The Bruddah Iz Strum-Somewhere Over The Rainbow

- Bruddah Iz, Israel Kamakawiwoʻole was a great Hawaiian musician and spirit. His high, sweet voice, positive vibes, pride in his culture and great island feel in his ukulele strumming enchanted the whole world when he came out with his Somewhere Over The Rainbow/Wonderful World cover in the 90's. The popularity of the ukulele over the past 25 years has a lot to do with him.
This strum eludes some uke players and I do get asked about it all the time. This is my interpretation of it broken down. There are other interpretations, some quite good. The "chuck" can be replaced with a striking of the low G with the thumb, for instance. Let's see what it is all about!
