a Super Edition! It should take place between The Last Hope and Dovewing's Silence. But nooooo!!! Tigerfart gets one.

I agree with you on pretty much everything except for Alderheart. I guess he's a character that you need to relate to in order to like and find interesting? I relate to him a lot so he's one of my favorites.

Shadow Clan isn't excectly known for reasonable reactions. There's always 1 cat who's a voice of reason who is eventually killed, driven out, or defecting to other clans. This was a problem all the way back in the first six books. So when trouble stirs up in this clan? I'm honestly met with constant grown.
Paraphrase: "We never got to see any character developement with Sparkpelt and her warrior ceremony felt rushed"...
Probably because A) you didn't read the first book in the series and so never got to know her, B) she isn't the main character so she gets dumped early on in the second book and C) she is literally a plot device for most of the time to be used to make Alderheart feel inadequate. Sure, in the end you're justified, but you never read the first book so you don't have the right to say that about Sparkpelt...

I suppose you have a valid point, but there is still something to be said about a series that automatically turns off a large portion of readers by making the new book in a journey format, is there not?
I sort of wished that Sparkpaw would have done really badly on her assessment due to stress and nervousness, knowing that she wouldn't become a warrior if she failed. That would have been interesting, especially if she came to Alderpaw because of it.

Could Voiletpaw be a Brokenstar reincarnation? After all, Brokenstar was killed by Yellowfang and his spirit faded in The Last Hope. And, Brokenstar, when Brokenkit, he was actually a nice cat! Maybe when Brokenstar was reincarnated into Voiletpaw, he became kinder, knowing he/she had a sister and a friend like Needletail. Maybe he lost his dark memory, but kept some personality? AVoS was worth reading until Darktail was gone. I can safely say that AVOS ends for me at Shattered Sky.
Why can I relate to Violetpaw's emotions... Probably because of the kids who I befriended who later dissed me for popularity and mocked my friend because she was a bit different than them. Not to mention they cared about nothing in people except for how well they can keep up with the trends. Anyone who didn't play fortnite or watch Jake or Logan Paul and Little Tay was worthless and had no point to get any kind recognition because they would never succeed. I was replaced many times for saying my opinion. I felt alone and worthless, which gave me never ending stress and sadness and self doubt. I developed a voice in my head that keeps telling me I'm a disappointment and that everyone hates me and I'll never be good at anything and I don't deserve anything. Afraid of being seen as weak, I hid my pain and went full John Mulany with everything.
John: I'll keep all my emotions right here, and then one day I'll die.
I began to feel like everyone was judging me and hated me and that made me extremely terrified of social interaction. I already had low self-esteem, but my parents wouldn't believe me when I said I had social anxiety and depression because if I did, it would be taking over my head and life. Which it was. I thought about trying to eat less because my pain seeped into my self image. Luckily, I learned the dangers of eating disorders before I went too far. But I was still struggling quietly. I had mental break downs a lot at night, but no one noticed. My mom saw the pain finally, and tried to help me. All that happened was that the voice in my head grew louder. But I wasn't scared, and that's what scared me. I almost gave up, but school ended. To this day, I am still stressed and struggling in silence. I know you have already left, but if you read the whole thing, thank you. And if the people who caused my pain are somehow here, then look at what you did. Shout out to Mariana Aqino, Megan Bertran, and Emily Lopez for ruining my last 3 years at old Mill before middle school! Karma will find you though, so beware

This is about Apprentice's quest but, there was a throwaway line of Alderpaw wondering if owls that can carry off kits would come into the forest, and I think later on Twigpaw or Violetpaw got lifted away by a owl? so I thought that was clever of the Erins
I can't remember reading sunrise all I know is that I read it and moved on but I personally loved the new book it was ok at the beginning and the my theory came true from when I was reading hawkwings e book and I also liked the ending
I actually really enjoyed Tiger x Dove for a while, but they've really driven it into the ground.

I completely respect your opinion, but I also completely disagree w/ you. Thunder & Shadow is one of the best Warriors books I have ever read! Along with the Apprentices Quest! This arc is amazing and I honestly am in shock that anyone would dislike it.
I like the quest books... their the only ones where they act like cats instead of European feudal states.

I mostly enjoy watching your videos, especially since you often offer an unique point of looking at things and make many valid points not many other people discuss. However, I cannot help but feel that sometimes the amount of verbal agression your videos contain is hurting the massage you are trying to get across.
Most of my verbal aggression is not meant to be taken seriously. They're jokes.
Personally, I just don't find that type of humor particularly funny. All it does for me is sabotaging the credibility of the person using it.

Firestar's Quest did make Firestar save Skyclan. They moved to a different area though, which kind of made me sad. But it was a great book. Definitely recommend Firestar's Quest.
I started reading WarriorCats with The Apprentice's Quest. It was new to me so I loved it. I love Visions of Shadows.
I would at least give Shattered Sky a try. I think it was really good, much better than Thunder and Shadow

I wish hollyleaf was alive and deputy or leader she followed the code as much as possible she stop the clans from going into a battle and if she was leader she wouldn't let forbidden love happen and would know that forbidden love is something that can effect kits and the clan. She reminded me of bluestar putting thier clan first and only stopping when they snapped

I mean I read like 4/6 of the vision of shadows and I barely remember anything that happened.
Also, both Violetshine and Brockenstar had medicine cat siblings.
This is what I want to happen in Broken Code: because of this winter and overpopulation, cats are starving. Not like shown before, but to the point where ThunderClan has like 8 cats left. The warriors are dying, but the queens and elders are surviving because of the warrior code, making the clans question it. Because of this, there is also more and more half-clan kits born, and they really stop and wonder why the code exists, and how it really makes life better. They actually reflect on their honor system, and begin to release their grasp on it, which has consequence as well as reward. I need this to happen!!! Also if there's a villain make it a med cat. Thx!
I think it's weird that warrior writing team make a lot of errors that me, a little self-though fanbook author, of 13 years old who write a thing that like less then 20 people are fan of (AF univers) don't make and think are easy to avoid. If I was writing the vision of shadow I would not copy things so it could make a better thing after getting a battle with hell. Plus I'm good to get my books more and more epic. So yeah.... AF univers is very clean and does not copy many of his old books (except the very very old, unofficials books)
So, that's pretty weird. It make me feel arrogant because I can be better at making plots then a writing team of a very popular book series.

sorry but this will be just a little defense (and a little wager): let's read the preview of TS when it comes out, and if you thought it was good, then let's talk about it and you will have to admit that Tigerdove is okay. not awesome, just alright (in the B&N exclusive scene for SS, I saw him be very mature while Bumblestripe basically be a stalker...it's also from Dovewing's POV and is basically a tease for TS) and if we (both of us) think it was bad, Then I'll make a video of why TigerxDove is a sinking ship and Dovewing should be kitless, as much as it will pain me. if you don't agree, then meh, I won't pressure you.
An intriguing offer, but I am afraid I must decline. I am a proud woman, and there is no way I'd ever be able to honor a bet to say TigerxDove is a good ship. My hatred for both Tigerheart and TigerxDove runs far too deep for me to ever admit it could be okay, erm...no offense. Plus, who's to say that when the preview comes out, that you will think it's good and I think it's bad? Then we'd be at a stalemate.
I know the scene you're talking about, and I agree that Bumblestripe is really starting to cross that line between persistent and creepy. And really, it kind of ruins what little character he had. He liked Dovewing, but he was never willing to sacrifice his self-respect for her. He made it clear that he was pissed with her after Dovewing was cold to him one too many times. Yeah, and Tigerheart does seem more mature, but that doesn't erase the fact that he lied to her, manipulated her, and used her like a cheap rag in the past. There are some things that just shouldn't be repaired, and that's why I will always be against Tigerheart's Shadow.
Although I will say, I am curious. I haven't seen a single TigerxDove shipper after Night Whispers, every fan that I knew abandoned ship after that novel. What do you see in this ship?
how about we do a stream when the preview comes out and we discuss why we either liked it or disliked (reasonably) to the point where we have an understanding and (maybe) a collabroative review of TS. where we talk about how the characters, plot, and setting went and why our opinions are different with the book. agreed?

RomanceGirl6666 I agree. idk what the definition of using someone is if they have Tigerheart as an example. you have to be in his shoes. his clan was dying and his medicine cat was sick, then dovewing blabbers about jay's secret stash. wouldn't you take some if it meant saving your clan? smh. tbh, most people hate tigerheart because he isn't a stereotypical shadowclan cat, they just give other excluses.
+TigerDovefan34: Like what else could anyone expect?? It's his Clan ... Dovewing had a right to be upset for dragging Ivypool into it, but I certainly don't blame Tigerheart. Dovewing was naive, but tbh so was Tigerheart. He told her just as many ShadowClan weaknesses as she did ThunderClan's. In a different scenario, Dovewing might've done the same for her Clan. That's just what happens when cats enter a relationship with a cat from another Clan, divided loyalties. Using Dovewing would be him intentionally getting with her to spy on ThunderClan and not actually having feelings for her. The books don't support that. Tigerheart wasn't a user with Dove IMO. He was at worst immature and pushy and sometimes a little selfish, but not a user. I honestly thought he cared for her.

What would've been a better hostage would be if they went to WindClan to invade them, only to steal Heathertail. With this news, this could cause Lionblaze to go an save her due to his feeling for her lingering. And this might even give Twigpaw a good arc about doing whats right with disobeying her clan, bringing up the argument of "How can we trust her?" from her clanmates, or doing what she was supposed to do, having her neglect of Heathertail's situation at the back of her mind, haunting her and affecting her decisions. It might even show the caring hidden side of Onestar, leading invasions just to save his daughter.

XD I now realize why I like this ark. I never read A New Prophecy and Power of three was my favorite series so I thought of the journey to the mountains was cool. (And I couldn't get myself to read all of Omen of the stars because of how much I (plz don't hate me) hated Dovewing (this is just my opinion plz don't give me hate)) yea I only read The fourth apprentice, half of Fading Echos , The Forgotten Warrior and The Last Hope. So basically this is like the second journey for me.(By Hawkwing's Journey I was over this quest thing)
My biggest problem with the series is the introduction of twig and violet into the series. Fair warning, I may go into some SPOILERS. I like alderheart and his nervous unsure self. I wanted to see him grow brave and to become a better well rounded character. I wanted him to finish the quest that Firestar could never really complete, I wanted him to stumble upon skyclan and bring them to the lake. Sandstorm’s death killed me, she should have had a more honorable death then one on a failed quest. I like that Skyclan is involved buuut I didn’t want a stupid border shift. Now (where I’m at) the clans will have barely any hunting ground and the camps are too close to the borders! I thought that bramblestar’s storm was introducing a new territory for Skyclan to live that is just beyond their clan borders. These are CAT territories we’re talking about, not next door neighbors who want to split the shared yard with a fence. Also I hated the stupid sister-sister storyline. We already had some great sibling characters like leafpool and squirrelflight. Violet and twig’s relationship has fallen flat, also twigpaw why would you even care about violetpaw when half the time she’s mean to you and you two haven’t bonded over one thing. A red feather isn’t enough to hold a friendship let alone a family. The hunters need to reread their own stories. I also don’t like how dumbed down and to fast paced the books are now. We’re just bouncing around and we never know how much time has passed. I agree that the characters are becoming too humans like, I want to read about a bunch of angry cats hissing, hitting each other, and defending their borders tooth and claw, but also with a good plot. It’s a 4/10 for me, I started Darkest Night(4) and I don’t think I can keep reading it. I don’t know if I’ll keep reading the series :c. I honestly don’t care that twig and violet are with their father now in Skyclan. There is no build up and I have no love for these cats🤷♀️.these books are just cash grabs and the authors don’t care. Sorry for rambling, it just makes me so mad. These books could have been so good if they were worked properly and with lots of new ideas.
Okay..this is what i understand from the video and the comments: we need need new people with new ideas to make new warriors books!? Cause....what i read is only, its the same, we need something new, they are getting lazy. Im getting depressed of all this, why not just focuse on the good stuff, or try to make lots of series youreself to satisfy youre fans, its hard work, okay!?

You know to someone who actually has anxiety... Alderheart is like a slap in the face. People with anxiety do not act like he does. He is boring and doesn't really have anxiety or any character development at all.

I think the reason all the new books aren't all that great is because they're by different authors, so technically they're more like offical/canon fanfiction. I don't find the actual series that bad, but Spottedleaf's heart, and Tigerheart's shadow...

The new prophesy in my opinion was a boring and kinda annoying because they were constantly switching characters and changeing view points..... Now don't freak out on me or get all triggered cause this is my opinion k... K good
I'm a little bit annoyed that we have yet ANOTHER sister-duo who are just the BEST OF FRIENDS until they are not (Squirrel and leaf, blue and snow, dove and ivy). I'm not saying their struggels are not valid, but it's still annoying. Can't we have ONE pair of sisters who end up staying close friends with each other after the drama?

Well actually, I do think that alway reading the same ceremony thingy of name can be a bit boring for readers? I, actually, hate reading these parts. But... Maybe you really love them, you are free to, This is o l'y my opinion, I just think it's repetitive and long... but...
I don't even read The warrior books anymore.
I find them not enough trilling to read since the start (I need high degree of humour to love a thing) so I prefer following the série by watching humouristic videos about it.
But they still do rush too much...

I think the characters are just better. Even the side character were interesting, while in the first book they were all just boring. And the arcs before this one were just stupid..

Humanizing the cats is what makes the stories interesting. If they were just cats they would be mating all the time, fighting Everytime, and having 6-8 babies at a time
I know that's extreme but the cats always fight over prey and territory. And yet you expect them not to grow and learn.
These cats have organized society. Doctors. And for some reason choose to live close together because of trees and religion.
They are already human.
Just because vomiting hasn't been done before doesn't mean it cant be introduced.
If that's the only evidence you have for them humanizing warriors more (as if monogamy and religion didn't do that already)
Then it's a weak point to add in a criticism.
They are cats. They have always acted like cats. Also. Cats vomit. Just like how cats eat mice. And fight.
The original series still had human like cats. They just had more gore, which didn't need to be there. Now they just have round about arguments that never lead to violence. But also never lead to emotional growth.
Anyway. I like your videos for the most part. But I feel like that comment was unnecessary.
Also. The books have always been repetitive rip offs.

And everything in the books has been repeated ten told. Ripped off from other stories . Are typical cliche's. Or made no sense at all and never will.

It just got more horrible when they ran out of steam and started copying themselves and glossing over their own culture and lore
