In some cases it looks the same if not better on the a55, any shots from up close are very good, but as tou start to zoom in the quality drops dramatically, because unlike the s21 the a55 does not have an additional camera for zoom
The 2x mode of S21 (not Ultra) is far better than the S21 Ultra's. You can make a new video to compare S21 vs S21 Ultra short zoom range, such like: 1,5x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 7,5x. I had both phones in the past and in most cases S21 won easily. It would be interesting to see if "Samsung" made some improvements on the S21 Ultra in recent years.
The S21 Ultra seems to have much better dynamic range in wide and ultrawide, and better quality when zoomed in (though this is unfair as the A55 only zooms in at 12MP mode), in general quality the A55 tops it i think.

Both are very good phones. I currently have the a23 5g. I have an s21 ultra coming in the mail in a few hours. It's brand new the 128gb - 12gb model
