Hi Gregory, just purchased my first musical instrument a ukulele I'm just 74 yrs young, and 3 weeks into it, you make it look so easy, got lot's of practice to do with getting the fingers to work, for the cords are you strumming all the strings, look forward to being able to play this tune , great tutorial cheers

If it makes you feel any better, I'm closer to 50 than 45. I've had some basic guitar lessons in the past. Buy forgotten almost as much as I learned. You have to commit to practicing, I try for a set block of time daily, but gave to rearrange occasionally.
& some days I just don't feel like practicing, and I don't, honestly.
BUT, I've had 2 lessons in the last 3 weeks on this song , going for lesson #3 in a little bit, actually.
I personally focused on the intro alone, along with my strumming timing, and strum patttern, for the 1st week.
My teacher has me playing it in a down-down, up-down-up strumming patttern, that adds maybe a pinch more of the 'island' sound, as I hear it.
I like this strum pattern though!!!
Much less to think about while making chordchanges👍🏼👍🏼 just up and down throughout, sounds great to me, and still has that Island sound.
This past week i have been playing up through the 'Rainbow' portion, taking it a portion at a time.
But, this past Monday I AMAZED a neighbor of mine who doesn't play any instruments.
SO, After 3 weeks of 1 hour/week lessons, and as much practice as I can fit in, I've got the first half ALMOST down to where I don't need to look at the chord/lyric chart TOO often😉
Unless you have bad carpal tunnel, I think with enough practice, most anyone could play a small how, and this is a great onbe to learn, these days esp!!!
      Great video!
      Many thanks Gregory!!
*I just found you but am subscribing now!👍🏼👍🏼

Best tutorial on learning this medley on youtube. Nearly every other "tutorial" I found is merely the player running through the chords and then simply playing at tempo. Sorry, but that's not a tutorial. This takes you through both songs, clearly and slowly, and then at tempo. Bravo and thank you.

I like your teaching style! I've only been "playing" since May and have no musical background unless you count appreciation. At 76, everything takes a bit longer to sink in. My $40. uke doesn't sound half bad when I try to play along with you. The hard part for me has been learning the strumming patterns so it's helpful to see your right hand as well as the chords. Thank you for the tutorial. One ukulele song that I haven't been able to find on tutorial is "Oh, Donna". (Richie Valens) 1950's Any interest in teaching it?
