Thank you so much for your great reviews! I bought my first watch at the age of 15. It was a Citizen Promaster Pepsi, which was slightly looking like the Rolex GMT Master 2 in Pepsi. And as I grew older, I enjoyed watches and learning about them and their brands even more. My dream would be to own a GMT 2 in Pepsi one day. So, some months ago, I decided to save some money and buy the Steinhart Ocean GMT in Pepsi with the ceramic bezel and the jubilee bracelet at the age of 19 for 690 Euros. It has arrived a few days ago, and I'm as happy as I could be! The quality is outstanding, and I love that the watch looks very similar to the Rolex, while managing to not fully copying it. I'm really looking forward to spend more time with the watch and enjoy it even more!

This is a nice watch no matter what and as I already said, Steinhart does watches inspired by the sub theme, but imo are not homages. Given that I own several Rolex divers can see major differences. I don't own a Steinhart but I got my eye on the vintage mil especially since it comes in 39mm. The ocean one 500 in titanium may also be available in 39mm, Gnomon had some models made smaller.

Sounds like you are enjoying the watch, do you have the Steinhart rubber strap or did you buy a 3rd party one? Did you have problems with it fitting flush with the case?
@@TheWatchScientists it’s a third party strap. I think I picked it up on Amazon. It fits up against the case perfectly! The tang and buckle are polished stainless steel. I would have preferred a matte finish but otherwise I like it.
Cool! I had one that left a gap between the case and strap end, which wasn’t pretty. Could you give me the link? I am looking for a well fitting rubber strap

And the customer service is very nice, helpful, you can speak with the watchmakers ! Just buy one many years ago, an ocean 39 pink MOP for my wife , and we are always surprised about the quality of this piece. I’ll probably buy a 42GMT Blue & Grey ceramic soon ! Kind regards
I am also a very proud owner of this wonderful now-OOP GMT 500 Premium... w/ the ETA rather than the SW movement. I now own four Steinharts (I just purchased a 39mm Ocean Vintage Red) and remain so impressed with the brand's quality, fit and finish. Thanks for this video and your review; I agree with all you say here of this model and Steinhart, in general. And so agree that this watch in particular proves just how good Steinhart is at producing original designs, not just homage watches. Frankly, I wish Steinhart did more original designs... and then kept them in production longer. So sad to see such superlative original designs go out of production so quickly.
I've had this watch for 5 years now. They discontinued it in favour of the titanium variant, but I'm still in love with this watch. It held up well, I swim in the nearby river and I lived by the ocean for the past two years so it's been getting a tonne of use. No service yet despite daily wear and tear and after a little regulation it's running at +3 secs/day. The bezel has slowly misaligned over the years and some lume fell out of the ceramic bezel, but I feel like it's not something a proper watchmaker couldn't patch up. My Ocean 39 has tonnes of bumps and scratches and I love each and every one of them. It looks like a well-loved watch.
Just got this yesterday from a private seller on chrono24. Why they stopped making this and went back to just copying rolex I'll never understand. For me this is just far enough away from the rolex design. It's taken cues, obviously, but the differences are enough to make me not feel like a fraud wearing it. Also, I actually prefer this style numeral on the bezel to the rolex, I think Mercedes hand sets look awful, I've always preferred date at 6, and I hate the cyclops. And this cost me about £15,000 less than a rolex! What a touch. I also have the steinhart carbon with the funky blue striped case, which ironically for steinhart, is one of the most original designs I've ever seen. I'm tempted to get the red and black versions, as it's a fantastically well made watch. Very solid. Love them both.
Definitely we love the watch for basically the same reasons. I would love to get a pepsi bezel to switch it around, i think it would fir as the GMT hand is blue which is also on the pepsi bezel. But i think it will be difficulty to find one
I own this watch and would really like to add the "easy-link" 4:30 What watch is this part from? Can you order de bracelet seperatly? Wil it fit on the jubilee?
It is from a Parnis „Daytona“, I’m not sure if you can buy that bracelet separately. But if almost didn’t fit on the regular bracelet so i doubt it will fit to the jubilee.
@@TheWatchScientists Thank you, I was indeed afraid that it would not fit. In that case I’m going to try fabricating a part based on the Rolex design myself with an accurate metal CNC machine from a friend of mine.
I have two Steinhart's , Adventure 39 and a Ocean One 39 Ceramic. I recently had an issue with the Ocean 39. Steinhart paid for the UPS return, while waiting for the watch to arrive it went out of warranty. They still honoured the warranty and repaired it and returned it via UPS. Their correspondences with me were prompt and fast. I will be looking to purchase a Premium Ocean 39 904. Thanks for your video.
You should do a video on your accessories and tools as well. I see your watch wonder , watch holder and screw driver set . Be cool To get some info on those items
Good video, I'm interested in that watch, maybe the 42mm version because I like big watches. How do you think it would look on that watch to put a jubilee bracelet on it? Thank you so much.
This exact model (which is one of the more unique design from them) does not exist with the Pepsi colors. The ones with Pepsi colors are the more 1:1 homages. Quality is great as with the watch in the video, just looks a bit too much like a Rolex 😉
I don't think it is fair to call this model, the Ocean One GMT Titan premium Ceramic, a Rolex homage. It's hands, dial and date placement have nothing to do with it's Rolex counterpart.
I really like the brand and I like the watches mostly because a 42mm watch fits me better than the dainty 40mm Rolex. I don't want to buy a watch that the uninitiated would think of as fake so I don't buy the stainless watch with black dial but I do have the GMT with pepsi dial and I have the Ocean black with all black case and dial that I wear on a ZULU strap. I previously owned one with blue dial and bezel and I wish I had that one back. I would like to have the Batman GMT because I really like the high legibility of the hand design. Previously I also owned a Steinhart Flieger that I really liked.
Currently waiting for the green Kermit watch with the green rubber Steinhardt band. I love the combination and that will lineup perfectly with the two others I have. I have the Ocean 2 white, and the Bluesy homage to the blue dial, and blue bezel Rolex.
Thank you! I bought mine in a physical store in Aachen Germany. But you arr right I also can’t find it on their website, check out Gnomon they also sell Steinhart watches. If you can’t find any there send them an email, i would be interested why they are not selling it anymore
Clearly the GMT Master Batman. This one however has a more individual style and is not a 1:1 copy like most watches from Steinhart. Btw that is actually what a homage is, normally people use the word when describing copies.
@@TheWatchScientists what are you talking about? Most watches... Ever seen one out expect the Ocean One line? Sorry, that's just bs. And what is copied, the bezel color? 🤣 How poeple always try to polarise this overpriced forgotten brand.
Are you serious? Have you looked at the watches 😂 it is mainly the Ocean One line correct, but that is also what they mainly sell. Look at the Metropole. They are all obviously heavily inspired by Rolex models. The watch from my video has more unique style, that’s what i am saying. And people misuse the term homage, it is used at this point as a different word for a copy
I really like my blue Steinhart. It's without GMT hand and I wish all models were available without it. I will never have use for it and it adds a unnecessary function which makes the watch more complicated.
I also don’t use it as a GMT, i use it as an AM PM indicator. It’s really practical when you have to set the watch. As you always know if your watch stopped at AM or PM (which matters if you have a date function)
I had one last year, I only kept it a few weeks. It's well built, looks good, but for me, the face is too small. It's 39mm diameter, but a chunk of that is taken up with the bezel. It just looks too small for me. If they did a 41/42mm in steel, I'd buy one tomorrow. The finish on the titanium version is ugly in my opinion, which is why I went for the steel version. Overall though, a nice watch.
Fair enough if you like bigger watches the titanium version in 41mm would be the choice. I wear smaller watches in general so this is perfect for me. Thanks for sharing this, you were very quick on this one ;) we appreciate it
@@FELIX4764 I have the 42 Titanium and just ordered the steel bracelet, tried it on from my Hulk 42 (double green) and looks great so ordered this morning,
The current Ocean One Classic GMT ceramic is available in this blue/black combination in 42 mm. I have one of these and have been delighted. It is my favourite all-round mechanical watch, with 300 meters of water resistance, a diver bezel - useful for timing everyday events, (how long has that tea been brewing?) and the GMT hand for tracking time zones. The bezel on the 42 mm watch rotates much more easily than my 39 mm Ocean One green ceramic "Kermit". In addition the winding action on the Sellita 330 in the GMT is much smoother than on the ETA 2824/SW 200 in the smaller Kermit. For me then, the GMT version is well worth the extra money it costs. Personally have never liked the aesthetics of the Coke/Pepsi versions for everyday wear either - the black/blue combination is more subtle and generally dressier.
I have had a steinhart ocean premium for 3 years and about two months after I got it it suddenly would not set or wind. I sent it to the factory and it came back working but was losing over 20 seconds a day. I sent it in again and when it came back it was a bit more accurate but to this day it loses over 10 seconds a DAY. I have an invicta pro diver that stays within 3 to 4 seconds after a WEEK. I paid over $500 for the steinhart and I will never buy another steinhart again.
I have the once one 42 aluminum bezel ,39 Pepsi gmt , an the premium Ocean 1 -Gold & Blue Ceramic Bezel *limited edition . I really want the pink gold and black ceramic bezel and the the double green ceramic
This is a great watch brand. Also the I know the founder and ceo of the brand he is a cool guy. The brand is from Augsburg Germany. Just a great brand overall
Looks amazing. There's nothing special about a rolex case design, quality, movements, and dial. Youre paying for name and the bezel. That's it. Im fine for paying for brand name. I do it all the time with cheaper household items. However for a watch? I believe only those who really can afford it easily should get it. Ive seen the majority of people who enter the rolex shop next to the boutique i used to work at. Lot of weird, disheveled, socially awkward people walk in and talk to the associates and peruse around (some come several times a week) ... i asked the security guard there he says these guys come in all the time and dont do anything but just talk rolex this or rolex that and never look to buy anything. Strange brand to attract people like this. Im done w a seamaster and a few seikos beaters. Im accomplished enough in my life i dont have to wear my accomplishments on my wrist. I believe a nice diver (yeah. ...they are all a homage to the rolex brand thus their prestige) that is 700 bux or so is amazing and suffices and is a thinking man's watch.
I am not a huge fan of Rolex but their movement, case and bracelet quality is great, no one can deny that. But the people obsessing over Rolex also push me away from the brand
Steinhart quality control and build is awesome. They just need to hire some designers...... And i would buy one instantly.... Right now, it makes me sick to wear fake Rolex for 700eur
and i don’t understand how steinhart is 1 to 1 rolex design because it’s not at all only few inspirations but definitely not 1 to 1 … in fact i really respect Steinhart for there own character
This statement is true for this watch, however, if you have a look at their website and most of their other watches, you’ll see that most are 1 to 1. But even with that, each to their own and I think it’s great someone offers that
@@TheWatchScientists i own the double green 42 … there is many differences shape , backside and so on … there is only 2 models very close to Rolex , steinhart ocean 39 adventure classic but still not the same glass and completely different side back .. and then the vintage military they are almost rolex but i don’t think the others
That Hommage blah reminds me on Apple Fan boys. On any watch i weared is at least one idiot calling it a "inspired by Rolex" All it needs is a diver with a bezel.
I personally don't like homage watches, because that's just another term for "copying". But that being said, Steinhart is one of those companies that are actually showing how much Rolex & Co are ripping people off. With Steinhart you get a sapphire glass, extremely well finished case, you also get things like ETA movement and the bracelet made out of the solid end links with a milled out clasp. Bezel is also on a top notch fit n finish with a (wait for it) ceramic insert. And all that for what? 700 euros? Just think about it! Another Rolex fraud attempt (called Tudor) delivers much the same for the 5x the money cost. "Oh but it's a Rolex sub-brand"... SURE! Still ripping people off that "Rolex" branding name. It just shows how people are gullible. I personally respect Rolex for finding a great way to treat their costumers as trash while also ripping them off by selling overpriced products, either by duping them into buying multiple watches (that nobody is interested about) before Rolex "offers" them an overpriced over-hyped watch that they will treat as "investment" (LOL) OR by forcing them to buy the watch they desire from retailers that are going to sell it for 5x the OD value, because, you could never enter into the waiting list anyway. People believing that Rolex isn't involved into this retailer business are also very naive. It's a well oiled, tested and proven pyramidal scam that made a "registered charity organization known as Rolex" (and this is fact as well) into well oiled multi-billion dollar duping machine. For that fact alone I would personally never own such a watch. Just goes against my principles (even Steinhart because an homage watch is still advertisement for Rolex original product). So in a way, I am glad that Steinhart is around. Because when you take Steinhart and Rolex and you hold them side by side, see them, feel them, Rolex is such a disappointment. You just have to ask yourself, where did all that extra money went. Because, it didn't went into quality, that's for sure! Because of that I will continue to stick with GS watches.
A large portion of Rolex price is advertising. Rolex spends millions of dollars each year sponsoring sports events such as racing tennis, yacht races, etc. A!so Rolex has spent many millions developing their own part lines. They do not use any other supplyer. So, their movements, cases, bands, etc are in their complete control. Even gold and diamonds are crafted in house. I have never heard of any watch maker saying Rolex has poor quality regarding their watches. So, yep, Rolex ensures their supply is limited to inflate prices, but there seems to be a huge waiting list to buy them.
@@beecnul8r Hello! For start I don't care about tennis or any other sports Rolex sponsors THUS that is not any justification for overpriced watch. Further, if Rolex want's me to "applause" on it's "achievements" how about paying taxes instead of hiding behind "charity organization"? As for quality, yeah it has decent quality for a 1000$ watch. Over that, it's laughable. I can get from Steinhart titanium made, ETA powered, sapphire with anti-reflective coat, tritium markers on dial, ceramic bezel and high quality insanely crafted watch for 2500$. Why would I pay any penny more for a stainless steel watch that has NOTHING that can COMPARE to Steinhart and pay that 13000$ more? I held multiple Rolex watches in my hand. Even inherited one as well. I can tell you right now that there is NOTHING about that watch that screams 15-20 grand QUALITY. PERIOD.

And i like it also i hawe watches from 300€ to 10,000€ but i like that wotch . And it luck like newe after 5 ares .
Depends when you got them the SWATCH group doesn’t supply ETA calibers to brands outside the group. Highly likely to be a Selita (which looks exactly the same)
@@TheWatchScientists What do you mean? So all the ETA watches are not Eta? All Ocean One i got, plus the other watches from Steinhart got ETA. Just one carbon Ocean two came eith Sellitta. Don't know where yours came from, but exactly this one, Titanium 500 and the GMT are ETAs
I mean it is impossible to buy ETA calibers without being part of the SWATCH. So it will most likely be a Sellita, except of course Steinhart bought thousands of movements before SWATCH bought ETA.
@@TheWatchScientists think you got that wrong. My Titaniums are from 2019 and 2022. The Tritons too. Most are about 1 to 5 years old. And most are ETA (case and papers) Got older ones or limited too, and it is the same here
I own a few Rolex watches. But also a few Steinhart,s. If I'm honest with my own. I think a steinhart 10X has a better price-quality ratio than a rolex. you have to compare a Steel watch of 500>1000 with a 10,000>25,000. Then Steinhart wins against me. Even a sten heart is just as precise on time. just as beautiful, like a rolex, Rolex 6+ Steinhart +4. Never again a rolex for me. when I see that steinhart can build a super watch for 500>1000. I wonder why a steel Sub cost 15,000>25,000 euros. So Fuck Rolex."So"" a rolex real or fake. people first ask is He Real"" So a real rolex or fake you always have the fake experience
I had a Steinhardt watch couple years ago and was not happy with the finish on the watch at all I had a Tissot watch that’s just about the same price as the Steinhardt maybe cheaper and they decide to finish was 100 times better than a Steinhart watch

I'm almost done with watches..maybe😂 Never buy a Rolex in present time because the prizes are not worth it and the behave to the customers it's...y know what i mean😉
You call it a GMT Dive watch. It's not. It's a GMT. If it was a GMT Diver, it would have the inner and outer bezels reversed. And the outer bezel would be unidirectional. I've only seen one manufacturer that makes a true GMT Dive watch, and that is Citizen. Not sure if they hold a patent on it, or what, but would expect to see a lot more manufacturers making a watch with the two features combined. Perhaps someone can talk to Steinhart and get them to modify this watch to become one, it would look nice, and have a ton of functionality.
@@TheWatchScientists Yes. it definitely has dive watch characteristics. I've since found out that Oris also makes a GMT Dive watch, so perhaps there is no patent on it, or the patent has expired. Like I said, you would expect that a lot more manufacturers would make such a combo. I would think they would sell a lot of them.
@@TheWatchScientists Not when diving, no. But the functionality would basically mean you can travel with a "pilot's watch," and a "diver's watch," while only having to take one watch with you. I know most of us watch nuts like having more than one watch, but some people only want one watch, and like I said, when traveling, it's nice to be able to just have one watch that has both functions.
So you picked the STEINHART model that it is not a Rolex Homage. REASONS: in titanium, with the date window at 6 o'clock, No Mercedes hands, NO MAGNIFIER, 500m WR, in 42mm and with the markers with no steel contours, no jubilee bracelet... and the tittle says "Best 700€ Rolex Homage". YEAH...
Interesting that you write this because this is what a homage should be. It pays homage to a watch by using some distinctive features of it. Here we have mainly the bezel color and the general look of the case and bezel. It also has the hands of a vintage explorer reference. A homage is not supposed to be a 1:1 copy with a different name, that is not what that is supposed to be. Such watches are called „legal“ copies.

Well said! they are solid
It’s an incredible piece!
I bought my ocean one 42ml August 2014 and it still works and looks great
I'm a Steinhart Ocean GMT (ceramic coke bezel) for last 2 years. Great watch for $550 USD.
I own this watch and would really like to add the "easy-link" 4:30
What watch is this part from?
You are welcome!
I have the same watch for almost a year, it is truly amazing value for money! 😁
It is so great! Thanks for the comment 😊
First time I heard of this brand. It looks great. Thank you for sharing.
I have the Apollon. Unique design and best value for money ever. You need big wrists though. Great video and greetings from Achill Island in Ireland
I haven’t seen that one yet, but looks a bit big for me. Thank you for sharing! Greetings :)
You should do a video on your accessories and tools as well. I see your watch wonder , watch holder and screw driver set . Be cool
To get some info on those items
That’s a good idea, I’ll think about it :)
I LOVE my Ocean 39 Ocean Adventurer, 3 seconds variation (fast) per day. Best quality/value for money Swiss made proposition on the market!
Good video, I'm interested in that watch, maybe the 42mm version because I like big watches. How do you think it would look on that watch to put a jubilee bracelet on it? Thank you so much.
Thank you! I think it would fit well, compare it to Rolex GMTs on jubilee bracelets. It works
Great review. I own this watch as well in titanium and couldn’t agree more with you. Great video.
Thank you! :)
Been looking at this but in the Pepsi color have you seen this model in person and whats your thoughts?
This exact model (which is one of the more unique design from them) does not exist with the Pepsi colors. The ones with Pepsi colors are the more 1:1 homages. Quality is great as with the watch in the video, just looks a bit too much like a Rolex 😉
I buy watches that are quality for money and steinhart delivers that in abundance 👌
Where is the footage from? the views are beautiful!
Thanks I filmed it in austria, close to Sonntag/Fontanella.
I have the Ocean One Blackned. Love it.
Have the same one in Titanium (discontinued sadly). Maybe try their rubber strap. Fits great, wears wonderfully and very well priced!
Great vid! If you get your hands on the new Seiko GMT you should do a comparison to that!
Thank you! That is a cool idea, i would like to get my hands on one or even better buy it, maybe in the future ;)
I don't think it is fair to call this model, the Ocean One GMT Titan premium Ceramic, a Rolex homage. It's hands, dial and date placement have nothing to do with it's Rolex counterpart.
I agree!
i have 4 steinhart and the quality is wonderful. Buying number 5 soon...
They make great watches! Thanks for sharing :)
@@TheWatchScientists i have 6 now n still love them!
@@picassoboy52 congrats on the new acquisition, which one is it?
Cool watches, the Ocean 2 is very interesting. Thanks for sharing your Steinhart watches :)
Great that at least one guy does not try to be fake.
Really nice watch, first time i see one and find this brand. Will look and may buy
Excellent review. Where can this model be purchased? I have looked in several places and it is out of stock.
thanks
Thank you! I bought mine in a physical store in Aachen Germany. But you arr right I also can’t find it on their website, check out Gnomon they also sell Steinhart watches. If you can’t find any there send them an email, i would be interested why they are not selling it anymore
I’m a fan and own and Ocean One in black. I like the looks of this Batman and will consider it- thanks for the easy link hack.
Glad we could help. Cheers!
On wich Rolex Model is this one a Hommage for?
Clearly the GMT Master Batman. This one however has a more individual style and is not a 1:1 copy like most watches from Steinhart. Btw that is actually what a homage is, normally people use the word when describing copies.
@@TheWatchScientists what are you talking about? Most watches...
Ever seen one out expect the Ocean One line?
Sorry, that's just bs.
And what is copied, the bezel color? 🤣
How poeple always try to polarise this overpriced forgotten brand.
@@TheWatchScientists it's not Titanium, not 500m, not swordfingers, no luminated bezel and most of all, not Steinhart
The more unique design in this one is the only reason I have it, most other Steinhart watches don’t interest me
I really like my blue Steinhart.
Still satisfied with mine too ! Great watch for the price 😁
It’s a great daily beater 😊
Unfortunately this one seems to be only available (at this time) with a titanium case and bracelet.
Yes the steel version was unfortunately discontinued
Thanks for a great review!
Thank you!
You won’t go wrong with a steinheart 👌
All i know is the ocean 1 i bought in 2014 still works perfectly
I had one last year, I only kept it a few weeks. It's well built, looks good, but for me, the face is too small. It's 39mm diameter, but a chunk of that is taken up with the bezel. It just looks too small for me. If they did a 41/42mm in steel, I'd buy one tomorrow. The finish on the titanium version is ugly in my opinion, which is why I went for the steel version. Overall though, a nice watch.
Fair enough if you like bigger watches the titanium version in 41mm would be the choice. I wear smaller watches in general so this is perfect for me.
Thanks for sharing this, you were very quick on this one ;) we appreciate it
What size wrist have you got?
@@HaidenMcGrath 7.5 inches, so the watch looks small. Too small for my taste, others may not see it that way with a similar size wrist.
Personally have never liked the aesthetics of the Coke/Pepsi versions for everyday wear either - the black/blue combination is more subtle and generally dressier.
nice job , Chris
Thanks!
Id wear this over a “clone” Rolex. I just wish they’d homage Glashutte Original. They look cooler than the Rolex design IMO.
That sounds like a very unfortunate experience as I’ve owned a couple in the past and never had any issues, especially not movement wise.
Are all your watches Swiss made
No, i have a Baltic MR01 for example. It doesn’t always have to be swiss
Where to buy in US? thanks!!!
You should be able to order them on the Steinhart Website! If not there then try Gnomon!

excellent review..
Thanks!
This is a great watch brand. Also the I know the founder and ceo of the brand he is a cool guy. The brand is from Augsburg Germany. Just a great brand overall
You mean Günther Steinhart 😉
Thanks
Steinhart quality control and build is awesome. They just need to hire some designers...... And i would buy one instantly.... Right now, it makes me sick to wear fake Rolex for 700eur
I think the 42mm is titanium...and they make a 42mm Batman too. Hard to choose.
I tend to prefer the Titanium in that case since it has a more original design. (Nele)
Very disappointed with the ocean one I bought it for diving but after 2 years it has water ingress
and i don’t understand how steinhart is 1 to 1 rolex design because it’s not at all only few inspirations but definitely not 1 to 1 … in fact i really respect Steinhart for there own character
I really like the rosegol Ocean 39 rosegold, but i cant finď it.

That Hommage blah reminds me on Apple Fan boys. On any watch i weared is at least one idiot calling it a "inspired by Rolex"
All it needs is a diver with a bezel.
PERIOD.
My gmt steinhart 39 gmt is exactly 1 sec a day I have it for 2 weeks now. And i like it also i hawe watches from 300€ to 10,000€ but i like that wotch . And it luck like newe after 5 ares .
By the way, my both titaniums got Eta. Like almost any
Depends when you got them the SWATCH group doesn’t supply ETA calibers to brands outside the group.
And most are ETA (case and papers)
Got older ones or limited too, and it is the same here
I own a few Rolex watches.

Never buy a Rolex in present time because the prizes are not worth it and the behave to the customers it's...y know what i mean😉
I known what you mean, this is obviously not an ISO dive watch, but the watch has the dive watch style and the high water resistance.
I don’t really see the point of a GMT function when diving, but sure.
No lume shot? Ok...

Aggressive copying? What about Rolex and blank pain with the fifty fathoms!
That's not a bat girl no?
I believe people nickname the Rolex GMT Master 2 with black and blue bezel on a jubilee bracelet the Batgirl.
Before i buy one Rolex, i buy 15 Steinharts.
